Episode 3 Achievements

A guide to getting all the achievements for The Lion's Song: Episode 3 - Derivation.

Helpful things about this guide

• A few achievements on day 4 are only obtainable if you convinced Leos to call Nikol and become his friend in episode 1 (i.e., in episode 1, talk to him whenever he calls and call him on day 4 after the water well nightmare).
  
  
• Achievements "Set" and "Identity" under day 7 are influenced by previous days. Achievement "Medical Expertise" under day 4 is influenced by something on day 3.

Manage to get back into the Radius
Unmissable. Change into a man and then go back to the Radius at the Café.

...for a master painter
Eavesdrop on Klimt and the herbalist at the market
Immediately after solving the pi problem on the blackboard of the Radius, visit the Market while you wait for the members of the Radius to arrive. Klimt is on the right talking to the Herbalist.

Day 4 (Days later...)

Czentlewoman
Meet Leos in the Street as Emma
Leos only shows up if in episode 1 you told him to call Nikol and became his friend. Start the day as Emma. Go to the library and get the proof from Herr Wittgenstein before dining with Nenner as Emil. Return home to see Leos. This achievement cannot be received in the same save as "Czentleman".

Czentleman
Meet Leos in the Street as Emil
Leos only shows up if in episode 1 you told him to call Nikol and became his friend. Start the day as Emil. Get into the Radius (visit the Market to pass time - don't pass the time as Emma at the library yet) and solve the blackboard problem, and then dine with Nenner. Return to your apartment to see Leos. This achievement cannot be received in the same save as "Czentlewoman".

Ma'am, yes ma'am!
Tell Leos about Nikol's governess
Leos only shows up if in episode 1 you told him to call Nikol and became his friend. When Leos asks about Nikol's parents, choose the dialogue option "Her governess yells at her like a sergeant in the army!"

We're friends now
Become friends with Nikol
Leos only shows up if in episode 1 you told him to call Nikol and became his friend. When Leos asks about Nikol's parents, choose the dialogue option "She is my friend."

Medical Expertise
Find all references to Dr. Robert Koch
On day 3, make sure to ask Zahler "What is your area of expertise?" at the Radius.
On day 4, visit the library as Emil and ask Hugo the Librarian "Do you have something from or about..." > "...a 'Robert Koch'?"
You get the achievement after you've finished reading information about Koch.

Sweet sweet Sacher cake
Order more Sacher cake for Nenner
After you have joined Nenner to eat at the Café and have gotten up to leave, click on the Waiter and choose the dialogue options "I would like to order some cake for the gentleman." > "...Sachertorte, please." You can't get both this achievement and "Not my Pi" in the same save.

Not my Pi
Order the wrong sweets for Nenner
After getting up from eating with Nenner, click on the Waiter and order more cake. Order anything that isn't Sachertorte. You can't get this achievement and "Sweet sweet Sacher cake" in the same save.

Changing
Allow Markert to paint you
Join Nenner at the cafe to eat after visiting the Radius. When Franz comes up to you and asks to paint you, choose the dialogue option "I would be honoured!" You will get the achievement when you are painted by Franz Mackert later (after returning to your apartment, writing on the blackboard there, and then exiting dressed as Emil).

Locus Observandi
Change your perspective
Work at the library as Emma. You should get it after talking to Herr Wittgenstein and seeing the black triangular tunnel animation.

TLC
Inspire Wittgenstein
When you're working at the library as Emma and talking to Herr Wittgenstein, choose the following dialogue options "You're back from Manchester?" (any of the first ones work) > "If you don't know how to talk about it..."

Day 5 (Days later...)

Concocted Collection
Tell the policeman and blow the whistle on the painter
Visit the Market. By the Herbalist will be an Artist. Keep talking to him and keep choosing the dialogue option "What else do you have?" until the Artist tells you that he's sorry, but those are all the paintings he has with him today. Then go talk to the Policeman near the center of the Market and tell him "That man over there sells counterfeit paintings."

...and Omega
Make sure Rauch is alright
Unmissable. When you return to the Radius, Rauch will talk to you and then cough. You should get the achievement once you've asked if he is alright.

Day 6 (The next morning...)

No achievements for this day.

Day 7 (The next evening...)

Call me Em...
Say your name
When at the debate and Zahler asks what they should call you, choose the dialogue option "My name is Em."

Set
Get the support of other mathematicians
You get the achievement after Emma says "Wait a moment!" during the debate. Discuss your thesis with the other members of the radius so that they each say "change" in blue:

• On day 4 after solving the blackboard problem, be sure to talk to Nikic and Wurm before leaving the Radius.
  
• It was either day 4 or 5, but visit the Radius when only Rauch is there. Talk to Rauch about your thesis.
  
• On day 5 change into Emil before entering the library for the first time. This will trigger discussing your thesis with Eilrich.

Locus Operandi
Change Zahler's perspective
After Emma says there's a mistake in Zahler's thinking, say "Change your perspective".

Identity
Find yourself
Change from Emil to Emma and back a few times through the episode (visit the library as Emma on day 4, visit the market a couple times as Emma). The achievement will unlock soon after clicking on the leaf during the debate if Emma says that she is the proof.

Non-binary
Prove that there are many possible states and everything is in flux
During the debate, after Zahler recites Emma's theory, say that "There can be more than one destination state" (instead of saying "There don't need to be only two states"). You need to prove the theory like for the achievement "Identity", where Emma says she is the proof. The achievement pops up after you tell Zahler you respect his effort.

Finish Episode 3
It unlocks after getting all your statistics.

Finish all achievements in Episode 3
Guaranteed once you've unlocked all other achievements for episode 3.
