Hyper Gold Farm

Income is extremly fast; Approx 100k+ gold a hour. This strategy works easily at the start of the game and is very simple since it only relies on wood as a resource so you don't have to worry about having base items. You don't need to spend a single real life penny to use this strategy.

Feel free to share this information or use it without my permission. Facts can't be copyrighted and I my intention is to spread knowledge and not make any real-life money.

Note that this is a Steam specific guide. There is a Shop Heros for Face Book, Google Play, and maybe other mobile networks. The prices will obviously vary if you play on other networks and depending on the prices of specific items listed in this guide, it may not be even worth reading; Don't worry, the current prices will bring you millions of gold.

Objective: Make money!
Revised 8/26/2016

This is a short term fast gold early game strategy. I is not intended to be used long term but works well anyway. <<read this ppl if you can even read!!>>

!!!Shop Heros on [STEAM] is not connected to [FACEBOOK], [GOOGLE PLAY], [MOBILE NETWORKS]. So prices will vary. This guide is ment for [STEAM]!!!

  • Making money selling mauls. This isn't the main money maker. I only suggest mauls because you are able to sustain the wood regeneration while building 2-3 at a time and at the same time gain fast player expirence points for levels.
  • Silver tounged achievement. This will be your primary objective. Suggest/compliment 1000 customers and get 200k gold, 5000 and get 1M gold! I wouldn't go for the 5000 but it is a hell lot easier at low levels.
  • Removed*

Why not swords, daggers, other items, or items that require even lower resource cost? Because this guide is able to sustain a positive resource regeneration rate to sales rate, not have a huge surplus of inventory because you crafted so many cheap resource cost items( you only get a limited amount of customers at a time), and mauls do not require a base item which requires additional crafting time or crafting slots.

If you haven't noticed already, if you focus on too many crafts, the customers will ask for a wider variety of items but you only get two customers at a time at low levels so you have to refuse him/her, you don't get any achievement from refusing customers.

[NOT CONFIRMED!]
Hero manipulation theory. Suppose that you want to only sell mauls. This means that we want heros that only buy mauls, which at this point in the game is only Theor. If we do not hire any heros that buy anything other than mauls. The theory is that only hiring heros such as Theor, Clovis, and Karal will allow us to suggest mauls 100% of the time, provided you have hearts/energy, and obtain a net gain of hearts/energy after a transaction using suggest+compliment+sell.
How to set up
  • Do tutotiral stuff until you get 10/10 shop space(aka furniture space)
  • Craft stuff until you can craft the maul
  • Craft maul so it is at master level
  • Store EVERYTHING(FURNITURE) away
  • Place 3 woodbins
  • Place 1 ironbins
  • Place 1 counter
  • Place 1 sawbench
  • Place 1 weaponcrafting station
  • Place 1 chest
  • Place 1-2 maul rack

The theory is that at this point in the game you only have Theor, Clovis, Karal, and Garreth as heros. Theor, Clovis, and Karal will accept mauls as suggestions but Garreth will not. You can choose to not hire Garreth and go a full maul rush build.
How strategy works
  • The cost of crafting your mauls should be 5 wood
  • Each woodbins gives you resources from your sawmill so the wood resource income is multiplied by 3
  • When a customer comes in and tries to sell you something, COMPLIMENT him/her and then REFUSE him/her. THIS IS VERY IMPORNANT BECAUSE YOU UNLOCK Silver Tounged achievement reward!!!
  • When a customer comes in and DOESN'T ask for a maul and DOESN'T allow you to suggest maul, refuse him/her.
  • When a customer comes in and DOESN'T ask for a maul BUT allows you to SUGGEST for a maul, then suggest a maul and give him/her a discount to restore hearts. You can click and hold on the suggested item to select a maul even if they aren't looking for a suggested maul.
  • When a customer comes in and DOES ask for a maul/high-quality maul, then surcharge him/her, compliment him/her, and sell the maul.
  • Upgrade your woodbins; Distribute the gold evenly so they are around the same level; Save money and time.
  • Upgrade your sawmill. Spend only money on your [Saw Mill] until it is around level 5+. At that point you should be able to achieve a resource regeneration+spending equallibrium.
  • If you run out of wood. Click the [Invest] button on [Saw Mill] to obtain like +5 lumber for each [Invest] click. Since you are low level, the cost should be very small. If you fully invest into the saw mill you do get a big restock of wood.
  • If you decided to hire Garreth and or Melina, then you can devote 1 crafting slot towards a dagger; Craft [Dagger], remmeber that you can suggest the dagger by holding down the suggest icon.

