Piano Puzzle Solution

Solution

Once you have the 8-track tape (track 4) playing through the broadcasting room, a series of notes will keep playing through the hallways. You need to go into the music room and play the same notes on the piano.

There are seven functional keys on the piano. I have labelled them, from left to right, 1-7.


The tune is 2-3-2-7-7-6-5-3-2.

Press the respective keys in order and you should be able to open the birdcage. If you make a mistake, you can just start from 2 again.

Spent waaaay too long trying different combinations of notes before resorting to this guide, some of the notes sound too similar to others and the melody should be in the same room as the piano for reference, bad design and having to go out of the game is never fun, kills immersion lol.

I remember figuring out the Piano puzzle in Silent Hill 1, but not having the Piano music play inside the Piano Room made it very difficult to compare notes.

Thanks a bunch for this! The puzzle's logic is really obvious: Reproduce the sound in the tape. But to figure out each tone and reproduce correctly was to much of a hassle for me to bother, lol.
