Notes before trying the options
PLEASE NOTE that your regional settings are set to “English” before trying any of these options. Or if Steam or your graphic card is up to date.

PLEASE NOTE that the AppData file on Windows 7 is hidden. You have to make it visible in your C drive or you can simply bypass this by going to your C drive and typing in either Warner Bros or Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment on the search bar.

If you own any of the Lego Star Wars (not including The Force Awakens) or Indiana Jones games it would be Eidos Interactive or LucasArts. For Lego Pirates of the Caribbean game it would be Disney Interactive Studios
Option 1
Go to C:\Users\(PC User name)\AppData\Roaming and find the Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment folder. Find your Lego game and open the folder. Now upon opening it, find the pcconfig text document. Open it and configure in your resolution. Sometimes this may happen where the PC Lego game will synchronized your resolution.

If for some reason this doesn't work, go to option 2.
Option 2
Go to your C:\Program Files (x86 or x64)\Steam\steamApps\Common and look for your Lego game. Open the folder and up the _CommonRedist folder. Now open the DirectX folder and then the folder Jun2010. Run the setup.exe file. Sometimes it will also look like DXSETPUP application. Once that is done, go to the _CommonRedist\vcredit folder. Open it and run the vcredit application. PLEASE NOTE: x86.exe is used on 32 bit systems, and x64.exe on 64 bit systems.

Once that is taken care up it should be able to launch your Lego game. If not, restart your computer for the recent updates to take into full effect.

If for some reason this doesn't work, go to option 3.
Option 3
Uninstall your Lego game and reinstall it from your Steam client. This will usually fix the problem. But only try this if all else has failed.

I'm trying to play LEGO Batman 1, but it refuses to boot with Error code 80. Not even uninstalling and reinstalling the game allowed it to boot again.

Thanks for the guide. Option 1 got me up and running. I recently got a bunch of Lego games from humble bundle. I can not believe the way the Lego games are so messed up on PC. What a shame really as these are fun games that usually follow true with added comedic spins to the movies.

if you have a pending windows update, update it. Restart your pc if you have to. Lego Batman was working fine a couple weeks ago but then wouldn't start because of a pending restart. Now it works for me.

None of these options actually worked. I am attempting contact with WB directly.

Was hoping PC ver would let me play with friends, and wee ones, easier. Sad they don't seem to care about the PC community. :rumuangry:

Tried the work-arounds, and have uninstalled -> reinstalled 4 times. No luck, and the laptop can easily run the game on good settings, much less basic 3D. :piscared:

In my "C:\Program Files (x86 or x64)\Steam\steamApps\Common" i only have 3 files and none of them are any of the 4/5 Lego games that aren't working i have tried multiple options from multiple threads but because i didn't purchase the games through steam and they where steam keys i can refund them. I am hopping they work because if not its a waste of almost £90
