getting the mega gong

This is a guide on how to get the mega gong. The mega gong takes a long time to get and the chances are slim so there are no guarentees but using this guide you can improve your chances.

What is the mega gong?

The mega gong is the most powerful wepon in the game. It is crafted from three lesser gongs, one from each biome. Each of these gongs has a very low chance of dropping. There is no guarentee that this guide will get you the megagong it will just improve your chances.

Fish farms

With such a low chance to get one of the gongs you want to able to fish more often. With fish food you will be able create a fishing hole so with a lot of fish food you can make a giant fish farm. This is the savanna fish food. There is a fish food for each biome the savanna, the bawg, and the tundra. to be able to create fishing holes in each biome you need the corasponding fish food.

nasty lure

The nasty lure is a trinket near the end of your quest in the savanna. When equipped it will improve the fish that appear in the fishing hole by a small amount. And more fish means more chances for the megagong

Fish Shrines

Fish shrines are yellow shrines that are randomly spawned in the savvana, bawg, and tundra. They increase the fish that spawn in fishing holes by quite a lot for 5 minuets. You can make them on your map by placing a sign and typing fish shrine.

gulanti

The gulanti is a pet that can be found in the tundra. Every pet has a symbiotic effect, or an effect that you gain when you equippt that pet. For this pet its improved treasure chance which among other things improves the number of fish found in fishing holes.

Finishing the megagong

Once you have the three other gongs you will need to find vrrdunn's fishery.
he will give you a mega gong quest and once you have all three gongs he will give you the recipe for the megagong lure
You will then need to fish more till you get the megagong ( i belevie its a higher chance of getting then the other three were cause i got it pretty quickly)

and then the megagong i literally got within 5 fishingholes after crafting the megagong bait

yeah the savannah gong i luckily got just randomly in before i even got to the bawg and also before i even knew about them but then the other two took me forever

I think the drop rate of the final weapon (materials) forces players to spend many unnecessary time
they have 3 options:
those with unbelievably luck can get megagong within an hour;
getting them in a normal way (fish or bombs then wait for 2H) might take a week;
using tricks lol

after another 4 hours I finally get all of the 3 gong
then I spend 20 mins to fish the megagong
the drop rate of the final weapon (and it's materials) is too crazy, I think

yeah even using all these methods it can still take a while, just keep it up and good luck

I get the Tundra gong using this method
But other two gong are driving me mad
3hours and I haven't get them yet

lol omg i got the tundra one (the of the quadropus one) on like my 10th try fishing and i had no idea what it is... I just realized what it is in my inventory cause i was equipping a weap

Make like 30 fish holes in each area. Grind out 10 or so fish magnets/fish bombs for each area. Save. Go offline on your friends list so you're not annoying your frists with constant updates. =]. Here's the process: Exit house...bomb until most the holes are completed. Gong? Hit Pause (this automatically saves your inventory.) Move onto next area. No gong? DON'T HIT PAUSE. This will save your Bomb count. Cntrl + Alt + Del. Crashlands: End Task. Reboot. You will spawn with original amount of bombs and all fish spots replenished. Repeat. Took me an hour of just doing this to get Bawg + Tundra gong. May want to back up your save cause I could see it getting corrupted this way.
