Prison crashes: AMD & RX card solution
By Banana Crayons[Sad Forever][RIP]
There are loads of players getting crashes in the "Chapter 4 - Eisenwald Prison" & nothing has been done or found by devs, but this worked for me & some others.

This is for AMD users, it worked fine for my RX480.

Handy fix for AMD cards!
This is a simple fix for an annoying crash in "Chapter 4 - Eisenwald Prison".
Before using this, the only way was to run everything on low & Vsync off which for some reason would struggle at 25-30fps, but would still crash at times.

Once I did this, I was able to run everything on max' again with no problems.

Whilst there's no guarantee this'll solve it for everyone, it's worth a shot when you're already pulling out hair & about to un-install the game ;)
Download from Guru3D site.
You'll need the Radeonmod file from Guru3D[www.guru3d.com] to get started.

Once you've downloaded the archive, you can put it anywhere you want.

Unarchive it & then run the Radeonmod file, then we can get started.
Back-up registry before we get started.
Once you've got Radeonmod up & running, make a back-up of your registry.
Save it anywhere you want, just in case you want to revert things.

Altering parts in Radeonmod.
First off, go to the "UMD" tab shown on this image, then scroll down & select "CatalystAI_DEF".

Left clicking on "CatalystAI_DEF" brings up this option to change the settings.
Click the "0" button, then press "OK".

Now left click on "CatalystAI" & press the quick modify "0" button, followed by "OK".

Now that's done, simply press "Restart Driver" at the bottom right & sit back whilst it does that.
It only takes a few seconds, screen will go blank whilst it restarts, so don't panic ;)

Do a reboot to make sure things work, but it's not required. It worked for me without doing one, but one person said they had to do a reboot.

You can now close Radeonmod, as it's not needed any more.
You also never need to run this when playing the game, but keep it somewhere just in case.

Apparently Wolfenstein: The Old Blood has problems too, but I've not played it yet so no idea if this fix will work for that game.

Will update if/when I do.
Load the game!
Go to options once the game is loaded & turn off Vsync.

Some users have problems with Vsync, but it works both on or off for me.
Or you can try Adaptive sync by using the console command.
"r_swapInterval 1"

It seems it's just something in the Prison area, as rest of the game runs great on max with plenty of fps to spare :)

That's it, enjoy the game.

Does not work for AMD RX 5000 series cards. After doing this, I couldn't run opengl games anymore, even after restoring the original settings with radeonpro. I had to DDU the drivers and manually enable my GPU on device manager to install the drivers (somehow this "tweak" fucked my gpu). I wouldn't risk it.

This worked for me too! How tf did they screw up optimization this bad?

Current build:
i5 4440
XFX RX 580 8 GB
16 GB RAM @ 1333MHz
All stock cooling

At first it would barely run at 30fps with everything minned out at 720p, now I'm hitting 55-60fps easy on highest possible settings 1080p!
