Destruction Skill Damage Scaling!

Beskrivelse
Magic damage scales off Destruction skill level! Your spell damage will increase by 1% per skill level, thus doing double damage with 100 skill.

Bonuses compared to other spell damage mods? The bonus damage is entirely based on your Destruction level, you don't need to put any points in perks if you don't want. The gradual increase also means that you don't have any dramatic power spikes or pits as you get new perks. No perk tree shenanigans also means that if you uninstall this mod you won't lose any points to perks that cease to exist.

The downside is that there is no fiddling with existing spell or perk effects, if you're into that. If not that can totally be another plus!

You should be able to install this on top of another magic damage mod, for super overpowered fireballs. Be aware that it appears every seperate magic damage bonus is calculated ingame to stack multiplicatively, not additively, leading to crazy damage values if you do such a thing. But it's singleplayer, no one will judge you.

You should be able to apply the effect to your character ingame by touching a Standing Stone, however there may be a bug/quirk I can't find in the creation kit preventing some correct file change from being uploaded properly. If this is the case as a workaround you can open the console with ~ then type "help destructionscaling 4" without the quotes to get the reference number, then type "player.addperk xxxxxxxx" with the reference number you just got in place of the xs.

Update: The Creation Kit appears to not include the script file to make the stones work. You can download the hopefully working version from here: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=8636

can you do this for other schools of magic (restoration, conjuration, etc)

Could you increase the damage to maybe 1.5%?

Does it also change the enemys magic?

I haven't actually played Skyrim in a long time and don't have it currently installed, so I can't check myself now, but if the easier adding script conflicts with something you can try using the mod without the script and adding the perk to new characters via the console as described. If that still conflicts with another mod my best wild guess is that someone named something in their mod exactly the same thing as I did. That or they made such a giant overhaul of everything that it will have lots of conflicts and errors with any mods that involve perks.

This mod doesn't seem to be compatible with the "Invested magic" mod. People trying to overhaul the magic system will want to take that into account. The moment I touched the standing stone to activate this mod, invested magic lost its effect and I had to load a savegame made prior to the touching to make it work again.

Thank you so much. By far my favorite mod, this made skyrim playable for me again after I got utterly burned out on the less than stellar melee combat.

Is it possible to make a version that adds %2 per skill point? Maybe a little menu to choose, or a different file, whichever is easiest for you to do? It's just that at really high levels, even double damage does not cut it against giants and dragon priests and large numbers of monsters.

will this work in conjunction with Midas Magic?
