Using the "nodedebugvis" command in Tattletail, I have managed to figure out how Mama was made and how she works in Tattletail.

Throughout this Guide, I will explain to you how Mama actually works inside of this game
of nightmares and how you can understand where she keeps on coming from!

The Explanation

In this screenshot, Posteffects is false and fullbright is true

From the Screenshot, I have discovered that Mama works on a Node-based system that works using the visibility of the player in conjunction to the position of the node. The nodes are placed in specific locations (GREEN CIRCLES) and are the places where Mama can spawn in the level, This is Level 4 at the first hide and seek game.

These nodes look for visibility to the player and if they're unable to achieve a DIRECT line of sight to the player, they will go RED and become NULL/Inactive. This disables the node as it prevents Mama from spawning in places where she would be ineffective, preventing you from getting a playthrough where you never saw Mama but making it so no experience is the same as Mama can teleport between these placed nodes randomly on each playthrough, as long as the node is active (GREEN).
