General Tips
First off: This isn't Super Mario, jumping on enemies doesn't kill them, it kills you instead.
    Now for everything else:
  • Don't hit X as soon as you get a crate if you're near a wall you're facing. If you do that and you get a Disc Gun, you may end up killing yourself.
  • Anything that goes into the fire comes out of the enemy spawning area, not just enemies. The only exception is you, the player. You will just burn to death.
  • If you go into SFMT and refuse to fire while jumping, you'll probably be overwhelmed and killed very quickly. Same thing goes with being a pacifist, but by that point you might just be trying to be stupid, which is fine.
  • Do not go directly under the enemy spawning area unless you're feeling lucky. If you do it in SFMT then you're very likely going to die.
Pistol
Get the first crate as soon as possible.
If the enemy and/or crate spawning hates you and prevents you from reaching the crate then spam X like never before.

Little guys take two bullets.
Big guys take ten bullets.
Dual Pistols
Spam X.
Good news is you don't have to worry about which direction you're facing, so you can shoot while running away. Be careful that you don't run into enemies though.

Little guys take two bullets.
Big guys take ten bullets. Good luck with that in SFMT.
Revolver
The Revolver is the exact same as the Pistol except it kills faster. A thing lots of people like to do to handle the big guys with the Revolver is just jump in the air and fire two shots in rapid succession. Because it one hit kills little enemies, skeletons are much easier to deal with for some people.

Little guys take one bullet.
Big guys take two bullets.
Machine Gun
The first automatic gun. Quickly kills small enemies and large enemies alike. The machine gun has some knockback, so it's best to be aware of that and not use it on ledges. If the enemies are far enough you can take small steps forward to avoid being pushed backwards, which you sometimes need to do.

It takes two bullets to kill small guys, which takes less than a second for each one usually.
It takes ten bullets to kill a larger enemy, do not charge them.
Minigun
The Minigun has an extremely high fire rate and a very wide range. The knockback is very high, so you can use it to move faster if you feel like you have to. If you hold the direction you are facing while shooting, you will not move. If you fire with your back against the wall and hold jump without holding any movement keys, you will float down while firing.

It takes two bullets to kill the small enemies.
It takes ten bullets to kill the larger enemies.
But really, who's counting with this one?
Shotgun
The shotgun is one of the only close range weapons in the game, firing five bullets in each round and taking a bit longer than the Pistols and Revolver to reload. The spread is usually random, but it'll hit the same general area every time. It has a knockback of about two pixels, so it is advised not to use it on ledges as it will push you off. The Shotgun is capable of killing multiple smaller enemies with one shot, provided they are close enough to you and each other.

One round kills the little guys.
Two rounds (Ten bullets) kills the larger ones. If a single bullet in a round misses you'll have to fire a third one, so don't rush the enemies with the Shotgun.
Katana
Another close range weapon that one hit kills any small enemies. The Katana has no knockback unlike the Shotgun, but it has slightly less range. If there are multiple enemies close enough (usually in SFMT) then you can kill all of them with one blow.

Because the Katana is turns around large enemies [if they are facing towards you] it is advised not to turn them around while they're near a ledge if you're planning on hunting them down.

It take one hit to kill small enemies.
It takes two hits to kill large enemies, you may have to chase down some of them though.
Bazooka
The Bazooka fires rockets which explode on impact with anything. It takes a bit of time to reload it.

It's not typically good for a line of enemies headed for you if there are eight or something.
In this situation you can fire a rocket at a skeleton near the center to cause an explosion to kill them all instantly, or the top half of a large enemy. Both shots have to be made in mid-air and they have to be pretty precise. If there is a big enemy in front or they are all small, fire one shot and run until you can reload again.
Mines
Mines cause a wide explosion and explode on contact with any enemy or when you die. Mines kill any enemy instantly, except a large one at the very edge of the blast area.

Placing Mines everywhere can be useful, so long as you do not place them at the top where enemies can fall on you. They take a bit of time to arm and it is very pointless to place multiple mines on top of each other. Mines mainly allow you to retreat, they are not a very good offensive weapon for most people.

If you want to place a mine right under where the enemies fall safely (this will only kill larger guys) you must jump above the fire, and while in midair hit X so that the Mine falls into the fire (it will then spawn out of where the enemies spawn).
Grenade Launcher
The Grenade Launcher allows you to throw grenades at enemies. The path the grenade will take has a slight arc to it, and the grenade will bounce off of walls and the floor. It will instantly explode on contact with any enemy or after a bit of time.

If you lob a grenade into the fire, it will spawn back at the enemy spawning area and kill any enemies that touch it, even the ones just spawning in.
Flamethrower
This weapon does very well with killing little guys, it burns them to death quickly and efficiently. The larger enemies take some time, about two seconds should usually be good. The fire lingers a bit after you use the weapon, which causes you to hop a bit. This can sometimes screw up your jumps and get you killed, so be wary of that.

One of my personal favourite things to do with the Flamethrower is to just jump left and right rapidly coating the floor around me with fire and killing any smaller enemies. Diverting attention to large enemies when they spawn is usually good, because they pose more of a threat to somebody using the Flamethrower.

If you stand near the fire and spew flames into it, they will spawn back up at the enemy spawning area. If you actually want them to fall, you'll have to be standing in a precise location, otherwise they'll just stick to the walls.
Disc Gun
The special things about the Disc Gun are that the discs go through all enemies and when they hit a wall they come back, if you do not avoid them they can kill you.

Be prepared to either jump or go down a level when you fire, because your discs will always come back. Do not fire while facing a wall you are standing next to, you will kill yourself.

A good strategy with the Disc Gun in the Factory is to fire on the second floor, and when you jump over the disc while it's returning fire again in midair on the third floor and keep repeating. Try not to jump on enemies or your disc, if you mess up you will end up dying.

If something explodes while your disc is in the blast area, the explosion will get rid of the disc.

It takes one hit to kill small enemies.
It takes two hits to kill large enemies.
Laser Rifle
This gun does not fire instantly, acting like it does might get you killed.
A good idea with this weapon is to use the front as a one-hit kill for small enemies and run into them. This will not always work for larger enemies, because they can survive it slightly longer, so you might end up running right into them and dying.

The Laser Rifle is very good for clearing out multiple floors in SFMT. If you can bulldoze through all the enemies on your floor while it's getting ready to fire, then you can jump and with correct timing take out a few enemies on that floor.
Conclusion and Summary
Conclusion:
That's a fairly long guide.
