How To Beat The El Cardenal Stealth Mission Quickly (Guide)

El Cardenal mission is a stealth, grab and extract operation that requires the ghosts to infiltrate a church undetected. I’ve found a way to complete this mission easily on extreme mode, without having to sneak through all the guards patrolling the front of the church. Minimum casualties, and successfully extracting the Cardenal safely away. You can attempt it solo, in a pair(ideal), or more (even better!).

Mission Objective

In this mission, we meet intel lead contact, Karen Bowman in a dodgy hut where we learn about the cartel’s business of kidnapping and trafficking children from all parts of Bolivia. Parents of the kidnapped are too scared to report them missing and the government is too corrupt to do anything. The public grows restless upon learning of these cases. To maintain the peace of the people, El Sueño has ordered the Cardenal to give a sermon to the public to discredit the parents of kidnapped children. Your job is to interrupt the sermon, expose the cartel and extract the Cardenal.

For Ghost 1, after killing the guard near the laptop, you can move forward and jump through the window on the right to access the laptop quickly.

I walked all the way back to show you that a third player could have laid in wait at the other door to begin the hacking process too.

Recommended Weapon : MK17

Refrain from using sniper rifles at anything less than 150m, even with the suppressor on, the noise will alert nearby enemies and result in a failed mission.



What I recommend for the whole mission is the MK17 assault rifle with the suppressor on.

Detailed Walkthrough (Optional)

Getting to the north-west area of the church



Via chopper :

Get a helicopter : You can either fly one to the location or spawn one with the rebel’s help (Use TAB + Scroller).
Fly it to the north-west part of the target location where you’ll spot a railroad built over the sea. Fly low and away from the wall or snipers will detect you.

Via foot (should you fail your attempts) :

Before running across the road, watch for hostile vehicles passing by – Unidad and Cartel
Run further away from the wall to avoid detection

Ghost 1

Once you’ve found the correct rock, climb it and jump over the wall. Be careful of nearby patrolling guards. When you’re finally in the church compound, Ghost 1 and 2 will split ways. Ghost 1 will be in charge of killing the guard nearby the laptop to be hacked and Ghost 2 will ready the getaway vehicle and grab the Cardenal.

Ghost 1 'perspective'

Ghost 1 Summary

• Clear out the hostiles along the side of the church facing you. Be careful to scout for others nearby that could detect his body.
  
• Run up the scaffolding. Once you reach the roof, watch out for hostile choppers and take out the sniper standing at the tip of the church. There might sometimes be two, so you’ll need to be quick about it to avoid detection.
  
• Run to the other side of the church and go down the scaffolding. Crouch and move to the window as the guard hovering the laptop can detect you easily. This is where the MK17 is important as other assault weapons might not have enough power to break through the window and kill him.
  
• From here, you can either run forward to hack the PC or run back via the rooftop to the safe side and enter the chapel.
  
• Sneak your way in and run up the inner scaffolding and hack the PC
  
• The stealth requirement is now turned off so go loud!
  
• By this time the whole world will freak out and you’ll just need to take out the two guards protecting the Cardenal and cover Ghost 2 as he grabs the Cardenal.

Ghost 2

Ghost 2 'perspective'

• Run directly across to the other side of the church
  
• Kill the two to three guards patrolling
  
• If you flew via chopper to this location, navigate your way down to retrieve it and fly it back up to the cleared location
  
• If you arrived by foot, call on the rebels help and spawn a chopper.

• And wait for the hack to happen
  
• Charge in and grab the Cardenal, shooting away at the guards with your sidearm.
  
• Stow him in the chopper and fly away unscathed.

And that’s it! The casualty count is at six hostiles and this painful mission has turned into a breeze!

Kill sniper on roof, land on roof with helicopter, sneek down and kill the guy on the laptop, hack, run back to helicopter, fly off and follow the cardinal as he leaves the base, intercept him outside.

[The Captain]

1. B-Team takes position perpendicular to compound entrance, blocking vehicles from escaping, remaining stealth.

2. A-Team lands helo on small parapet roof at rear of chapel, above El Cardinal's pulpit. This will not alert any guards on the ground level.

3. A-Team traverses planks on the left side of the chapel roof, knifing the sniper on the roof then using the scaffolding to enter the open window. Knife the guard, activate the hack and watch as Cardinal flees to a car. A-Team heads back to chopper, rendezvousing with B-Team.

4. B-Team EMP's El Cardinal's vehicle as he exits the compound. Capture him and place him in the chopper with A-Team then rendezvous with Bowman.

Missions are pretty easy to do with a team. It's possible to do solo, but easily one of the biggest pains in the ass I've had outside of the flight supply side missions in Media Luna.

Team work is a great thing, good job!

I've been trying to do it alone, ie AI's, no help in grabing anyone, or covering my back side while I do. The up load on the lap top starts the run to get away, which has ended with me losing my life out in front of the Church or down the road, trying to catch the taget. Shooting him in the leg kills him, weak OldMan. Hold on there, I'm not so young either.
