How to win Unfair Challenge on INSANE difficulty
By Moki
Are You Not Entertained achievement is currently the second rarest achievement in the game with only 0.5% of players unlocking it. That might seem quite intimidating, however truth is - most people don't even bother trying. I was able to complete Unfair Challenge on INSANE on my second try and you will be too if you follow this guide!

Team Composition
My personal Unfair Challenge (both INSANE and regular difficulty) composition is 3x Hair Troll. These guys are super-awesome for several reasons.

1. They regenerate every round
- This is crucial since you have to make it through 3 rounds of the Pit. When you start a new round (2nd and 3rd), you will continue with the same amount of HP you've had last round. I also tried composition with cupcakes/mascots, but it's hard to keep them alive.

2. They can move 3 tiles
- This is really important because it gives you ability to out-maneuver your opponents. You can also catch up with archers and other ranged units easily and deny them (remember - if you stand right next to an archer, he will have to move to be able to shoot you, wasting half of his ammo in the process).

3. They have insane amount of HP
- Trolls have the most HP of all creatures. That's obviously great, but what's even better is that every time you level up, you will get healed up back to 100% HP. This is EXTREMELY IMPORTANT. Managing your level ups is fundamental part of beating this challenge! See Combat Tips section for details.

4. They are easier to manage than 4+ units
- Simply said, taking care of just 3 characters is way easier than having to manage 6 of them. This makes decision making easier.

I would advise you to have them slightly leveled up (ideally level 20), however it can be done with level 1 Trolls if you're playing well and luck is on your side.
What's different on INSANE difficulty?

From what I've noticed, insane difficulty adds three things:

1. More enemies
- Generally, there's going to be one or two more enemies per wave.

2. Different compositions
- Some new waves of enemies might appear. I had to fight 2x Troll Mother + 2x Octoclops. That fight was insanely hard and I almost lost due to Octoclops usually turning at least 1 Troll against me. Keep in mind that when you kill a Troll Mother, all her spawnlings will die!

3. Higher change that status effects will proc (stun, slow, freeze, ...)
- I have no proof of this however I am almost 100% certain that status effects from your enemies proc more often than on regular difficulty. Almost every round I had some kind of condition applied to one of my units (slow, stun etc.). That means focusing units which can stun or otherwise impair you should be higher priority.
Combat tips
There's several things you will need to keep in mind pretty much every round in order to succeed. After you played the game for a couple hours, they will become second nature, so don't worry it you're forgetting about them.

1. Watch out for level ups!
- If you only remember one thing, remember this. It's almost impossible to finish the challenge without managing your level ups! Level and level progress shows up in the bottom left corner when your unit is selected. Using the unit (attacking, trapping, healing etc.) will progress the bar until it reaches 100%. When that happens, your unit gets fully healed! Last-hitting (killing blow) enemies will yield you bonus XP.

Sometimes when your Troll is really low on HP but close to level up (happens more often than you think) you may need to make sure he deals the killing blow to get the bonus XP. Or when your Troll has almost full HP, you might want him to NOT deal the killing blow, so another troll can come close to level up.

After a while you will learn how to abuse this system to keep your units healed, but it takes a while to get used to.

2. Your Trolls regenerate each turn
- When you end your round, your trolls will regenerate. This can be abused at the end of the round when there's only one enemy left. You can run around the battlefield and heal up before killing the last unit so you start the next round fully healed. I wouldn't be able to finish the challenge without this trick.

3. Watch out for random throws
- Once in a while (around 25-33% chance) your Troll will throw the unit behind him instead of doing the regular attack. This can be used to your advantage (to get enemy away from Troll with low HP or to throw enemy into spikes!). It can also screw you over (when 3 Trolls are attacking single unit and the first Troll to attack it throws it away, the other two will waste their turn doing nothing).

4. Deny archers/mortars/rainbow horses
- When you stand next to an archer, he won't be able to shoot. He will have to move and when he does that, he loses half of his ammo. Mortars cannot shoot when you are too close to them and same goes for Rainbow Horses. Keep this in mind!

5. Use environment
- Some maps have special tiles with slow you down or damage you when you step on them. Enemies usually don't worry too much about it and they might step on them by themselves, or you can simply throw them on one of spikes with your Troll's special attack.

you can also get a friend and go quad troll moms... its more effective than youd think as the minions can take a hit and come at quite a good rate so long as everyone stays alive

I did this one today, insane mode. Team: Vampiress hero (no helmet, moves 5 steps), troll mom, 2 mortars. I did it in the second try (the first one I had bad luck and faced 4 kobolds 1st round and killed the mortars). The trick is wait a couple of turns or mortar fire, then outflank with vampiress while troll babies annnoy the AI. Vampiress atract some enemy units and divide them, giving time to troll mom to hold the line and giving mortars more time to attack. Vampiress sucks heal and that aids, but anyway you nedd to take care of the leves, as has been said

Just so you know I fought the OctoMom loadout in normals. How has this setup worked for you since the nerf?

I have a quick question about this setup. Do you think that it's better to have low level characters to upgrade their levels faster or to have more experienced fighters, who deal more damage and have more health, but can't restore their health by leveling up so often? I tried many times with my three trolls (levels 30, 45 and 60) and it's quite hard, however still better than any other fighters setup that comes to my mind :) Thanks in advance! :bbtduckshark:

Then you might be doing something wrong. I am able to finish 75% of the time. You have to keep in mind all the tips I wrote down and also make sure you have correct positioning (for example if there's a lot of Mushroom enemies then you should keep your Trolls separated by at least two blocks).
