Fix L4D2 Workshop Addons not loading.

Have your L4D2 addons never stopped loading? Here's some fixes that may work!

First things first:

One of many reasons why your addons may not load is your computer's time.

For example, if it is behind what is the real time, it will never load, so update your time!

So, click on the time.

Then click on change time settings

Click Internet time...

Click change settings...

Press update time (may have to keep pressing button if fails updating)

And it should update to the correct time so it can load the addons properly!

If above does not work:

Try the one below this textbox that i have made in the past, may work or not. Dont mess it up!

Opening the l4d2 addons file.

Program files > steam > Steamapps > Common > left 4 dead 2 > left4dead2 > Addons

Or right click l4d2 in steam Libary properties then (the same place where you vertify files) > search though local files > left4dead2>Addons.

Next Part.

Make sure to open a extra window that shows the addon page and move the addons from the workshop folder into the addons folder.

(Make sure there is no dupes or there may be problems!)

Reminder: any addons you forgot to put into the workshop folder will not load.

Checking the addons section on L4D2 should show it ready to be used.



MAKE SURE TO DELETE THE ADDONS FROM YOUR WORKSHOP FOLDER IF YOU HAVE COPIED AND PASTED AND NOT SIMPLY MOVED IT.

Thank you so much for this guide. It really helped. The workshop addons never loaded even after reinstalling steam and l4d2. It turns out, my PC clock was behind by one day. I would’ve never realized it if I didn’t see this guide. Thanks again.

This was very helpful. Thank you. I had a bunch of gun mods and a small number of maps I wanted as permanent items that were clogging up the 50 "temporary" slots in the workshop folder I use for random maps. I couldn't find out where the actual addons folder was. This cleared up a lot of space.

I ended up fixing it. I just had to reinstall three times over. No clue why it took three tries but whatever works.

Try reinstalling L4D2 fully, i'm guessing something happened in your game files that corrupted.