Theor, Clovis, and Karal will accept mauls while Garreth and Melina will accept daggers; Try not to hire Garreth and Melina so you can sell only Mauls. Complimenting 1000 times will get you the Silver Tounged achievement which will give you 200k gold which you can respend into your economy. More importantly, the purpose of this set up is to craft and sell to customers; You gain XP from both crafting and selling.

Storage Space Optimization
In the beginning, shop space is very limited and the game doesn't tell players how they can improve resource gain.

Resoruce Gain Optimization
For each resource regeneration furniture placed in your shop, the resource regeneration building will give it one resource; For example, a lumber mill will give you 3 wood per tick if you have 3 wood bins but if you have only 1 wood bin then you will get only 1. The frequency differs depending on the level of your resource regeneration building; You can see how much resource gain per hour if you check the building in your city.

Level Up and Earn Big money!
By leveling up we get 5-10 free gems; The first couple levels only gives us 5 gems I think.

Go to the [Trade House/Auction House] and buy a [Leather Key] for 7 [Gems]; Make sure you buy the [Leather key] and not the [Wooden Key]!!! Shortcut for this is: [Trade House Icon; Looks like a weight scale] > [Offers Tab] > [Lock Box Icon]; Bottom left of screen > [Leather Key]; It should say Level 10 common [Leather key] and should be offered for 7 gems.

Now go to the offers page and sell the [Leather Key] for 2.25 M (Million) gold. Shortcut for this is: [Trade House Icon; Looks like a weight scale] > [Request Tab] > [Lock Box Icon]; Bottom left of screen > [Leather Key]. SELL IT FOR 2.25 M (Million) gold! DO NOT SELL IT FOR 4 GEMS; If you did that then you just lost 3 gems!

*Note*
Only occasionally send out heros to gain xp. At this point in the game, the special resources you gain are worth nothing. You might occasionally get a wooden box but that will be all. Don't listen to those retardes who claim that you will get a [Wooden Key], which sells for 250k gold. The probrability is less than 1% chance; In fact the Shop Heros Wiki page says it's less than 0.1% and Shop Heros forums also support this fact. Once you start mass adventuring, you will also notice this fact.

There is also a special reason why I do not invest in heros early game which will be explained later.
Mid-game strategy
Upgrade Path

Once you get your first 200k gold achievement reward then:

  • Upgrade your mine to level 9+; Iron resource regeneration
  • Upgrade your lumermill to level 9+; Wood resource regeneration
  • Upgrade your shop to have 21 shop/furniture space
  • Place your [Saw Bench] and [Weaponmaking station]
  • Place your one [Chest], that you should of upgrade many times; Pref 21 inv space
  • Place 3 [Iron Bins] and 3 [Wood Bins]; Upgrade these too
  • Place 2 [Mace Racks] and 2 [Spears Racks]; Upgrade only one of each one or more times
  • Once your wood resource regeneration is sufficent, instead of crafting mauls you can craft [Pikes]; When mastered, they will cost only 15 wood resource
  • Once your iron resource regeneration is sufficent, devote one or two slots into crafting [Parrying Daggers]

Here is theory:

- Theor, Clovis, and Karal will still accept [Polearm/Lance/Spears] as weapons because they can equip it as a weapon. Theor preffers swords and Karal preffers axes but if you have two [Spears Racks] then you won't take a negative energy/heart loss even if you suggest+compliment+sell to them. Garreth and Melina will both accept daggers; Same theory above applies except this time it's daggers.

- Crafting and selling is the fastest way to level up early game and we want levels because levels = gems and gems = gold! There will be a certian time in the game were it no longer is profitiable but you have not reached that point in the game yet. Instead of spamming [Mauls] and [Daggers] we are moving on to [Pikes] and [Parrying Daggers] because they give much more XP, gold, and we are still able to maintain resource regeneration and output them at a resonable rate to sell to customers; Remmebmer that buying from customers and selling to customers also gives you XP!

