100% Mercantilism & Venetian Sea
Von Siu-King**
100% Mercantilism seems hard?
Venetian Sea: Have a 90% Trade share in both the Alexandria and Constantinople nodes as Venice, owning less than 10 cities, too tricky?
You come to the right place!

100% Mercantilism
Video:

First you have to ally big powers like Austria, Hungary, Poland and start removing Kebab!

You HAVE to take Religious idea, because it gives +2 Papal Influence and you can convert those accursed infidels quickly.
Also you must ally with the Pope and max out your relationship (Keep it a constant +200), because the opinion of the Pope will change your PI income.

Then just keep buying +1 Mercantilism with every 100 Papal Influence you get!

Remember, Max out your Papal Influence income!
At one point I have a bunch more modifier that gives me up to +18 PI per year.

Then blob over to middle east and north africa and keep converting, each conversion gives bonus PI too.
Venetian Sea
Video:

Once you have 100% Mercantilism it makes it MUCH easier because of +200% provincial trade power.
I also stacked over +100% Trade Efficiency and Global Trade Power from policies and decisions and all that crap.
Constantinobul went as far as 126.9 Trade Power lol
Ideas: Influence, Religious, Plutocratic, Trade, Quality, Expansion

Then you have to get as many Merchants as you can. I got 18 of them pushing trade.
Colonial wars!
Take colonies from Spain and Portugal etc with your big friends, make sure you can stack more merchants because every merchant you steer downstream towards gives you +10% trade power modifier in that node.
And Colonies also transfer trade power to you.

Lastly you have to build a lot of light ships! That shouldn't be a problem because of metric ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of trade money you will be getting in Constantinobul/Istanople. I had stocked up 100k cash for them and I built 1000 light ships. (Pretty overkill)

Big Thanks.

Thanks. Worth mentioning it's also worth it to DoW on Spain or whatever and take a bunch of colonies since the colonies give you Merchants+Trade Power too

You have to keep the trade centers for yourself, then you have all the trade ideas and policies and modifier to buff it up (and Mercantilism), you can see Constantinople alone gives me 100 TP

Don't they suck Trade Power from you in the nodes?

Cilent States
Don't think that existed in my run (didn't buy Mare Nostrum anyway)

What are the steps for getting back down to 10 provinces after blobbing so hard and still keep the right amount of Trade Power? Also, isn't this blobbing hurting the Republican Tradition of a Merchant Republic (20 province cap)?
