Supernatural Entities (Werewolf and Vampire Guide)
โดย Schism
Skyrim is filled with wonderous sights, horrifying monsters, and giant spiders, which are frequently replaced with SpiderMan due to arachnophobia. But one thing is for certain, one of the most talked about creatures are the Vampires and Werewolves.

This is a remastered version of a Guide I made for the original Skyrim, however, I remade it for use on here, now including Werewolf information.

Supernatural Entities
Vampires or Werewolf? The age old question, and many are all so broken up about it. Today, we'll explain both of them, and help you decide which one is best for you!

A Vampire Lord (left) and a Werewolf (right)
Vampires
The Night Walkers... The Blood Suckers... The Edgy Teenager's wet dream... Or maybe just something really cool for some people.

HOW TO BECOME A VAMPIRE

Well, of course you might want to BECOME one before I teach you what you can do. First of all, your going to have to find a vampire cave, which is easy in the Dawnguard DLC. Find a vampire and let it find you (Important note: Don't kill it! If you do, you will have to find another vampire to plaugue you with Sanguare Vampiris. I'll tell you what it is later) and attack you while you have whatever healing spell that heals you. This may take a while so be patient. When you see something on screen saying "You have contacted Sanguare Vampiris" that means your on your second step on being a vampire. You may have some weakness in health so stay in citys (that don't have a bounty on you) and stay there until you become a vampire.

After three days, you should be a vampire by now. If not, you forgot to save your game if you don't have autosave on. Now your a vampire, you evil bloodsucker you!

However, within Special Edition, there is another way to become a more buffed out Vampire, and in the original version, was only included in the Dawnguard DLC.

You will have to join the Dawnguard and go to a cave where you rescue and follow a female vampire named Serana that will lead you to a vampire castle. The vampire leader named Lord Harkon will offer you vampire powers beyond what you have as a non-dlc vampire. Accept and you will become a Vampire Lord.

What if you don't want that creep to turn you into that? What if you want that other vampire you rescued in that cave? Decline and later on in the game, you will open a portal to the soul cairn and the only way to enter, is if you throw a sould gem in it, or let her turn you into a vampire. Accept the vampire path, and you will be a bloodsucker forever (until you type in the command in the console).

POWERS, PROS, AND CONS

Vampires have special powers such as life drain I beleive and the ability to kill people in their sleep (you can probably guess how. Hint to do that: Sneak, then press whaterver you have to interact with others, and select "Feed")

You also are stronger than a regular person in skyrim. You have better melee combat strength to battle. You also get special powers the less you feed! Isn't that great! But... well...

There are a few bad things about vampires. One, their not those cheesy and stupid twighlight vampires, the are actually WEAK in the sunlight. They also get chased out of town at stage 4 vampire, so make sure you feed, and feed often. The worst part is, your weakness to sun gets WORSE every day you spend without blood! This also goes for fire. Vampires have a Fire Weakness that increases every stage, meaning that anything fire-based is bound to hit you harder than before. However, you can negate this using fire resistance, so mid-game, as long as you have fire resistance, you should be okay.
IS THERE A CURE?

Once you contact the disease, there are two ways to get rid of it until it's to late! One way is to cure yourself is to buy (or make) a potion that cures all diseases or go to a temple (I suggest go to the nearest stronghold) and click on the shrine and you've been instantly cured. Another way to cure yourself, is by pressing ~ and typing "000eafd5 10" without quotations. You can also do it legitimatly by speaking to an exluded and shunned wizard within Morthal named Falion . Do what he tells you to do and he will successfully cure you.

FAQ (Vampires)
Q: Can you become a hybrid of a vampire and werewolf using the Dawnguard method of vampirism?
A: Straight up no. Both forms are for different types of players. Vampires for characters like spellswords, rogues and stealth, while werewolves are more accustomed to Warrior classes.

Q: Will the vampire disease be spread if I feed?
A: No, however, Brehanin's Better Vampired mod (formerly on steam) can do just that, and is found on the Skyrim Nexus.

Q: What is a good cave to use to find Vampires?
A: Movarth's Lair north of Morthal

Q: I can't get infected (Non-DLC)
A: If you are already a werewolf, you cannot be infected. Check your magic tab to see if you're immune to disease.

Q: Can you be reinfected?
A: Yes, you can. If you speak to Harkon or Serana (if using the Dawnguard method) you may ask them to bestow upon you the gift of Vampirism again. For Vanilla, you can reinfect yourself the same way you did the first time.
Werewolf
The life of a werewolf is much more laid back than that of the undead, however limited to one simple form.
BECOMING PART OF THE PACK

Becoming a Werewolf is fairly easy. To avoid spoilers, I'll simply say that you need to go through the companions questline.

PROS AND CONS

As a soul claimed by Hircine, you gain a 100% resistance to ALL diseases. This includes vampirism. This is already significantly useful against Vampire enemies, and skeevers. Also, Werewolf form.

Consequences however, include the inability to recieve a bonus for sleeping, rendering beds useless. Another issue is the werewolf form itself. You cannot use weapons and armor in Beast form, so you heavily rely on your damage and health, which doesn't level with you much, making end-game battles difficult. However, there are mods that fix this, so it isn't an entire loss.

WISH FOR SOVNGARDE

If you think being a werewolf isn't the best thing you've done, and reconsidered it, you may want to get an extra Grenmoril Witch head for yourself when you get a chance. Here, you can cure yourself of lycanthropy, and fight the beast within. However, a quicker way, is to speak to either Harkon or Serana, who will bite you directly, getting rid of the werewolf abilities, and turning you into a vampire, since you can't be both.
FAQ (Werewolf)
Q: Can you become a hybrid of a vampire and werewolf using the Dawnguard method of vampirism?
A: Straight up no. Both forms are for different types of players. Vampires for characters like spellswords, rogues and stealth, while werewolves are more accustomed to Warrior classes.
HOWEVER, you can change this by downloading the "Tainted Blood of the Dragonborn" mod.
Leveling Up
Because this was wanted on a 5+ year old guide, I've decided to add onto how to level these two forms individually.

Each form's levels are based on specific actions with that specific form. The Vampire Lord bite execution and the Werewolf "Eat Heart" interaction both increase your progress towards another skill point. While the Werewolf is essentially limited to just consuming corpses, the Vampire Lord can also level using their Vampiric Drain ability.

Bethesda has decided to not add the Werecroc, but the Werebears DO exist in the Dragonborn DLC in Solsteim, and can 100% be used if you have a mod that allows Werebear transformation.

When playing as the Werewolf, in Vanilla mode, you can simply press the Wait Button to pass time. When the waiting process is over (I usually do an Hour, but you can try for a full day if needed), the werewolf form will wear off.
