Thief-Taker General, chapter 7 fight
Hello All,

with this guide I want to lend a hand to those of you who are struggling with pickpocketing Thief-Taker General during an encounter at the end of chapter 7.

I played on master-custom, 720+, with no special arrows, no focus, where you can't be spotted or receive any damage, and can't perform KOs or kill anyone.

At first this encounter may seem hard, but once you get to know it, it's not so bad at all.

Equipment that is critical is 1x flash bomb and at least 1 water arrow [1 is available in the room if you ran out of yours earlier], but if you have more, they will be handy for sure.

I did not try to loot all items from the room, my main goal was to get Serendi Stone Circle - Amber Circle, and here's what I did:

When encounter starts dash to the left [clockwise], and as soon as there's an opportunity dash again towards the altar in the middle of the room. TTG walks around it doing his speaches, stopping for a brief moment every once in a while. Don't rush it, learn his routine, and once you are confident he stopped for his 2-3 seconds sneak behind him and set of the flash bomb, he will be stunned for just enough time to pickpocket the ring we're after - it's in the middle pocket on his belt. Immediatelly after you got the ring you need to hit the TTG with your blackjack - this will stun him for another moment, giving you enough time to dash back into shadows.
As soon as you're sure TTG is not aiming his crossbow in your direction extinguish the torch near the exit door and dash there. It's a safe spot, in my experience TTG will not shoot any random shots there so you should be safe unless you reveal your position yourself. If you have any spare water arrows using them on torches near valves will make things easier. From your safespot observe the general, and when you get a chance open both valves, don't rush it, go 1 at a time, and go for them when you are sure TTG is going the other way.
Lastly you need to pick lock on the door - it's 5 pin, so it may be a bit scary ....but you're in the safe spot right? Take all the time you need, and unless you mess it up with a pin TTG shouldn't see you.

That's it. I tried this tactics couple of times, so despite all RNG it should be perfectly feasible.
Hope it helps.

I'm afraid I won't be able to help. It's been some years since I played the game, I was not recording the playthrough, and I'm not even sure I kept the saves. Best I can do is wish you luck and keep fingers crossed.

would you by chance upload a video of this whole process trying to go for the custom 700+ achievement so if I die (:bonfire2:) welp I go back to the start. I know I can close to this point but a video would help a ton.
