Hi all,

Have you ever wanted to blast those xeno scum with Fallen Empire might? Have you ever wanted to arrange a demonstration of your superior technology to savages and heretics? Now you can with this mod! I have made this mod because some people asked for just the researchable Titan Laser as an upgrade to Tachyon lance, so I have taken the liberty to dissect my original mod:

Please check that out as Titan Lasers make other XL obsolete and so do consider downsizing them for large slots instead!

What this mod does:

-Allows for the research of Titan Laser, an XL weapon of enormous damage potential. Only Fallen Empire have access to this weapon in vanilla.

-The technology prerequisite for Titan Laser is Tachyon Lance.

-Now you can choose between Red/Blue/Green Titan Lasers (only cosmetic differences).

-When you have researched both Titan Laser and Matter Disintegrator, you can research a new XL weapon called the Titan Disintegrator, a more powerful version of the Titan Laser. A fitting reward for defeating the Unbidden.




Compatibility:

This mod should be compatible with everything. If not, let me know.

Also, if you already have my original mod Titan Laser + Resized Lances, then you already have all the functionalities of this one.

18/11/2016 - Mod uploaded. Added 3 colours for titan lasers.

19/11/2016 - Potential fix for compatibility with ISB Graphics. Updated the icons for titan lasers (credit to Zeratul Vergil.)

20/11/2016 - This mod is now compatible with ISB and NSC. Enhanced icons for titan lasers and Titan Disintegrator. Added appropriate technology to research Titan Disintegrator. Fixed the stats and audio of Titan Disintegrator.

21/11/2016 - Titan Disintegrator tech is now rare and requires Matter Disintegrator.

22/11/2016 - Fixed broken Titan Lasers tooltips.

23/11/2016 - Fixed instances where Titan Disintegrator doesn't show up for research. Updated images on steam (thanks Tiberiumkyle for the screenshot donations :D)

24/11/2016 - Made Titan Laser tech rare. Prerequisites are still the same.

25/11/2016 - Titan Laser tech costs have been doubled due to balancing feedback.

26/11/2016 - The cost of mounting Titan Laser has been doubled due to inflation, and the Titan Laser tech is now a dangerous tech. Research at your own risk...

I find the "changing the slots from XL to L" is far too OP. XL weapons are meant to be OP, and few players can use it. I AM glad that this mod exists, but golly is it powerful if you get it first!

i'll have an fleet (NSC) with 200k upgraded with this OP af lasers and it got an 615k fleet. wtf dude, this is hard to beat.

@Schnabelwesen Glad you like this mod. I didn't know that being overrun by FE would be enjoyable... xD For me personally I don't research Titan Laser until I'm ready for a big fight haha.

Yup! And I was run over by an FE like 30 minutes later. XD
Maybe it's smarter to build many ships first and leave their slots empty before finishing that research. ^^

@xomm I love hearing these stories haha. I didn't know rebels have access to Overlord's technology, that's interesting. Leviathans can mount a modeule with 300%+ damage increase boost to its weapons since it only has a few weapon slots, so I think Titan Disintegrators buffed in this case would be quite powerful, yes.

However, as the Overlord, you have the capability to outproduce these rebels and maybe even jump in behind their fleet so you melt all their Leviathans from behind before they can do anything :D
