Attribute Points and How Much?
Attribute Points are the points you use to boost your character's stats.
These stats are:
  • Health
  • Ki
  • Stamina
  • Basic Attack
  • Strike Supers
  • Ki Blast Supers

What's the total amount?
The total amount of points you can get through reaching level 80 (the max level) is - 332.
Boosting the attribute cap
The standard max cap for the amount of points you can put into one attribute is 100 points. However, this can be increased to 125 if you do the chain of quests at Guru's house. To give a run down for this quest chain and how and what happens, here it is.

You can reach Guru's House after a certain part in the story, this is when Supreme Kai of Time asks you to visit each 'rift'. His house can be accessed through either: flying to the point on the map, which is between the Bamboo District area (above and away from the house) and the Ajisa District, or by just simply using a Transfer Bot. Upon reaching Guru's House, Nail is the one who offers the missions to collect dragon balls. There is about 6 missions in total and eventually as you go through the missions, Nail will let you see Guru. I believe this is after mission 5.

[Writer: I'm not entirely sure about how many missions there are in total and also not 100% certain about what points you can meet Guru].

When you meet Guru, he will 'unleash your potential' and increase your maximum cap of 100 to 125. *Mind you, this isn't the transformation 'Potential Unleashed' of which the latter you get from Elder Kai and the Advancement Tests.

Extra: Upon completing Nail's quests a second time, Guru will upgrade the wishes in the Dragon Balls (simply adding more to choose). Despite his wording, it doesn't mean you can get another wish from him or so. It's simply an upgrade. He also gives you another item as well with this Dragon Ball upgrade. This item is for the post-game - Distorted Time Egg. .[/spoiler]
The amount of attribute points earned per level
For those who want to know or are curious - here is the points you earn from level to level:
  • Level 1 (you start here) - No points
  • Level 2 - 2 points
  • Level 3 to 19 - 3 points
  • Level 20 to 34 - 4 points
  • Level 35 to 45 - 5 points
  • Level 46 to 50 - 6 points
  • Level 51 to 54 - 7 points
  • Level 55 to 59 - 6 points
  • Level 60 to 62 - 5 points
  • Level 63 to 67 - 4 points
  • Level 68 to 80 - 3 points
Regarding what effect the points have - how much do they provide?
*[Writer: I will hopefully be looking into some statistics on what percentage these points provide or improve on the respective stat. If I do this, it will be another guide that is separate].
Levelling Up - Method/s
As you play through the game you will earn experience (required for levelling) and this is recieved from missions. Basically, the amount of points or the score you get in a mission is how much experience you earn. When you reach level 80, you don't earn any because the amount required for the next level stays at 0.
Good way/s to level up
Playing through the game and doing the story and the quests are great ways to level up as it isn't too hard. But if you want to focus on levelling up quick, I personally suggest Expert Mission 14 since it's not too hard to do (4 Great Apes) and you get a good amount of experience from it. This is found in the Mushroom District.

*You will need to complete the Expert Missions in order to unlock the next one. So to get #14, you will need to finish #13, and before that #12 etc.

To pair with this is the awesome Z-Soul '40 ton weights!'. This Z-Soul increases the score you get at the end of the mission and people in the community are saying it's around the amount of doubling the score - which is a lot. The other cool thing is that you could create a new character and start the game with this Z-Soul (since items carry over) and you can be boosting your levelling time a lot faster.

You need to have finished the main story to get this. This item is found on the lower floor of the large yellow roof above the PQ and Battles area. An NPC called 'Nit' (part of the Hero Society) will give you this item.

points are completely random, when I leveled up once*from level 34 to 35* I got 10 upgrade points

Oh so the max level is 80 and the potential only does the amount of points you get? Man I totally misread that when I unloicked that. I thought it said the max level was rased from 100-125. No wonder I stopped leveling up

Yeah, I was thinking of looking into what effects the stats have but I'm not sure if it's the same in XV2. I also plan on making this guide easier to navigate and such. I will agree, this is simply a noob guide for where to get the points and things related to it (increase max stat etc.).

Ok. good noob tutorial on skill points and earning them but I'd like to know how much the stats increase with each point attribution. The first game had a very helpful guide that detailed that. If you are looking to pursue the development of this type of guide maybe you should consider looking for it in the first game's community page.

Alongside the infinite cycling of the Guru missions, they are actually pretty generous with experience for their difficulty. I'm like in 70s now and I've done half of the Android Era.
