A quick quide on the comparitive advantage between the playable sides in RO2. The weapons that are highlighted may not necesserily be perfect but they are better than their oppenents weapons. Please note that I do not count sights as either an advantage or disadvantage unless they are ridiculous. Very minor things such as reloading times will also not be counted.

Bolt-action Rifles

+Shorter length = stops barrel going through windows or around corners

Result: Major win to Germany
The Russian MG simply does not have the ammo capacity to properly suppress a target

MG-34

+ Unstoppable rate of fire

Disclaimer

Although Russia has an overall advantage it is just as possible to win with Germany if you play to your strengths and put pressure on your enemy's weaknesses. Although like the Russians you may be weaker with one weapon the example being their MGs which are weaker compared to Germany's they still carry a greater rate of fire benefit against any German rifleman, semi automatic rifleman and can easily outrange a submachine gun so it is more ado the player rather than the weapon.

It's always down to personal preference but I've given justification to each of my choices. In the end it's the player that wins, not the weapon and, in general, the more experienced players choose the axis side anyway.

I disagree with most things on this list. German weapons are overall much easier to use than the Russian ones. Then again, that might just be me.

Should mention that both the mosin and SVT have greater bullet velocity, making targets easier to hit at long ranges but the german rifles have just a little bit more bullet penetration.
Also, dont forget that both have 2 pistols, TT33 for russians and the P38 for germans, both with their own advantages.

True, Russians generally don't win because the more experienced players seem to prefer the Axis side.

German SMG is more suited for longer range due to its lower rate of fire and somewhat low recoil. But in the end it all comes down to personal preferance.
