Welcome to a basic starter guide for the Newly steam released Zezenia Online. This MMORPG is reminiscent of Tibia, and a throwback to the early ages of the Hardcore MMORPG.

In this guide I will cover some basic settings, information about classes, where to get started, and some other minor tips and tricks. If you are new to the game or simply looking to learn more, you can find some easy to understand resources here. I hope you enjoy your time in game, and feel free to add me. We will have a Guild soon enough!

Classes and Talents
Classes

MAGE:: The weakest physically of the 3, Mages rely on magic and keeping their distance from their opponents to fight. Mages possess the greatest range of magic versatility and damage, and are generally the masters of AoE. Mages gain 5hp and 10mp per level. Mages rely on their Magic Level to calculate damage/healing

While mages can be somewhat more expensive to hunt with, mastering your kiting ability will reduce that cost by lowering the amount of mana used to heal, thus reducing your potion cosumption. Mages should ALWAYS carry mana potions (what size will vary, but you should start with the cheapest, Ampoules, at 20gp a pop). Because there is no carrying limit in this game (it's simply limited by the number of bags you're carrying, which you can technically carry an unlimited amount of) you should try to carry as many as you can afford reasonably (don't forget to upgrade your gear from time to time on the market, if you're not getting drops from monsters).

NOTE: The same applies for all classes, carrying as many MP pots as you can is a good idea for everyone.

At level 30, Mages can choose 1 of 3 subclasses. Each class will require you to do a quest before it is granted, and the classes greatly add to your toolkit and abilites.

The classes are:

  • Shaman: This is the weakest Mage class in terms of damage output, but has high healing and utility. It's a great class for those who wish to play in a party and are ok with lower dps, but offer healing to others and decent AoE.

  • Pyromancer: This is the pure DPS spec. It offers very little in the way of support or utility, instead allowing the player to deal tons of damage both single and multi target. Not much to say about this, very straightforward damage class.

  • Warlock This is the middle ground class. It offers support in the way of controlling/weakening opponents, has some ways to help it's allies, and good damage output. A fairly well rounded class, though not recommended for brand new players as it is probably the hardest of the 3 to play effectively.

____________________________________________________________________________

WARRIOR: The most physically well rounded class, Warriors are a melee class that have high defense and modest attack ratings. Warriors are the hardiest of the classes with 15hp and 5mp per level, but offer the least in terms of magical damage. They are the "Tank" of the game.

Being frontliners, Warriors must be well equipped and focus on their skills. As a Warrior, Melee and Defending skills will determine your damage output and defending against damage. It's recommended that you receive the training reward AS OFTEN as possible to push your melee/defending skills up quickly. The higher they are, the more damage you will deal and the less you will take. Equipment scales off of your Melee/Defending skills, so a Warrior with 50 melee fighting will deal more damage with a 15 attack weapon than a Warrior with 30 melee fighting will deal with an 18 attack weapon.

At level 30, Warriors can choose between 2 subclasses; Paladin and Barbarian. Like a Mage you must complete a subclass quest to earn the new title.

  • Paladin: The Paladin is a well rounded fighter, expanding on the basic feel of the warrior by offering good damage and high defense, but on top of this the Paladin has great self healing, and the ability to protect and buff allies and himself. This is the true "Tank Class"

  • Barbarian: As the name suggests, Barbarian is the Warrior class that focuses on brute force. While the Barbarian is still beefy and can take punishment, their defense is lower than the Paladin, but their attack is higher. They also offer more in the way of offensive abilities, and are the damage dealing brother to the paladin.

____________________________________________________________________________

RANGER: Fairly self explanatory, the Ranger deals with ranged combat, similar to a Mage, but with physical weapons; such as a bow, crossbow, boomerangs, throwing knives, and all sorts of ammunition. The Ranger gains 15hp and 5mp per level, and while not as fragile as the Mage, is still not intended to soak up damage like a Warrior, but instead to kite.

Similar to the Warrior, the Ranger relies on their Distance skill to deal damage, the higher it is the better it will scale with the attack on your weapon. Therefore, you should accept training rewards from tasks as often as possible.

At level 30, Rangers can choose between 2 subclasses; Rogue, and Marksman. As with both other classes, you must complete a class specific quest to receive your upgrade.

  • Rogue: While Rogues in most games are stealthy melee fighters, this game steps away from that convention. The Rogue and Marksman are both rangers, but specialise in different things. Rogues weaken their opponents and have a bit more utility than Marksmen, but have a somewhat (not very much) lower damage output. To my knowledge, there is not that much seperating the two subclasses, but you should check out the class guides on Zezenium if you wish to learn more.

  • Marksman: Marksmen have a bit longer range and are more suited for 1 on 1 combat, they typically are at their best when paired with a blocker. Marksmen's abilities focus more on amplifying their own damage and keeping enemies at bay.

Lastly, Talents . Talent points are awarded every level and offer small boosts to your characters performance and stats.

Where to get started
Included is a marked map of Ellaria, the starting city. It covers the very basics of where to get started, and how to begin your journey in the massive world of Zezenia.

Zezenium is a great resource (a player made wiki, google it) for any questions you might have. It has information on just about everything, from hunting areas, spells, classes, items, quests, etc.
General Tips
Just a few general tips for newer players, or brand new players.

  • Tougher monsters are typically further away from town. It is generally safe to assume that nothing particularly dangerous will be in town or close by, therefore, you should explore as much as you can to learn the lay of the land.

  • This game takes the oldschool, hardcore approach. It won't give you quest markers or spots on the map saying "go here and kill 10 of these", but it will give you hints about monsters' locations (usually..). Don't be afraid to use the internet to find what you need, for example: "zezenia orknie location" to find out where a particular monster is that you need for a task. Zezenium is a player made wiki for the game that is a huge databse of info for Zezenia.

  • Try to be aware of your surroundings, and if you run into a dangerous monster that you're wary of, take things slow. Be ready to heal/use a potion when your HP gets low, and try to use your mana efficiently if you know what sort of damage you're taking. If you can heal for 200, and your max HP is 350, try to heal at 150 HP unless you know that the monster you're facing can do more than that in a turn.

  • Attack and Healing spells share a global cooldown; meaning if you cast an attack spell, you must wait til your next turn to heal. This is the biggest change I've noticed from Tibia, so veterans of that game may find the habit hard to break. NOTE: you can still use a potion, so if you've attacked with a spell and feel threatened, don't be afraid to use an HP pot.

  • Training does not work the same way in Zezenia as it does in Tibia, and generally training rewards from tasks are the fastest way to improve your skills. Higher skill = higher damage/less damage taken.

  • Because there is no weight limit for carrying items, it's a good idea to carry a massive stock of potions, so that you can hunt for longer periods of time without having to return to town. The equipment store on the west end of town sells bags, and you can stack them inside of each other indefinitely for essentially infinite carrying space. It's pretty nice, something I hope they never change.

  • Currently.. the death punishment is disabled. I don't know how long it has been disabled for, or when it will come back, but it basically means dying carries no consequence at the moment, and is actually beneficial as it gives you a free trip back to the temple without having to do that pesky walking business. Keep an eye on the news though, as death can be pretty bad when it works the way it's intended. You can drop items on your corpse (which anyone can recover) and lose 2% of your experience and skills! Note: when dying to another player in PVP, you will still suffer a dealth penalty

commenting again , in gerenal opnion , pyromancer is the best mage class but the hardest and the one that have to spend more money and the warlock is the easiest for begginers cuz pyromancer can kill themselves , their ally and controlling what you gonna do is harder than just doing a single monster combo like a warlock do