- Again, use the gem-to-money conversion trick. Buy a [Leather Key] for 7 or less gems and sell it for 2.25+ M (Million) gold. You can try saving for other keys or items

Here is the current [Market Place] gem-to-gold conversion table:

  • Wooden Key: Buy for 2 gems and sell for 25k gold; 12,500 gold per gem
  • Leather Key: Buy for 7 gems and sell for 2.25 M gold; 321,428 gold per gem
  • Iron Key: Buy for 63 gems and sell for 20 - 22 M gold; 317,460 - 365,079 gold per gem
  • Golden Key: Buy for 215 gems and sell for 100M -120 M gold; 465,116 - 558,139 gold per gem

* I would just go for the [Leather Key]. By the time you have 200+ gems, even if you saved up, you will be needing the gems for the extra slot in the [Fusion Cauldron]. Yes it is worth spending the gems in the beginning to improve your infastructure!

* Don't be affraid to post a higher price. 99% of the time the key you are offering is the only key so you have basically a perfect monopoly and there are plenty of rich people out there.

* Make sure you don't buy for gems and resell for gems! You are basically giving gems away.

* Be aware of the 10% [Market Place tax]! Suppose I, the seller, want to sell a item for 1 gem, because of the tax, the price that the buyer will see is 2 gems. If I want to sell something for 100 gems, the buyer will see 100 gems but I will only get 90 gems.

* Don't depend on this gem-to-gold conversion too much. You want to start saving towards the extra slots for your [Fusion Cauldron]; 1000 gems for the first upgrade! <<The devs really intend for you to buy gems at this point in time because the upgrade is gem exclusive!>>

* You can sell [Wooden Lockboxes] on the [Trade House] for 25k but start offering [Leather Lockboxes] or lockboxes of higher level for gems. Again, you want to start saving for the extra slots of the [Fusion Cauldron] which cost 1000 gems for the first upgrade.

Working the auction house
There are certian things that are required for [Bulk Orders] which natrually means high demand and higher prices compared to selling them to customers. The listed recipies are for low level players and because it is intended for low level players, I do not include recipies like scrolls, rings, or instruments because those recipies require a building in your city be be a certian level which means you would of already need to invest over 10 M (Million) gold into the city first. Common sense would tell you that a new player doesn't have 10 million gold from the start unless you join a high level city but that has it's disadvantages as well; I will explain this in a later section!

*I have updated this list because of new supply and demand

  • [Parrying Dagger] (level 5 dagger). Weaponcrafting is needed and most players will chose weaponcrafting as the second station. [Bulk Quest] item, 5 are needed, and a good quality parrying dagger is needed for the [Mail Breaker] dagger. You can sell this for 1-2k+ gold easy on Market Place.

  • [Raider's Boots] (level 3 boots). For some reason, you can unlock this with 10 metal working; Meaning you can get this strait from the beginning. This item is a [Bulk Quest] item, 8 are needed, and the good quality version is a ingredient for the [Red Boots]. You can sell this for 2k+ gold on the Market Place.

  • [Fur Loafers] (level 6). Requires a textile worker. Another [Bulk Quest] item. Goes for 5k to 7k+ on the Market Place.

  • [Rapier - Good quality] (level 7 sword). Ten of these are needed for the [Bulk Quest] and [Rapiers] are the base item for the [Wakizashi]. Sells for 3k - 7k gold on the Market Place.

  • [Sling] (level 3 projectiles). Fletching is required. [Bulk Quest] item. Sometimes this sells for 1k and other times 3k depending on supply and demand but because most players don't tend to choose fletching as a second or third profession makes this item slightly rare. Eight slings are required for the [Bulk Quest].

  • [Stilleto] (level 7 dagger). Unlockable via weapon crafting. Aside from needing [Viper essense], this item sells pretty well comparted to what customers will offer you. Being a [Bulk Quest] item, this item will sell for 1k - 5k depending on the supply and demand.

