- (Secondary) Quietly neutralize all the guards [Getting Things Done 1000XP] + [Ghost 200XP] + [Smooth Operator 200XP] = [1400XP] total <= Even if it's a secondary mission, it need to be done or else, an alarm will be triggered. I would advice to neutralize the guard as the tenth guard, so you'll be sure you did the first ten stealthy. If you do it as the eleventh (and last) one, it might be a problem for the game to display the bonus as there will be two "smooth operator bonus" as the same time, and it'll probably only display one, even if you got both of them.
- Investigate the catering area [Getting Things Done 1950XP] + [Ghost 200XP] + [Smooth Operator 200XP] = [2350XP] total

* M16: Stopping Marchenko
- Stop Marchenko before he blows up the towers [Getting Things Done 3150XP] + [Smooth Operator 200XP] = [3350XP] total <= Best is to get the kill switch in the room to the left of Miller's location. Using the kill switch automatically give the "smooth operator" bonus.

* M17: Protecting the Future
- Find and protect the delegates [Getting Things Done 3150XP] + [Smooth Operator 200XP] = [3350XP] total

Note : As in Human Revolution (which have a similar list on the game wiki), this list doesn't mean you'll get the achievement for sure if you get all the Smooth Operator bonus (you can trigger alarms in other parts where there is no Smooth Operator bonus).

However, if you miss one of the Smooth Operator bonus listed, you can be sure you won't get the achievement (except the two missions with Gallois that you might not require, if you did the Calibrator side-quest or decided to just hack the door) and you can already stop your run to restart a new one.
Things to know
General things :

- Enemies can become hostile but I wouldn't advice you to let them do so because you'll have to kill some of them and if one survive and spot the bodies, it might trigger an alarm. Best is to try to kill nobody (so you can do pacifist at the same time). Personally, the only guard I took down (non-lethal) was in Koller Place. I hide the body though, just to be sure, but I don't think Koller place have alarms, as it's not a enemy zone but a NPC zone.

- Cameras can turn yellow, but not red, same for drones (because we can't know if some particulars cameras or drones are linked to alarms so best is just to avoid to let them turn red). Turrets shouldn't turn red at all, as they start shooting at you then, which probably often trigger some alarms. To be sure to get the achievement, just avoid those things to turn red. Don't destroy cameras. In HR, doing so voided the achievement so it's maybe the same in MD.

01) Unfortunately, the achievement seems semi-glitched. The proof is I made a run a few days ago and didn't get the achievement. Then, for some reasons, I switched to the first build of the game (V1.0 Build 524.6) and reloaded the run with the last save (it was a save just before the delegates door, so it's exactly the same run, as you have nothing to do in the delegates room except listening to the dialogue) and the achievement unlocked just after the credits roll (which mean my run was okay and mean the achievement should have unlocked the first time).

So, if you are pretty sure you did everything right and you didn't get the achievement, switch to the first version and reload the last save to finish the game again, it might unlock it.

02) Contrary to a rumor which appeared a while ago, you don't have to complete any secondary/optional objectives (except one, read n°3) to get the achievement.

03) But you have to neutralize the 11 guards during the London Level (end of the game) stealthy, because if you leave some of them, they'll later trigger an alarm and it'll void the achievement. It's the only optional objective you have to do (to avoid, again, a scripted alarm).

04) Drones during Janus Quest seems bugged. Even if you use Glass Shield Cloaking + Silence Legs, they can still detect you. Most of the time, they'll turn hostile when you fall into the hole leading to the sewers and it seems it might void the achievement so it's better to leave by the same way you entered. Use Glass Shield Cloaking + Silence Legs but when a drone is near you, stop to move (Cloaking use near no energy if you don't move so you can stop moving during a long time using time, which is a nice trick when you have to wait for an elevator with enemies around you).

Some people who failed to unlock the achievement in their first run avoided those drones in their second run and they finally got the achievement.

05) During the G.A.R. M mission (M13), you have to choose to contact Vega. If you choose to contact Miller, a scripted alarm will be triggered later in the level and this alarm (even if it's a scripted one) void the achievement.

06) Even if the "new_game_plus.bin" file keep a log of the alarms triggered (like the M13 one for example), you can still unlock the achievement during a newgame+ run, it won't void the achievement).

07) The two last missions (M16 and M17) can be done in any order, it doesn't matter.

