Finding That Missing Chest

Trying to get that irksom Explorer achievement? This guide will take you through all of the chests, and hopefully help you find your missing one.

I became so frustrated with being stuck at 63/64 chests, that I decided to start a new game and document each and every chest from scratch. I swiftly realized that maybe I should take it a step further and compile the information for the use of others in a similar position. I never did figure out which chest I missed on my first playthrough. Oh well!

These may not be in the most logical order, but they are in the order in which I found them during my second playthrough, so they should be somewhat natural. Therefore someone playing through for the first time will be able to follow the numbers from 1-64. Someone trying to find a missing chest may find it easiest to load their existing game and follow my arbitrary numbers through from 1-64.

I really hope that others will find this guide useful.




Be warned though that this guide is one huge spoiler. One of the primary joys of the game is to explore and discover new land reveals for yourself.

Afraid this is my very first guide, and I spent hours putting these composite images together and making sure they were big enough for people to see every detail I could muster... and then I discover that Steam doesn't seem to let you view them at full size.

This section is based purely off of the comments section. There seem to be a few chests that people tend to have missed, so I'll list them here and would recommend checking these specific locations before you go to the lengths of starting from scratch!

I was missing #60 in the Lost Desert! it didn't show on the map because I didn't fully explore that way apparently

Would say that if people are having issues to check getting last crate then check 31, it only appears when the pads on that level have bun run over and turned green and will not appear on the map until that happens.

What I find strange is that I got the achievement for the chests around my 60-61 chest. Apparentely the game counter isnt right, so my guess is even if you dont find them all you can get the achievement.

Thanks for taking the time to create this guide. To elaborate on your often-missed chests:
45 - Crystalline Mine - after lighting the north main crystal, the chest is due south along the winding path between the crystal's chamber and the main hub.
57 - A fair distance east of the Ice Mausoleum is an insect's nest. There's a teleporter just west of there, and it requires wind power.
61 - Lost Desert - after the first insect's nest, there's a teleporter west and slightly north of it.

This is a nice and well written Guide where i could check every place, if I have missed out a chest, even with the skill to show hidden chests.

Sadly, I only own the demo on steam and the full version on epic so no achivements for me :/

I had the same issue 旺仔牛奶 in my first playthrough where I was missing one chest and it was maddening, which lead me to making this.
Your best bet is to play through again but this time with the guide, ticking off each of my chest numbers as you go so that when you finish your second play through if you're still missing a chest then you'll know exactly which one(s) to go get.

Thank you very much for making this detailed guide! I carefully checked the position of each treasure chest and worm nest, and confirmed that I had indeed cleaned all the worm nests and treasure chests when I played before, but the achievements were still 62/64 and 23/24. I'm thinking about whether to play a second time for achievement.(ಥ _ ಥ)

Thanks so much for the guide! When I finished the game I had 62/64. I was missing 57, I had seen it earlier but just forgot to try to figure out to get there. Then after trying to figure out which one I had missed for an hour I finally realized it was one in Creation City #31. It doesn't show up on the map because you have to turn all the gray tiles to green for it to spawn. I got super excited once I opened the chest but the achievement didn't appear. I was like omg but once I opened the map then the achievement popped up!

@sacha-gt yes, after double-checking the Burning Hollow chests, the larger yellowish one does not contain a fragment (only a good amount of XP), so it can't be easily checked through the 3/3 in the gallery. Yet it still counts as a chest towards the Explorer achievement.
