I know this response is two years late, but I already typed it out.
You don't actually need to use trial and error for the T puzzle, there are actually three hints in total, and they're all around the area the airship docks on each island.
You've pointed out the one on the wall of the airship port on Lab Island and on Cannon Island, but you missed the one on House Island - it's on the wall above just as you exit the airship.

Minor correction when you describe finding the coordinates on the beacon of House Island. You mention it has 4 flashes, when in fact House Island's beacon is 3. (Cannon Island is the one with a 4 flash cycle).