  • [Boiled Leather] (level 4 vest). Requires a worker with textile skill. Literally the most retarded thing on the AH because it is never in stock and if you have to always put out a offer for this item. You can insta-sell this for 2k or offer it for 3k-5k.

  • Buy a [Leather Key] for 7 gems, you get 5-10 free gems per level being a new player, and resell it for 2.25 M + gold; Approx. 285k gold Per gem. Gem price and gold price varies so you have to do some math. For example a price differation of 1 gem can equal 100k+ gold variance; Sometimes you can buy a [Leather Key] for 6 gems

  • PERFECT MONOPOLY! Here is a situation of a [Perfect Monopoly]:

Ten [Woven Bracers (Common)] is required for a [Bulk Quest]. [Woven Bracers (Good-quality)] is also required for making the [Mage Bracers], its neighbor [Dexterous Gloves (Common)] is required for another [Bulk Quest] you have a situation were there is a high demand for items because of it being a item for a [Bulk Quest], used as crafting material, to gear up your heros, but most importnantly the substitutions have really high break chance because they are either too high level or low level and even those items are in high demand because they are needed as crafting material. Lastly, there needs to none of any quality [common - great] in stock that can be bought with gold. You can try listing for gems but you will most likely be put in a queue which means that one of your [Trade House] slots will be used up.

*There are similar situations. You just have to do some research. Hint, if you look at the [Trade House] they are usually items that are requested but not offered even if the quality is [Common] to [Great].

  • Don't be afraid to list something for a high price! Did you know that with in the first 5 minutes of offering something to the [Trade House], you can take the item back without triggering the 3-day trade slot penalty? Take advantage of this [Trade House] mechanic and utilize ; Google search to find out what it is. You might even get gems out of this tactic if you choose the right items and play it right.[/list]

This list basically covers some of the low level request items that are [Bulk Quest] items. Selling the listed items is 2X+ more profitable than selling to customers that walk into your shop even if you try to scam them suing surplus. Most of the time, especially at higher levels, you can buy items that your heros sell to you and list them for 10x the price on the [Trade House] or use them for yourself in [Arena Battles].
How to gear up heros for crafters
Sending out heros is a good way to also earn income but as a crafter, we focus on quantity of special resources earned rather on quality of special resources earned from quest; You want to [Master] a recipie so you can be guranteed a [Good-Quality] item everytime you craft that recipie but to [Master] the recipie you need to craft it many times. Crafters must send out heros on low level quest for the purpose of farming special resources at the risk of breaking our equipment on each trip. Here are some good tips on gearing up heros.

  • Notice that there is a [Quest Set] and a [Arena Set]! The [Arena Set] will allow you to save your good gear for fighting agaisnt other players, PVP, so they won't be broken by sending them into quest. The [Arena Set] of equipment will never break even if it says 50+ % break chance; Well to this day I have yet to have any of my [Arena Set] equipment break.

  • Filling all slots of your hero will give him/her a 25% power bonus! Some players do not read the caption below the hero equipment screen but it says that if you have 8/8 slots filled in, you get a 25% power bonus. This mechanic means that you can put a trash item into the slot and your over power bonus is increased by 25% even if you paid 1 gold for a +1 power item. A lot of players will opt to fill their heros with junk items to save on money.

  • Micromanaging is a hassle. Luckly, you can go into the hero equipment screen, move your mouse into the equipment/item slot, then hold your mouse over the missing slot and it automatically browses the [Trade House] for a valid item; The cheap/low level items are always to the far right of the list.

  • Boss fights! Notice that there is a quest counter, says something like [Number/Number], and doing the quest enough times will allow you to fight the boss. Fighting the boss will give you better rewards and if you win the boss fight, you level up the dungeon which gives you more special resources a run.

  • Did you know that heros who come into your shop sell you gear that can be far better than you can craft? It is a hassle to compliment+refuse customers away but sometimes a hero will come in and offer to sell you a 5 M + item for only 100k; The item level depends on the level of your hero so don't expect 5 M+ anytime soon plus the heros do not sell often and the item sold is still RNG (random number generated) dependent so the hero can sell you anything from a level 1 dagger to level 47 traitorious blade.

