Beschreibung
Play as Captain Ulrik Svensgaard, leader of the Nautilus Pirates, from Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri: Alien Crossfire.

This mod is for BE: Rising Tide. A version for Vanilla can be found HERE

Trait
Spirit of Adventure:
- Trains Adventurers rather than Explorers
- Starts with Planetary Survey
- Agreements cost additional +25%

Agreements
Museum Pieces (75 diplo|9 diplo per turn):
- Artifacts are discovered more often

Dead Men's Tales (150 diplo|15 diplo per turn):
- Killing an enemy unit earns experience for your sorrounding units

The faction attracts adventurers and daredevils from across the planet, seeking out fortune and glory. When neither are plentiful, Pirate armies quickly lose willingness to fight.

- The Nautilus Pirates train adventurers rather than explorers. Adventurers differ from explorers by:
- Having increased combat-strength, movement, and expedition modules
- Move through territories even without cooperation agreements
- +300% bonus against other explorer units
- No move cost to pillage. Chance to capture enemy units on kill.
- Additionally, adventurers continue to receive upgrades by performing various actions. Examples are collecting a set of alien artifacts or pillaging a trade route. Adventurers can earn 1 upgrade, but will earn more with upgraded player traits.
- The Pirates begin the game with Planetary Survey, allowing them to embark immediately.
- Diplomatic agreements cost 25% additional capital to start and per turn.
- Upgrading the trait increases the Adventurer's combat strength.
- The Pirate's unique agreement increases chances of finding artifacts.
- The Pirate's unique agreement causes all units in range of a destroyed enemy unit to earn +5xp.

Known Issues

There's a serious issue that affects many sponsor mods with custom leaderscenes. The mods can cause the game to crash to desktop when used in conjunction with the default civs. A current fix is to play the game with the leaderscenes set to minimum. In the meantime, modders are investigating a proper fix. You can do your part by notifying Firaxis of this widespread issue.

I greatly enjoy all of you SMAC factions mods, and I see that you have two of them available with Rising Tide but not all of them just yet. Are you still working on them or has the project been dropped/put on hold?

Paweau reached out to me recently and I gave him permission to include my factions in his mod. However, I don't really have the bandwidth to work with him actively on the project.

I like what I've seen so far of the mod, but it would seem that Adventurers are not getting bonus expeditions from virtues. I went with Exploration Initiative as my first virtue but while the science bonus works the number of expeditions remain at a lowly 2. I don't know if that's something that cen be fixed since it's in Social Engeineering but it would be nice if it could.

Nice, I hope you continue to add factions for Rising Tide. I've been putting off buying the expansion because of the lack of faction mods.

Dude! You're doing it :D I'd given up hope that you'd update these. I'm so happy :D Your SMAC mods are the best on here hands down. Thank you thank you thank you for updating to RT and creating them in the first place ^_^
