This is the original Lost City mission from Thief: The Dark Project with changes required to fit it into expanded Thief Gold story properly.

Description

One of the best games of all time, Thief Gold is an improved version of the Thief: The Dark Project with added levels and changes to original levels. In general, these changes were positive, but some of them were not so good. For example, the added Thieves Guild mission has the most complex map in all Thief games, it is very easy to get lost, causing much frustration for first time players.

Obviously, minor spoilers follow, they are needed to describe why you may consider installing this mod.

There are many differences between original and Gold version of the Lost City mission, the main one being that many human enemies where added to the mission, significantly changing its feel from exploration of a long forgotten place to more generic one, similar to other missions of the game where you are against human enemies.

This is a matter of taste which mission types you prefer - for example, many people like Thief 2 more thank Thief 1 because it contains mostly human enemies instead of mixed approach in Thief 1 or Thief Gold where you have both human and supernatural enemies.

If you like more diversity in mission types or you already played the original Lost City version back then and like it more (like me), I suggest you try this modified mission file. This is the original Lost City mission from Thief: The Dark Project with changes required to fit it into expanded Thief Gold story properly (spoiler if you're playing the game for the first time: Talisman of Water and the goal to find it have been removed from the mission since you get it in another mission in Thief Gold, Song of the Caverns). Installation

Installation is simple - just download this file and extract the only file inside, Miss9.mis, to the game folder overwriting the exiting one (link[www85.zippyshare.com]).

It is also highly recommended to install the latest TFix version (there are several guides here that cover this) or the game will work partially (for example, skipping cutscenes that are tremendously important in this game) or don't work at all.

Original lost city mission was my favourite, and one of my favourite levels in any video game. The new one was still good, but just missing the atmosphere.