  • Buy a key and resell it for gold. For example, spend 7 gems on a leather key and resell it for 2 M+ gold. You can try buying other things like cheap gear for gems and reselling them for gold but those things don't sell as fast and if you sell items for too high and they don't sell then that auction house slot will be locked and if you pull items out of a slot then it will be locked for 3 days which is a pretty large penalty. Make sure you don't buy a key for 7 gems and then sell it for 4 gems. Doing that will just lose you 3 gems lol. Make sure you don't buy a wooden key because it isn't worth that much gold. I suggest buying a leather key instead. Disclaimer, I am only offering suggestion. There may be better rewards on other gem-to-gold conversion.

Leveling up heros is really risky business!!!

Leveling up heros via upgrading buildings in your town increases the level of your heros but at the same time requires you to gear the hero with much more expensive gear according to the level of the hero. Having a high level hero but gearing it with low level gear gives you a 50% break chance. In addition, the battle rankings match you by honor, not your player level or your hero levels; Trust me I did the gem-to-gold trick (got 5 mil at lvl 5 lol; Didn't spend any real money too) and had a 4.5k power level hero I can confirm the matches are honor based, so having a over powered hero doesn't really do you that much good but you still get a couple rounds of easy victories.

The advantage of having a high level hero at low player levels is that you can send that hero to dungeons solo; Notice that the special reward is split depending on the number of heros you send out; You don't get rewards from dead heros so don't send out heros to be cannon fodder. In addition, if you level a building high enough, you can simply put one or more peice of equipment with low break chance on him/her and do a 2k+ dungeon with fast cooldown, sell the special resource on the auction house, at the same time save big money on gear since the only thing you have on your hero is one peice of gear with low break chance. Because you need special resources to progress in the crafting tree, you should farm low level special resources to master your choosen craft. At low levels, you don't have a very high level [Inn] to reduce quest time so I would suggest agaisnt sending all your heros out on high level dungeons. There is nothing stopping you from running a high level dungeon with full gear but you can't beat the low maintenance cost of a single item strategy. At much higher levels, the price of special resources sky rocket from 10k to 50k to 100k; This high skyrocket in price is the reason why I suggest farming low level special resources rather then trying to farm mid level special resources because mid level resources don't have that siginifcant increase in price. What I did was gear up one or two heros to solo farm high level resources and the rest of my heros have a single item to farm low level special resources at high volume. The iron wood special resource sells very well at 5-6k gold.

Again, you may get a high power boost to your heros from the buildings but their base level is just too low. You will still have to stabalize their levels anyway and regear them before you can rush any 4k+ dungeons. Your heros won't even have thier second or third ability anyway.

Hero leader skill
There is a penalty for giving your hero gear with too high of a power level. For example, take a level 5 hero and give it a [common] weapon with over 1000 power and notice that the break chance is over 40%, the cost of the item maybe 400k gold but it's useless if it breaks 40% of the time. You can resolve this by buying a item that is higher in quality. The same item would drop in break chance from 40% to around 1% if it is a legendary quality; Pay-to-win lol (literally every legendary is gem only[maybe b/c of gold cap?]). But for a free player, we can play smart and take advantage of party leader skill to give us a significant advantage and make up for the gold required. Take a look at Clovis's party leader skill which unlocks at level 15; It gives the entire party 15% strength bonus! Combine this with Theor's 25% strength bonus and Melina's 25% bonus and you can do massive damage agiasnt bosses; Magic caster's are kind of expensive to gear and you prob don't have Nya or a high level School of Magic to unlock her 3rd ability for the 40% strength boost[remmebmer the level cap!].

There are obviously other setups like bringing in Gauvin for a extra special resource roll, and it's his first skill too, but you lose out in the team power bonus which is a huge hit if you want to run high level bosses at low levels.
Progression from Crafting to Questing
Once you reach mid-game content, the items you craft take tons of time, requires other materials, special resources, and selling them to customers isn't even close to the price you can sell to other human players on the [Trade House]. There is a reason why I suggest you do not level the [Inn] yet as a low level player but now is the time to explain my reasoning.

