Alpha 1.10 released!
Description
Release date: Q1 2017
Download the Current Build here![dwoboyle.itch.io]
Void Wisp is an ambient arcade runner where you only earn points by getting close to obstacles without crashing into them.

You are a wisp. A collection of random energy that has coalesced into a sentient form. You float through the great nothingness that permeates existences, skimming off aether from the whatever that is nearby.

Features:
  • Enjoyable bite-sized arcade gameplay that will have you saying "Just one more run!"
  • Customizable Difficulty settings and accessibility options that can be tuned to your preferred way to play.
  • Simple two button controls. All you need is a mouse.
  • Many accessibility options to ensure anyone can play.
  • Dreamy Interactive music. Notes play as you when you near an obstacle to create a dreamy arrhythmic melody.
  • 4 game modes that each offer a unique challenge.
  • Runs at 60 frames per second.

Current Build:
Void Wisp is currently in development. The version you can buy now is the alpha and contains all the major features. The main development focus from here on will be to add content (obstacles, instruments, stages, etc). There is a free demo version that offers two modes and slimmed customization options.

Most recently added features are:
  • Traveler Mode - This takes players through pre-made levels and acts sort of like a puzzle mode.
  • Laser Obstacle - This is a fast moving and long obstacle that generally spawns aiming at the players location. The frequency and condition on how it spawns can be set in the difficulty options.
  • Obstacle Types - These are cosmetic "skins" for obstacles. At the moment there is only the Outline type that you can see in the videos above.
  • General bug fixes and balancing.

Why Play It Now?
Other than to generate interest and receive feedback, I believe it's important to showcase a game through development. The core gameplay is enjoyable enough that folks won't be wasting their time playing it now. Even if it only holds your attention for 20 minutes, I believe you'll really enjoy your time spent with this game even in its current form.

Minimalistiically great game!

We are running the Game Development World Championship and would like to see you participate. It's good for your visibility and won't cost you a penny.

You can check it out at www.thegdwc.com .

Good luck with the development!

I just uploaded an update. Nothing too major on the frontend other than some new graphics here and there. Hope you enjoy it if you check it out.

The players hitbox is real small. Basically the white dot in the center.

It looks like the hitboxes are abit inaccurate..
