Ill Met by Moonlight
In order to obtain both the Ring of Hircine and the Savior's Hide, you will begin by starting the Ill Met by Moonlight quest as normal (talk to Sinding in the Falkreath Guard Barracks).

Once the quest is started continue it as normal, until you enter the Bloated Man's Grotto. From there, you will assist Sinding (the Werewolf) in killing the hunters.

Once all of the hunters have been defeated, the quest will end, allowing you to remove the Cursed Ring of Hircine. You will place the Ring on a nearby corpse and then precede to kill Sinding. When Sinding dies, you will be visited by Hircine and awarded the Savior's Hide.

Once all of that is done, retrieve the Cursed Ring from the dead body that you placed it on earlier and leave the Bloated Man's Grotto and be visited by Hircine, again. This time Hircine will remove the Cursed Ring and award you the (non-cursed) Ring of Hircine.

...And you have just obtained two Daedric Artifacts for the price of one. Enjoy!

See my post below for the first part.

4) I think this is the key point, I ran from him all the way up to the front of the cave so that I was very, very near the entrance but not leaving the cave. I then killed him there and skinned him to get the Savior's Hide. 5) I escaped out of the dialogue as fast as I could (not sure if this was necessary) then I turned and sprinted to the exit of the cave. 6) Upon exiting the cave, the game acted as if I hadn't killed him and Hircine gave me the ring. 7) I verified that both were actually in my inventory. 8) I made another save and closed the game, reenabled USSEP and then reloaded the game and the save and again confirmed they were both there.

This did not work for me on the Special Edition, so I will post here what I did solely in case it might help someone in the future looking for the answer I was looking for when I found this guide.

What I did: 1) I followed the quest until I met Sinding in the cave. I agreed to help him kill the hunters. After killing them I made a hard save. 2) Then I closed the game and disabled the "Unofficial Skyrim Special Edition Patch". I have no idea if this was necessary, but I read somewhere that the ability to get both was patched by USSEP, so I did disable it. 3) I opened the game and reloaded that save with USSEP off. I then talked to Sinding as the game told me to. I then attacked him to make him mad.

I did not get a second visit after following all the steps. I'm also using the unofficial legendary patch. It is likely the cause of this exploit not working.

I have to say I didn't exactly want the Savior's Hide, but it's cool that I can get it without losing the ring.
