ENIGMA: ENHANCED GRAPHIC Guide [May No Longer Work due to game update]

Patching this game Graphical contents from 800x600 to 1440x1080.

Overview

ENIGMA: uses 800x600 graphic assets. If you by any chance have a Full HD display, which is quite common these days, you should notice the graphic is a little blurry. Of course, to some, it's not a big deal, but there are other people, including me, who would definitely mind something like 800x600. So I made this patch to please myself and, hopefully, can please others as well.

Comparison and Installation

This patch will add:

• Improved graphical contents: all CGs, sprites and other images are enhanced to match 1080p quality.
  
• Improved video: video are remade to a higher resolution (1440x1080), better quality, and also 60 FPS. (real 60 FPS, no duplicated frames)

Though I don't think Video assets can be considered as much of an improvement as the CGs and Sprites, mainly because I have to render the video at .wmv (VC1-wmv3) for the game engine to recognize and able to run it, and .wmv is a stupid format, with inferior quality compared to h264. Basically, the video could be better, but the game engine prevents that.

How to install:

• Step 2: Move or Copy that file to the game installation folder, and replace the data.xp3 already there.

It's as simple as that, and you are good to go.

Known Issues

0- It does not work with old save. You need to "Start" new game and abuse the "Skip" button
1- When you first run the game with the patch, it output a weird resolution, maybe like this:
It is because the game has not updated the resolution.
Solution: Simply go to the Screen Settings to change the resolution to anything, and it should work fine.
2- When you are in game but you do not see the lower buttons like Q.Save, Q.Load, Skip... etc below the text box, it is because you are playing at Windowed Mode with a resolution that has the same height as that of your screen.
For example, your screen resolution is 1920x1080, and you play the game at 1440x1080, you will probably find the lower buttons missing, because the game has to spare some gap, for the task bar and the menu bar.
Solution: Simply switch to a lower resolution, or run in Full Screen to fix the problem.
3- Text is smaller.
Yup, that is true. 1.8 times smaller to be precise. I still have not been able to figure out how to fix this, but honestly, I think the previous fontsize is a little big, so I am happy with this.
However, if anyone can show me a solution, I am all ears.
[Updated] Problem fixed. Text is bigger but not as big as the ordinal .xp3 file.
i supposed this patch is fully functional now. I will take this as an example for future patch if any.

Random Thoughts

- It took me whole week to do this.
- I wish I have enough patience to do this to Magical Eyes - Red is for Anguish.
- I don't even know what is the programming language used in Kirikiri, honestly.
- I had to trade my Steam key with a friend, for this game as Steam gift, in order for my review to be counted towards the score :|

Yo :D i used this while playing (and it certainly made experience better) but for some reason there are cg missing on the second half of the first page, most of them being related to lauro (even after i completed the whole game, and the ending is upside down? Just reporting this, I am not sure if it was the same for everyone though.

But also, thanks, you have had incredible ammount of patience for this and i loved playing in HD :D

Waifu X2 the assets. But of course you need to change the game code as well, else the game is basically fucked.
So, yeah, waifu X2 + changing game code + packing/repacking.
