Reliable gold farming

A guide focused on farming gold slowly but reliably.

Disclaimer

Many people post guides and videos on how to make gold but this one is under-utilised and quite frankly is never detailed so because I myself found it useful I am posting it here with details and later pictures once I have them.

Please note that this method is agonisingly slow but it is reliable because once started you require little to no gold to maintain it and it does not need the auction house to get your gold.

What's needed

To make use of this guide a few things are needed.

1) Time and patience.
2) Preferably a teir 2 or 3 or better set of fishing gear
3) About 18 gold(No money making scheme ever starts for free no does it lol)
4) Access to Triatio highlands.

Note: The reason we use triatio is because the method requires we get our hands on 3 certain items and while we can get these items from the same grade fish on any map the fish we target in Triatio has a smaller drop pool than any other fish so far as I know and the bait we want for it is cheap. This means fishing for it is sustainable and we get a slightly better chance at our wanted items then anywhere else.

Method

Ok so now we have our fishing gear together(The better the gear the faster this goes so always keep looking for better sets) and we have arived at Triatio Highlands.

Step 1) Go to our fishing hole.

Step 2) Buy 1000 earthworms from the fishing merchant nearby(Should cost about 18 gold)

Step 3) Go fishing.

Note: This step is not the end product and you can do it a lazy way. By Setting the character up to auto-fish you will catch lots of junk fish while you read a book or watch a movie or something but make sure you keep your ear out fo the louder more grating sound of a heavy fish on the line.( you will know what I mean when you hear it) This is an Orange grade fish(In this case a Highlands Ghost crab) and you want to switch back to the game and manually reel him in because auto-fishing will NOT let you catch orange grade fish.

Step 4) Now you have used all 1000 earthworms it is time to open your fish. So open all the
Ghost Crabs you got and see what you get.


Step 5) I will note all the items you can get in the other fish later but in the Ghost crab you
will come across a number of items we need. 1st is a recipe for a Sturdy Fishbone
Hauberk which is a nice piece of fishing gear if you can get the whole set
(I will note this and other inmy fishing section later in the guide).


2nd is Materials needed for crafting fishing gear
(keep these for a later step)
3rd is our real target. 3 items named Gold Fish, Platinum Fish
and Diamond Fish. These 3 items sell for 1G, 5G and 50G respecively with
each being increasingly rarer than the one before
(example platinum is much harder to find than gold)


Step 6) Go to Anglers Anonymous Merchant Annette in Navea
and sell all your Gold, Silver and Platinum fish for gold.
Also sell all the materials you got from the orange fish as this will get you Fishing Tokens.

Step 7) Use your new fishing tokens to buy the Fresh River Snail.
Buy as many as you can afford. The more the better but only up to 1000.
Use this instead of earthworms as unlike the worms this will get you a ghost crab in
Triatio 100% of the time as long as you are not auto-fishing.

End result) You can now fish for the Highlands Ghost crab and not have to bother with
Lower class fish and also you no longer need gold to do this.
You can also get our 3 gold making items to sell for gold and more items
to sell for fishing tokens at ZERO expense.
I also believe you will have repaid the original 18G by the time you used
all your Fresh River Snails so from then on it's pure proffit.

NOTE: Whenever you manually fish you may encounter penguins is varrying strength which will try to steal your fish. Which penguin you get will depend on the fish you reel in.
Regular fish of white and green quality will give you Penguin bandit and defeating him will give Bandit tokens, Orange quality such as Highland Ghost crab will give you Nymphet Pictured Below


Which gives you her token Small Tea Flower.
For Fish kings it's Nebuchadnezzer who gives you his dagger.
All these items can be exchanged with one of the fishing Association NPCs in Navea for a lucky pack which conteins either fishing equipment relative to the penguin you got it from or Materials which can be used for crafting fishing gear or sold for fishing tokens.

Notes about updates

Please note that while the guide for making gold is all but complete I still intend to add a section about general fishing including a recommended path of gear, contentes of certain fish and other things.
I also intend to post pictures to ilustrate the guide.

I actually might play this again when I can afford a better computer. I'm using a pretty basic laptop now which isn't great for gaming but my internet connection is way better than it was back then so playing this now would actually be fun now lol.

If you get into it then remember that like fishing purchasing and getting your hands on certain gear if I remember correctly can make the job a lot easier. Besides that it's just practice. I got pretty good at it when I still played. I was making Legendary items with every other time I cooked for a lot of profit. It can be hard at low levels and leveling the skill takes a lot of effort. But it's worth it. Don't know about now but back then a lot of people avoided doing it but the food is so useful so if you put the effort in and can fairly consistently max out the guage for double items you can sell the food on and make some great gold.

lol maybe. But I made this a long time ago. I don't even play anymore honestly. I was just so sick of finding guides on making gold that either relied on selling stuff to other players and would often be outdated or inacurate after a short time or relied on running high level content which newbies couldn't handle. This was just an easy way to make gold at a reliable if slow pace which would likely not change for a long time and can be done pretty soon in the game if you work on it.

Honestly if you want to make gold quicker I highly recommend getting good at the cooking minigame then go looking for ingredients for food which sells well to other players. It helps that the more you do it the better stuff you can cook and not only is the food worth a lot of money but it's also incredibly useful.

I'd say, instead of just 18 gold as the requirement, add (Or 1000 earthworms). I just got 1000 from leveling up, which is why I thought it might be useful

I haven't had a reliable PC in a while and have been busy and broke to buy one so I have not been playing. I WILL play again someday and update this with fishing gear and other stuff but that will be a long while off yet.

Glad it helped. Like I said it's more than possible to get way richer way faster but I found this way easier and lower stress. Not to mention has zero risk involved.

It's a good way to make a little gold when you not feeling like real grinding or other things. Nowhere near as good as COOKING but easier and a little more reliable.

is called gold grinding :P i do this when i am done with the quests and is bored af.Mostly I end up dozing off and sleeping in the chair :C