  • When you click the [Invest] button of your [Inn], any quest that your heros are on will have the quest time reduced by 20-35+ %; This percent depends on the level of your [Inn]. For example, you have 3 parties of 4 heros (so 12 heros in total) out on the quest that takes 1 hour (60 mins) and you send them out at the same time. Now go to your [Inn] and click the [Invest] button and the 1 hour quest time is reduced by 30% so now it only requires 42 minutes. Clicking the [Invest] button again of the [Inn] buidling will reduce the 42 minutes to 29 minutes; Note the diminishing returns (The first [Invest] saves you 18 minutes, the second saves you 12.6 minutes, the third 8.82 minutes, etc.).

  • The gold cost of the [Invest] button is proportional to the level of your [Inn]. At low levels, you only pay like 100 gold but at higher levels you pay 50k+ gold per [Invest] click for the [Inn]. Leveling up the level of the [Inn] too high at low levels means that you have wasted a lot of gold which could be used reducing the quest time at higher levels. Even if the quest reduction time is only 10%, 20% of 2 hours is still a time save of 12 minutes and since it is so cheap to reduce the quest time, you save a ton of gold while saving time!

  • The Wikipedia page for Shop Heros [Inn] is either out-of-date, for another Shop Heros network such as FaceBook, GooglePlay, or other networks. [Investing] a click in the Steam Version gives up a Percentage Reduction instead of a Flat Time Reduction.

  • Of the teir 1 heros; the ones will most likely have currently have as a new player, some of them have powerful skills such as [Melina's] first skill which gives a 25% power boost or [Theor's] second skill which alos gives you at 25% power boost. However, don't try to go for the third skills of other heros like Albert which requires a level 22 [Fountain] which requires around 8 - 9 M (million) gold investment. [Clovis's] [Leader Skill] gives everyone in the party a 15% power bonus provided he is in the [Leader Position] or left most position on the party screen; This skill is affordable for new players unlike [Albert's] third skill.

  • This is just a theory but if you don't hire a hero from the [Inn], they won't apprear in your [Shop] which means you don't have to sell items to them. You can try this theory to manipulate the type of heros that come in to buy your items. For example, hire only Theor, Clovis, and Karal and they will accept heavy weapons and heavy armor.

  • Take advantage of gear swapping even if the peice of gear is equipped on another hero. Instead of fully gearing every hero you have, move the peices of gear around on the gear screen. Choose a peice of gear that has low break chance; Usually the left most item on the gear selection. If you don't have a peice of gear that has a low break chance, then if you hold your mouse over the missing gear slot then it will automatically take you to the [Trade House] were you can browse for a peice to fit into that slot. By moving peices of gear around, you can save yourself a bit of money since your heros have to rest before they can redeploy on a quest; Doesn't work so well on heros that have rest time reduction.

  • Sometimes a hero will come in and sell you a peice of gear that is far higher in level than you can craft and sometimes that peice of gear can be sold for millions but he only wants it for a small fraction of the price. Barganing takes of a huge chunk of the cost and then you can resell it on the [Trade House] for big money or use it as a quest peice of equipment if the break chance is below 3%; If above 3% then that means that you are either equipping a peice of equiment that is slightly incompatible or the level of the equipment compared to your hero is too great which means that the break chance is higher.

  • Note that break chance depends on the level of your heros and the quality of the item. If you equip a level 25+ equipment on a level 1 hero, the break chance is 50%+ because of the deviation of levels of hero and equipment. The opposite is also true, if you have a level 25 hero but equip a level 1 equipment then the break chance is 50%+. The rarity of the equpment will reduce the break chance; I assume it is a flat percent because it would be impossible to get 0% break chance unless the devs decided to round down. For example, a [common] item will give me 30% break chance but a [good-quallity] item of the same name will give me 15% break chance and a [great-quality] will give me 7.5% and [legendary-quality] will give me 3.25% break chance.

  • Just because a item has 0% break chance doesn't mean that you should invest in it. When you out level the item, the break chance might get as big as 40% and all the gold or gems you spent on it will be wasted.
Item fusion
Should I fuse items?

As a beginner, I would only recommend going for flawless unless you have so much of a item that you use fusing as a method to save space.

There is a wiki page on fusing but the in game probrability is different from the wiki page so maybe the wiki page out-of-date.

