How to join / leave the official PAYDAY 2 Commuity

This guide will be an in depth explanation on how to join and leave the official Payday 2 Community Group on Steam.
Being part of this group offers a number of advantages in the game, such as new Heists, playable Characters, Masks, Weapons and Weapon modifications.

How to join the Payday 2 Steam Community Group

To join the group, select Payday 2 in your library and click on Community Hub.




Then press the Follow button to join the group.




Once you have done this, you are part of the Steam Group and will be informed whenever there is an Event or an Announcement. You will also have access to certain in-game content.

How to leave the Payday 2 Steam Community Group

To leave the Payday 2 Steam Group, select Payday 2 in your library and press Community Hub.




Then, press the Stop Following button.


Once you have done this, you will no longer recive Notifications or informations about Group Events or Anouncements. You will also no longer have access to the in-game contet which you unlock by joining the Community Group.

Which in-game content is locked behind being part of the Commuity Group?

FAQ

I joined the group but do not have access to some of the content!

To use some of the content you still have to play the game for some time.
The masks as well as some of the weapon modifications can only be obtained by card drops at the end of an successful heist.

Weapons are locked behind your in-game level. The higher your level is, the more weapons will be available for you to use.

The Old Hoxton Character, as well as the Nova's Shank melee weapon are locked behind an Achievement.
To play as Hoxton and to unlock the Nova's Shank melee weapon you have to compleate the Hoxton Breakout heist on any difficulty at least once. This also unlocks the Why Don’t We Just Use a Spoon? Achievement.

I have played the Hoxton Breakout heist and still can not play as Hoxton / use the Nova's Shank melee!

Keep in mind that you have to play the heist from beginning to the end. To be absolutely sure you meet this, try to host the heist yourself.

I still get notifications even after I have left the Steam Group!

If thats the case, restart Steam and un-follow the group again.
