Golden Gear Locations

This guide shows you where to find the golden gears in each level.

The Sky

Gear 1:
On the island that leads to the Mystey Maze minigame.

Gear 2:
Located inside the magnet attached to the bottom of the challenge level seller.

Gear 3:
Found next to the spaceship after completing the related cozy canyon medallion.

Gear 4:
Inside the archway on the Snowland island.

Gear 5:
Located on the wooden platform on the crystal cavern's section of the archeologist's island.

The Forest

Gear 1:
In the main area on a stump nearby the pond.

Getting to gears 2 and 3:
Gears 2 and 3 are located in the second half of the level. To get to the second part of the level walk through the waterfall near Gear 4.

Gear 2:
Along one of the tight topes in the second area.

Gear 3:
Behind the big tree in the second area.

Gear 4:
At the very start of the level. Run away from the tent until you see a gap with water running through it. The gear is floating on the water.

Gear 5:
There is a gear in the tree once you reach the checkpoint at the end of the path.

Cozy Canyon

Gear 1:
Before entering the castle gate turn left. There is a short grey platform with the first golden gear on it.

Gear 2:
Balance along the wires above the castle entrance and follow the rock path along the cliff face until you come across some retracting platforms. Inside the middle platform is the second gear.

Gear 3:
Above the gate that's separating the two areas, on the side with the chainlink fence to climb out of the water. You will need to drop down from above to get this gear.

Gear 4:
Above one of the wires along the outside of the map. Accessible from the water or rocketship.

Gear 5:
Along the spiral path that leads to the lighthouse there is a gear perched on a platform below some spikes. You can see this from the rocketship.

BONUS GEAR
Location: The Moon
The Moon is reached when you get into the rocketship in Cozy Canyon or The Sky.
This gear is inside one of the craters. If you find a sign saying 'Please don't take our precious Golden Gear!' then turn 90 degrees left and run straight.

Snowland

Snowland is split into two levels. The first two gears are from the portal with the purple penguin thing.

Gear 1:
Along the outside of the map.

Gear 2:
Inside a cove underneath a balancing beam. Not the easiest thing to explain really.

The following gears are in the other Snowland level.

Gear 3:
Visible from the spawn point. Underneath a rotating platform.

Gear 4:
Along the outside of the map next to a snowman.

Gear 5:
Behind the massive stone pillar with a medallion at the top. Accessible from the tram that travels around the level.

Mount Magma

Gear 1:
As soon as you leave the starting zone turn left. The first gear will be inside one of the green geysers.

Gear 2:
Enter the spooky cave past the first golden gear and follow the path until you reach a checkpoint. The second gear will be on the left behind one of the moles.

Gear 3:
The third gear is at the bottom of the long slide (entrance is a black hole with a fire geyser pointing towards it). It can also be accessed by dropping down the side of the obstacle course and climbing over the bars.

Gear 4:
This gear is near the top of the tower facing away from Mount Buckethead.

Gear 5:
To get the final gear you have to set the goal medallion to "Mount Buckethead", otherwise the required obstacles won't spawn. About halfway up the obstacle course (the first U-turn) will be the gear.

Sinking Sands

Gear 1:
Opposite the train station. You can get this one by climbing the building next to it and jumping over or dropping down from the back of the ladder up to the crane.

Gear 2:
The second gear is close to the first. Jump onto the small building with spikes and then long jump to the second highest building. From there climb up to the next bulding and get the gear.

Gear 3:
From the start zone go left and climb the ladder. Climb the rocks and go around to the left of the pyramid area from the "Heart of the Sandpit" medallion. This gear is hidden behind the rock with bee's flying on top.

Gear 4:
Make your way up to the radio puzzle or climb the red ladder (Backside ladder secret location) and you'll find the fourth gear.

Gear 5:
The fifth gear is opposite the bell tower from the "Bell Tower Climb" medallion, behind a lump of sand.

Crystal Caverns

Gear 1:
On the way towards the button to open the conveyor room there is a golden gear above the raising platforms.

Gear 2:
At the bottom of the first ladder once you enter the balancing room.

Gear 3:
Ontop of one of the pillars near the 'The Pit' level spawn.

Gear 4:
Next to the moving platforms at the start of the level.

Gear 5:
As soon as you enter the pit turn right and the fifth gear will be infront of you.

Secret

Gear 1:
Location: Fossil Hunt
Inside the archway by the portal to the Fossil Hunt minigame.

Gear 2:
Location: Super Soaring Course
Next to the warp.

Gear 3:
Location: Mole Minigame
Behind the ladder as you come in.

Gear 4:
Location: Mystery Maze
Behind a pillar near the warp.

Gear 5:
Location: The Moon
The Moon is reached when you get into the rocketship in Cozy Canyon or The Sky.
This gear is inside one of the craters. If you find a sign saying 'Please don't take our precious Golden Gear!' then turn 90 degrees left and run straight.

Challenge Levels

Gear 1:
Location: Puzzle Tower
Once you start climb to the top of the middle pillar. Look up and right and you should see the first gear.

Gear 2:
Location: Super Slide
Take the right path down the ramp and you should see the second gear just before the two paths merge.

Gear 3:
Location: Floating Sky Grid
In the middle of the level, pretty hard to miss.

Gear 4:
Location: Climbing Course
Climb to the top of the grid, jump off and try to grab on to the black/yellow/black/yellow stripled beam.

Gear 5:
Location: Quake Run
Off to the left once you reach the home stretch.

Gear 6:
Location: Lava Pit Dash
To the left of the map on a pillar.

Gear 7:
Location: Tightrope Tango
Behind the spawn location.

Gear 8:
Location: Spike Roller
Just after the medallion at the end of the level.

Gear 9:
Location: Snowball Scramble
Half way up the map to the left.

Gear 10:
Location: Conveyor Chaos
On the right half of the level between the second and third set of conveyors.

Well, it would be good to basically use a walkthrough to find all the golden gear locations, but it sometimes ruins the gameplay for people by spoiling where all the golden gears are.
But basically, I just recommend this walkthrough for all the golden gears because it really helps.