Here is my recommended fusing path:

  • Fuse 2 common into good quality; 100% chance of success
  • Fuse 2 good quality into great quality; 100% chance of success
  • Fuse 2 great quality and one good quality into flawless; 100% chance of success. Note that you do not require 3 great quality! Save yourself a bit of cash. Small chance of a item of lower quality but that doesn't really matter since you are low level and the loss isn't that great.
  • Fusing 3 flawless will only give you a 58% of success so I highly do not recommend fusing this unless you have so much of that item that you can't be bothered to care. At a higher cauldron level, you can add more items to increase the probrability. Note that you will most likely easily out level a low level legendary within a few hours anyway if you followed my gold rush guide. The break chance of a legendary may be low but the power it gives you is just not worth it when you start going for mid level dungeons.
*The item must be the same quality and in name, for example: dagger[common]+dagger[common]

Why fuse items? Because it is a cheap way to get a good peice of gear for your level that doesn't constantly break. For example, if you put a level 15 common quality item on your hero, it has a 50% break chance but the same item with flawless quality has a 3% break chance. Mastering a craft will always give you a good quality item and all you have to do is fuse multiple items and you have cheap gear that you toss on your hero to farm dungeons.

Leveling up the cauldron takes ALOT of time; Well everything else takes a long time as well If you haven't already noticed, everytime you level up the town hall, the item that you are currently upgrading in your in instantly completes! Take advantage of being a low level player and don't just rush upgrade your town hall like a noob and waste the special. Use the secondary ability to upgrade things that require 1 hour+ items like the cauldron; A very very important item for crafters. Of course don't neglect things like your resource piles or you will end up in a situation were you can't even craft because the resource piles don't even hold enough resource for you to even craft.
Pro tips and tricks
  • Prevent Carpel Tunnel! Swipping down the resource list with your mouse will automatically collect the resources for you.

  • All your heros have a equipment set for adventuring into dungeons and equipment set specifically, called the [quest set], for PVP. If you don't want to risk your equipment to break during a dungeon run, put it into the [arena set] and it will be safe from breaking. To this day, I have yet to see any of my [arena set] equipment break even if I equip them with gear that gives them 40%+ break chance; Prob b/c devs want to promote cash income.

  • Alot of player do not understand how cooldown upgrades work. Suppose that I have a workstation that requires 100 hours to upgrade. New players, or those who are not aware, will think that 100 hours is a godly long time but this is not the case. If you read the [Township] buiding description, if you invest ONE CLICK into the [Township] anything that you currently are upgrading in your shop will have its upgrade time reduced by 35%! If you know any math, you realize that this is a diminishing reward but still worth it. You don't have to fully upgrade the [Township] to fully upgrade something. Save yourself some money!

  • So you are running out a perticular resource? Did you know that you can just go the the resource building and spend a little money, don't invest the entire bar; just a few clicks, and you will regenerate the resource. A lot of players do not understand investing mechanics; They only understand upgrading mechanics.

  • Same thing can be done with questing. Invest one click for the [Inn] and you reduce the on going quest time by 30%. Even the end game quest can be done in a couple of clicks. The cost of each click will go up as the building levels up.

  • Sometimes it is not a good idea to be invited into a highly developed city. If you read the tips earlier, the investing mechanics will reduce upgrading time, quest time, give instant xp, give instant resource just by investing a single click into the respective buidling. You can obviously tell what I'm trying to say here, a city with high level buildings will cost you around 100k+ gold just for a single investment which is very hard on the wallet for a new player. Instead, you should join a low level city so you can enjoy the benifits of investments but not pay 100k+ gold for a single investment.

  • Sometimes I put something on the auction house for too high of a price or the supply goes up and the price goes down and I can't sell it. Many of us don't want to get the 3 day auction house slot penalty but after it is listed on the auction house for 5+ hours, you can remove the item without getting the 3 day penalty of having a auction house slot locked.

  • I have mentioned this many times through out my guide but you can purchase a [Leather key] for 7 gems and then resell it for 2 M+ gold. Make sure you don't resell the leather key for 4 gems! Don't say I didn't warn you. This is a very fast way to earn gold as a new player.

  • You can also try saving up 214 gems and buy a [gold key] and convert it to 100M gold.

