It works both before and after you marry her. Important to remember to leave the location and come back for it to take effect. The door to the Temple of Dibella is sufficient.

Good idea, the Dibellists' hoods always bothered me. I wonder, is she still incapable of providing the "lover's comfort" effect because she never sleeps? Because that would still put me off the nuptials.
