Fusion's Chao Editor; How to edit your Chao Garden save

This guide will showcase a very well made Sonic Adventure 2 Chao garden editor, that utilizes the in-game chao garden save
in order for you to edit your save.

Basic Information & Download

Fusion's Chao Garden Editor is a .exe file that will utilize your Sonic Adventure DX (2003 or Steam)
and/or your Sonic Adventure 2 PC Chao Garden save.
(Note: This will not work with any form of a gamecube or dreamcast emulator.)
While containing many features to edit the Chao garden, it also contains many unobtainable items, that now with this tool, are now obtainable. (Note this is not a mod.)

Q: What would be the advantage or the point of this guide, or for that matter this program?
A: This guide and the program made by Fusion is to help people who are wanting to edit their Chao and the garden itself, this can also include but not limited to: the appearance of your chao, the amount of rings you have, edit the black market to contain rarer items, or you can even edit the time span of the garden itself.

Q:How do I save data?
A:It will automatically save once you leave the Chao World.

Q:How do I apply changes/edits I have made?
A:Simply just leave the garden and come back in.
(I believe some edits you make need you to leave Chao World and come back.)

Install & How to ...

How to install:
In order to install you must download the link above in the first section.
Once on the website it is recommended to download the latest version.
If you download a exe it will install via a launcher, but if you download the .zip file,
it is recommended to download either 7zip www.7-zip.org/download.html or Winrar www.rarlab.com/download.htm

How to use the tool:
In order to use the tool, you must first go on Sonic Adventure DX (2003 PC version or Steam)
or Sonic Adventure 2 PC. Once you have loaded up Sonic Adventure 2 (or Battle)
go to stage select and select Chao World. Afterwards go to one of the three gardens,
(doesn't matter which one.) Soon the Chao Editor will automatically load up your save and should not display the "The game process has not been found" message. (NOTE: On Sonic Adventure DX, because it does not contain Chao World, it will automatically load up the save once you're in one of the gardens.)
Once the Chao Editor loads the save, the tabs shall not be grayed out anymore, meaning that you're now able to access the tool.

Features

Fusion's Chao Editor contains many options to tweak and hugely edit your chao garden save.

Garden Tab:
This small tab is useful for those who want to edit the rings you have collected in order to purchase items at the black market that may seem to high to buy. The tab also contains a time scale, which can effect the garden, to make a Chao's lifespan longer or shorter.
(Slide right to speed up time, left to slow down time.)

Chao Tab:
In the editor you can change your Chaos and the whole garden itself.
You can the Chao's happiness and even it's character traits.
When editing the Chao you can also edit the textures, appearance, and what type of Chao it is.
The Chao can be from a normal infant, to a dark Chao in only the press of one button. The Chao type bar is also useful for users who want to obtain a Tails, Knuckles, or Amy Chao the easy way.
You can edit the Chao's skills and stats. Example being, you can change the Chao's swimming skills from grade 'd' to grade 's' and you can even change the animal features that the Chao contain. The tool also allows you to be able to change the Chao's DNA and you can give the Chao toys that are usually only obtainable through contests (like Chao racing.)
In the Chao tab you can also, by the click of a button, give the Chao lessons, without having to go to the preschool and waiting.

Animal Tab:
With the Animal tab you can modify the animals (or chaos drives that you gain from killing specific enemies) that are currently in the garden.

Fruits Tab:
In the Fruits tab, you can add and/or change the fruit that is already, or will be in the Chao garden soon as you add it in. You can also edit the size of the fruit to your liking.
As seen in the picture to the right.
Hats Tab:
With the Hats tab, you can spawn up to twenty-four hats in any of the three Chao gardens in Sonic Adventure DX or 2. This includes hats that are gained from the story mode and in even the black market.

Seeds Tab:
The Seeds tab is as it sounds, it basically makes it to where you can spawn up to twelve seeds
in any of the three Chao gardens. Note: Your Chao does need a "watering can" and a "shovel"
to plant the seeds, which is obtainable in the tool by going to the Chao tab and clicking on the "toy" sub-tab and selecting the items, or you can obtain it by winning Chao contests. This is effective for the reason of plating a tree.

Black Market Tab:
This tab is used for editing what the vendor at the Chao black market sells.
With this tab, you can make him sell things that are usually not for sell at the market, which is helpful for users who do not want to collect more emblems just to get more items in the store.
You can also edit the amount of things he is currently selling.

Errors & Overview

The most common is the "The game process has not been found" error.
This is caused by the tool not being able to retrieve the save file, this could be caused from the Chao garden save file being corrupt, not created yet, or not entering the Chao garden.
Of course, for some it still happens even if it isn't corrupt and you do enter the Chao garden.
In order to fix this, simply run the tool as admin and once run it should automatically detect the Chao save file if you're in the Chao Garden.
Known ISSUE: As reported by the creator of the tool: "Deleting a chao while it is in the kindergarten classroom will create a glitched slot in the classroom. This effectively reduces the number of classroom slots that you have available. This will be fixed in a future version of the program." -Tehfusion

It doesn't work with SADX. I've tried and I get told that it couldn't find a game running even though I was running Sonic Adventure on Steam.

Yeah I just tried it and no dice, loaded into the MR chao garden, left the game unpaused, booted up the editor, still didn't detect.

Same issue, can't get the editor to recognize SADX although I just tested it with SA2B and it worked. Using betterSADX with DC conversion, tried running as admin and no dice.

Wish I could tell you something else. If anything, I guess just try compatibility mode, I had to do that.

The program doesn't detect my game at all, any ideas?

My chao garden works fine, so I don't think that it's glitched. I've tried every combination of loading the program before I launch the game, after I launch the game, before I enter the garden, and after I'm already in it, all in admin mode. Are there any other solutions for getting it to notice my game?