    • [Wooden Key]: Don't buy!
    • [Gold Key]: 100M gold/214 gems = 467,289 gold per gem
    • [Leather Key]: 2.25M gold / 7 gems = 321,428 gold per gem
    * You buy with gems then sell for gold. Do not buy with gems and then resell it for gems!

  • Take advantage of click investing into the [Inn] to reduce the quest time of your heros. A single click will reduce any ongoing quest by 30%. This effect has dimminishing return so if a quest is 1000 seconds, the first click will reduce the quest by 300 seconds to 600 seconds; 600 seconds will be the new quest time that will be reduce for the next click. Do not over invest! This is because your heros have to rest so you will just be idling if. The price goes up as the level of the Inn goes up so you can save this for later or use a single or two clicks to reduce the quest time to reasonable times. The quest times will get mega retarded long over time so don't over spend on the Inn early into the game; Save it to get you through the end game.

  • [Bulk Item Quest] rewards are sometimes worth paying a high price. For example, you may need to spend 250k+ gold purchasing all the equipment off the [Trade House] but you always get 10-25+ gems and a key which sells for 250k gold to 2.25M+ gold. In the early stages of the game, take advantage of the gem-to-gold conversion and use the gold and invest in your infastructure and your shop.

  • A trick to undercutting player in the [Trade House] is to click on the item you want to offer and then look at the lowest price offered, Shown middle right, and offer the item for like 1 gold less. You can pull the item(s) off the [Trade House] provided that it is within 5 minutes. Keep checking on your items and make sure you check within the 5 minutes of the new offer or else it you will get the 3-day penalty if you try to cancel it.

  • Notice how some buildings have a glowing aura around it? That is because it is effected by a [Passive] boost from [Investing] to the building. The [Collective] boost is a passive boost that effects everyone in the city and the duration can be seen when you select the building. The [Active] boost effects only the [Investor] who spends money on the [Invest] button; You just need to click it a single time to get the [Active] boost effect. Note that the cost as well as the effect increases but as a new player, I highly suggest you play a [Active] playstyle then switch to [Passive] because the cost of [Investing] in a high level city is just to expensive ATM. If you feel like you are a [Passive] player then feel free to join a high level city.

why are all the comments below 90% yours? If it takes that much convincing for others... its already a failure.

This guide is outdated. Key flipping (buying and selling keys) now requires opening some chests first, making it much less effective for early game players. But don't worry, this just means that playing the game effectively has also become more interesting. No more need to grind out specific items or keeping your heroes at low level.

You'll make a ton more money and get through the early game significantly faster buy sending heroes on missions and selling the gemstones, and the more you do it, the more valuable AND MORE gemstones you'll get per mission. Selling 1 item and not progressing will cost you a vast amount of time and slow down your income over the longer term. The heroes still buy items while on quests, so you should be questing every second you can.

So you assume a lot? This guide is based on assumption and theories.... Maybe you should have lead with that opposed to assuming people cannot read. Please go ahead. Correct later.

Just saying, but you can't buy keys, or anything for that matter, with gems until lvl 15. that really stunts this guide's effectiveness

Thanks for the work, but I have found buckle hats and small shields to be far far far more money and efficient. Especially with the x2 surcharge event, couple of racks and I can surcharge every sale.

-The entire point behind selling leather keys for 2.5mil gold is so that you can upgrade shop stuff+town hall to rush upgrades.

-Same point as above just more gold/gem. Of course prices have changed because of no break event.

-I never tested gems. I will correct later.

-This one is just a disclaimer.

-Income is different from net income since net income is after taxes.

-There are alot of achivements that are easy but these two achivements are just are inline with the strategy I have laid out. Basically extra income while getting Shop xp at the same time.

This is a trade off strategy; You are converting gems into gold and then using that gold to rush your buildings and upgrading your shop.

You can't just go around saying people should prove themselves wrong; What kind of fail logic is that? You have to state were my information is wrong so I can research and correct mistakes.

Sorry everyone, I had to delete comments from obvious level 1 noob even doubts information provided by Cloudcade, makers of Shop Heros, themselves.

Hiws, have fun farming sewers. I don't know how a new player will have 5+ adventuring slots but I guess your wallet can find that solution for you.
