HOW TO SWITCH TO DEV BRANCH.
By ~ Varda Elentari ~
Alright, for a while I've noticed that the majority of The Isle players dont know how to switch to the Dev Branch, I realize that this can sometimes be a giant pain in the buttox. So, to stop the endless confusion and frustration i give you all the guide to switching to dev branch. enjoy.

GUIDE TO SWITCHING TO DEV BRANCH:

1. Go to library (if you cant find library look to the top of your screen).
2. Right click The Isle (Its on the left hand side of the screen).
3. After right clicking The Isle a tab should pop up, if you look all the way at the bottom of the tab you'll notice the word "Properties".
4. After clicking Properties you'll be brought to a new page, at the top of the screen towards the right you'll notice the word "BETA".
5. After clicking BETA you'll see a small bar with a drop down arrow, click the drop down arrow and you'll see the word Devlopment among the other options.
6. After clicking Devlopment you version of the Isle should automatically update to the current version of The Isle on the Dev Branch.
7. It may take some time depending on various factors, if it take to long it's always a good idea to exit steam and relog.

stop calling it dev branch is the problem, confuses people, and when the qa branch is up and running, it'll require to change branches once more.

the uh, testing branch, aka the Quality testing branch, is only going to be open when they need more support to testing any hidden bugs that they haven't found yet, then fix those bugs, then release the update when they feel its ready.

They're completely rewriting the game with new base code so I highly doubt there will be a dev branch of that any time soon. Some developers do allow you access the BETA branch as it allows them to gain feedback on what still needs fixing. If you value your save games etc when you play games its best to avoid the BETA versions. If you like to try out new features as soon as they're added but not necessarily complete or stable and you're ok with crashes and possible loss of game data then give the betas a whirl. Lady Winters guide at the top works on most Steam games that offer a dev/beta branch. But don't just use the beta branches to play. If you find bugs, let the developers know. They may know of them already, they may not. You'll be helping the games you play improve and sometimes improve faster. Developers are giving you a little something extra so give them something in return. :)

Btw " Dev Branch " was for testing for all players but they don't want us to see the huge update so they will need to find bugs and Dev branch will never be able to use anymore
