Acrocanthosaurus all you need to know
By TheFlyingSun
Hi fellow Acrocanthosaurus. With this guide I hope I can help you guys survive as one. I will also try to keep it updated with each patch. In this patch you will learn a couple of things about Acrocanthosaurus, its stats, which dinos are dangerous to you and which is the safest dino to hunt. Oke so here we go!

A little paleontology about Acrocanthosaurus.
Acrocanthosaurus is an extinct large theropod of the Early Cretaceous. Even though he was the apex predator at its times he was smaller compared to Tyrannosaurus who in turn was smaller than Carcharodontosaurus, Giganotosaurus and of course Spinosaurus. Acrocanthosaurus is known from its row of tall spines. Those spines hold the biggest mystery about Acrocanthosaurus, what were their use? Some experts believe that those spines actually regulated the heat
throughout the body. Others say that it was used as storage to store fat.

Acrocanthosaurus stats
You probably know them but anyway I will write them just to be sure.

Health 1700
Damage 200
Bleed 20
Speed (I don't know exactly how fast it is but) Acrocanthosaurus is slightly faster than Shantungosaurus and even though i haven't tested it myself I heard it is slower than allosaurus
so you get the rough idea how fast he is.
Health Regen 32 hp per 60 sec more or less
Hunger 100
Water 80
Stamina 100
Dangers and how to deal with them
There are some things that an lone Acrocanthosaurus should evade.
The first and the foremost is

Tyrannosaurus Rex. Danger 10/10
This guy eats you for breakfast. He outdamages you, outtanks(?) you and outheals you. You don't stand a single chance against him provided you both are skilled. Hell, even a pack of 3 Acrocanthosauruses will have trouble taking one down unless they are having some kind of communication like skype. So whenever you see one do the following action turn around and run. You literally have no other choice. Unless you want to risk 1v1 a dino with 600 damage + the weight difference.

The next one is

Stegosaurus or how i prefer to call him wannabe Acro. Danger 10/10
This guy is literally the T Rex of herbivores. What makes this guy so dangerous is its bleed. The bleed it causes is literally what Acrocanthosaurus should have, 30 bleed. One hit from this fella and you should rest ASAP. This thing is not to be hunted alone. And even when you have a pack, approaching it with caution is the best option even when you are communicating. The worst part about this guy is that it rarely travels alone making it extremely, if not impossible, to hunt alone one since even if you manage to land a hit you will have to somehow pass through its herd. Should you find one alone stalk it PATIENTLY supposing you are not detected, and wait for the moment it is most vurnerable. For instance when its eating or drinking. Bonus points if you ambush it at its head. If he has company, well turn around once more and go to another lake and pray that you get lucky there.

The following is
Acrocanthosaurus. Danger 9/10
2 bites from an Acrocanthosaurus will most likely mean certain death since he will deal you 400 damage and 40 bleed. Of course this applies to him too but the goal of the game is to survive not to kill so avoid fights with another Acrocanthosaurus if possible. Oh and by the way don't sprint when you have 20 bleed, you are around 1400 Hp and in a hotspot. You lose Hp very fast and you wouldn't want to limp in a popular spot. The best thing to do, is lets say the danger that put you 20 bleed is dead, is to rest immediately and hope that nothing will see you. Because if they see you, well lets just that you probably won't be able to survive to tell the tale, unless they are friendly which is actually highly unlikely.

Another danger you should avoid is

Suchomimus when they are 2 or more. Danger 9/10
Hell, if you are unexperienced at fighting like me even 1 will be difficult since he can deal you 300 damage very fast and that amounts to 20 bleed. The good thing is that 1 bite and the Suchomimus will have to rest. But that applies to one. When they are 2, well things get complicated, you will most likely kill them if you know how to fight, but it's unlikely to survive so when you spot a pack, you know the drill, run away. You are faster than them.

Last but not least a lone Acrocanthosaurus should evade

Carnotaurus when they are 3 or more. Danger 8/10
1 Carnotaurus is nothing. 2 are nothing unless they are communicating, 3 or more are dangerous. I would put Carnotaurus 9/10 if their bite wasn't so weak. They deal 50 damage and 5 bleed. And one bite from you will lead them to rest. They usually are not aggressive to big dinos but in the scenario you do find yourself in trouble with Carnotaurus, your best bet is to try to face them all when they get close to you. Never but never try to run, they will catch you and will bite your butt to death. Also you should never panic.
What to hunt and what to not hunt
So now that we have the dangers out of the way lets continue with our potential prey.

1) Corpses
Yep you read right. Scavenging is the best choice as to what to eat. It is the safest but the most boring since you miss the thrill of hunt but who needs that when your aim is to survive right? In all seriousness now, scavenging is indeed the best way to saturate your hunger. You might not believe me but 97% of the corpses I've eaten as Acrocanthosaurus were already dead when i found them. The other 3% is me killing the afk or the ones that are not paying any attention on their surrounding.

2) Shantungosaurus

They are by far the most exciting dinos to hunt. They are big but they are slow. They have health and a decent damage but they arent overbearing. The only thing that you have to watch out is their stomp. At xlarge dinos it deals 600 or 400 damage (not sure i would appreciate if someone could verify their damage) but since we have weight difference its damage could increase by a lot. There is a rumour that stomp deal 1400 to large dinos but i haven't confirmed it but I've seen Acros die by stomp when they said the have 1500 hp.

3) Diabloceratops

This fella is one of the most easy dinos to catch and kill. It is smaller, slower and weaker than you, making it one of the best dinos to hunt. But don't forget, kill it before it reaches a dense forest. I personally have lost many Diablos to the forests and i can assure you, it is very annoying.

4) Pachycephalosaurus

The same as Diablo smaller, slower and of course weaker than you. The only difference is that you will lose it for sure if it reaches a dense forest. Actually screw a dense forest, a common forest is more than enough to hide from you.

5) Triceratops

This ceratopsian should only be hunted when you are behind it and you have the element of surprise. While it doesn't deal much of a damage to be a threat it does inflict bleed. And almost every carnivore hates bleeding since it restricts its movements. Attack it only from behind. Never from the front. His turn rate also isn't so good so you have extra time before he is be able to face you.

Things to not never hunt especially alone (not worthy of time or too dangerous)
Trex, Wannabe acro (why do I even put them. It is fairly obvious to avoid them much less hunt them)
Gallimimus (screw those guys, too fast to ever reach them)
Dryosaurus ( fast and pretty sneaky to catch one)
Austroraptors (fast and sneaky)
Utahraptors (fast)
Ankylosaurus (not worth the risk)
Juvenile rexes (too fast)
Therizunosaurus (too much of a risk)
Herrerasaurus (i think faster than you, sneaky, and most of all non existant i haven't seen one in a while)

Conclusion
I hope enjoyed reading it and hopefully you learnt something. Just don't forget that everything i wrote are but suggestions and strategies I created by my experience as
Acrocanthosaurus. You don't have to follow them. For instance, If you believe that you don't need to ambush that Triceratops to kill it, go ahead if you can do it. But always remember that the goal of the (current) game is to survive. Thanks for reading my guide and good luck on surviving on the isle.

P.S. If i have made any mistakes, feel free to correct me :D

P.S. 2 Acrocanthosaurus has not crouch yet meaning that if you want to ambush a dino without being detected your best bet is to stay on high cover and walk with feign limping (g). This will also boost your turn rate.
