Finding and Editing the MyConfig.cfg
In order to get First Person mode, you just need to edit a configuration file which stores your camera settings.

1) Navigate to: C:\Users\your_username\Saved Games\Of Kings And Men

2) Open the MyConfig.cfg file in your own preferred text editor. (Notepad, Notepad++, etc)

3) The following lines are the ones you need to change:

"CameraOffset": {
"X": 0.0,
"Y": -1.75,
"Z": 1.35

"CameraDistance": -0.25,

4) Save the changes to the file and keep it in it's cfg format.

5) Launch the game, and enjoy.

***IMPORTANT***: Keep in mind that this game was not meant to be played in First Person. So, there are issues with clipping, and some animations will show the player's head leaning out in front of the camera. You'll also overwrite your changes you made, if you go into the Options > Controls > and adjust the Y value. However, I was able to successfully play and kill a good number of opponents in First Person. Since the game is in Early Access, this is likely to change in the future.

If anyone finds better values for the camera positions that enable a more enjoyable First Person experience, feel free to share what you've found.

If you're wanting a true First Person option in-game, please let your mind be known by upvoting this suggestion on their official feedback site: http://features.ofkingsandmen.net/topics/108-first-person/

Last time I played, I increased the camera distance, and it was great because I could see people running up to flank me, without having to change my stance. I prefer to have a further away 3rd person view in games like this, so I can plan the timing of my movements easier.

Alexander, you can try just editing the views in-game and it should allow you to get back. Otherwise, try deleting the settings file and going into the game so it can regenerate a new one.

This is pretty cool. Actually I think the devs are encouraging people to attempt to wreck and mishandle the game files as much as possible so they can improve the game before release. Can this be modified to change the camera to a top-town 3rd person view?
