Controller config for SMOOTH driving!
By temez
The setup was made for Xbox 360 controller, but assumably does its job with any other analog controller too.

HeyGuys
After literally hours of tinkering with the controller settings, I have managed to come up with a controller setup that allows you to steer the vehicle as smoothly as possible with minimal twitchiness.

However, if you're into "tapping" your controller-stick instead of using it smoothly in the same manner as you would an actual wheel, then this setup may not suit you the best.

The setup

Here are the key settings:
  • Set all deadzones to 10
  • Set steering sensitivity to 10
  • Set speed sensitivity to 90
  • Set controller filtering sensitivity to 100 (yes, all the way up)
  • Advanced OFF

Side-notes

- My controller input is set to 3 (probably doesn't matter, but I've read some controversial stuff on the internet)
- FFB 100 (go by your own taste here, I assume)
- the setup focuses on steering, so for the throttle and brake sensitivities I haven't given too much thought as they haven't been feeling that problematic anyways (however my throttle sensitivity is set to 20, brake sensitivity to 30, if you'd like to try them)
- automatic clutch
- IF you feel like the car won't turn enough for your taste at certain speeds, but everything else feels okay, try reducing the speed sensitivity a little and see how that feels

Feel free to test it out and leave any thoughts to the comments section, thx!

This config is good but I also used @grahama speed sensitivity and it works smooth, however, certain vehicles still slide around like LMP or road b vehicles.

Gt3 vehicles work perfect so far.

Thx for the comments! And yeah the 90 speed sensitivity...well, I know it's a bit tricky :D braking especially becomes a key factor in cornering. I had major issues with the setting first too, but kinda realized it was the only one that was going satisfy me at other situations apart from tight corners.

Would be interesting to hear what others think of that, I guess pretty high speed sensitivity setting we've got there!

Not sure how it affects you, but I had to turn speed sensitivity right down - at 90, I simply couldn't turn corners, the car would go straight ahead. I've changed mine to 23 and I can now turn corners at speeds over 60. Your other settings may be an improvement over my old ones, thanks for sharing.
(My controller is a joypad similar to PS3, using 1 joystick for accel/brake, other for steering.)