08) Easiest way to get "smooth operator" during M16 is to get the kill switch (it's to the room left of the one where you find Miller during the mission, the room where is the third guard of this par of the level. The kill switch is under a bag under a desk). The kill switch can be activated directly during the dialogue cutscene and automatically give the "smooth operator" bonus.

09) Sometimes, the radar display "Searching". Some people confirmed it doesn't void the achievement.

10) You can go through lasers with Glass Shield Cloaking, it doesn't void the achievement (it's faster than use the remote hack).

11) The alarm tutorial which pop-up when an alarm is triggered is not completely accurate, unfortunately so even if it never pop-up, it's doesn't confirm you'll get the achievement for sure.

12) Drahomir (SM01) can be shot by the police, it doesn't void the achievement (but if you don't plan to do the side-quests for this run, just avoid him. You can climb roofs to the left of the fake check point and enter Koller place this way, through a window, so I personally avoided it, just to be sure).

13) Eliza Cassan events also doesn't void the achievement (but if you don't do any side-quests, you won't get the events anyway).

14) During the G.A.R.M level, you'll find a drill. Note that if you use it and fail the dialogue just after, it'll void the achievement. if you use it but win the dialogue, it won't void the achievement. I would advice to not touch it at all, it's not like it's very useful anyway so I personally not used it, just to be sure).

15) If it's your first run and you don't get an achievement after the NSN mission, it mean an alarm was triggered (it's easy to spot it in this level even if you already got the achievement, if you trigger an alarm, some things in the rooms are reseted).

16) Failing some remote hacking doesn't void the achievement, but failing a panel/computer hack (timer hit zero) will void the achievement, so best is to save before hacking a panel/computer and reload if you fail (or you can quit the hacking screen before the timer hit 0 if you think you won't make it then retry, as they often offer several tries).

Oh this achievement is bugged for me. A ng +, only used tool hack, only main objectives, no secondaries, no optionals, and definetively no alarms triggers, all ghost missions and nothing. This is my 3rd run. Grrrr!!!

I can confirm reverting the version will not work anymore, the save files are no longer recognized and cannot be loaded, so the developers probably modified the saving mechanism at some point.

As for how I did this achievement: Collect as many praxis kits and biocells during the first playthrough as possible, focus on maxing out your energy and cloaking augmentations, and then rush through a new game plus while making heavy use of glass-shield cloaking and only doing the main quests. I was able to sneak through all of the main areas with enemies without alerting any of them, just spam the key you have bound biocells to when you get low. It took me 4 hours max to complete the playthrough without any side quests and I still had plenty of biocells left.

there, cheevd. go tell the human revolution version of this achievement to suck my dick.

I'm not sure if backdating the version was a requirement just to get this, but I figured why take the risk playing another 6 hour session just to satisfy my sense of completion (and ego). I still ended up having to put 4 people in the sewers to sleep when the drones showed up. also had to sit thru the end credits yet again.

also possible I messed up the first time letting the chopper get away in the intro mission like a dummy. I wasn't paying close enough attention to whether or not I was getting those ghost rewards.

this is seriously way too much work for this achievement, every guard I put to sleep who is facing me voids it. any civs who spot a body voids it. enemies showing up to kill me finding anyone else voids it. just let me get thru the game without sounding an alarm, fuck.

shit.

ok buckle in because youre gonna want to hear this. turns out, because the drones were detecting and attacking nearby civilians, that was preventing me from gaining the ghost reward. I ended up having to knock out and hide 4 people in the sewers and covering their hiding places with crates to make absolutely sure the robots could not see them. well, it worked.

gotta keep that in mind in case I end up missing any other chances to get ghost or smooth operator.

I am full stealth clearing the drones after meeting janus and it is not giving me any extra reward, so somehow I am still being detected without having been detected.

First Playthrough here and I got Smooth Operator after Kill Switch and saving the guests before they drink the Champaign.
But no Foxiest achievement ! :(

Was doing a no-alarms run for this achievement and I did not get it if i ran to fight Marchenko first. I reloaded the save and went for the delegates first and volia! Got the achievement. Don't know what caused this - maybe some hidden alarm that's not shown anywhere - but maybe this trick will help someone.
Hiei-  [author] Feb 12, 2017 @ 10:27am
I personally got it without doing the sidequests.

For the save, maybe they changed the format because when it got released, I managed to load my save fine with the vanilla version.
