To get the picture for this, i went on their website here [ageofcavemen.com]
I have written this because i believe it is a very good game, but can be hard to start. This is my opinion on how to progress through the tutorial, and to progress through the game.
If you have a question leave it in the comments below or add me.
1.) The Tutorial.
First, you are introducted to 2 characters; they are valueless, don't try to remember them..

These buildings can be placed anywhere for now, it is not important at the very beginning.

The spearmaiden tells you to build a Hunter's Cave.
This bit is explained, but i would advise you wait the time out and do not spend a gem.

You are then told to build a Stone Quarry.
Again, this is explained, but i would advise you wait the 10 seconds and do not waste a gem.

Then you must build a Stone Storage.
This is also explained, but i wouldn't waste the gem. Gems can become quite valuable.

You build an axethrower tower.. this is getting repetitive..
But stay focussed; don't use the gem.

Build the Warrior's Cave, it's simple, keep your gems :)

That's 5 gems saved from waiting 50 seconds...

When you are told to train 20 warriors; this is a good time to use the gems as it saves about 5 minutes. You will then have 498 gems.

You then attack in the campaign, i would advise you use 5 troops as it will take about 25-30 seconds to finish the raid and will save 5 minutes of time (you do not recieve your troops back if you win/lose).

Enter your name; it can be anything.
I recommend you purchase a second builder, as it is 250 gems, but means you can get double the work done in the same time.

You are on your way to becoming a true caveman!

2.) Buildings.
Here, you can start to free-roam more; as you do not have a set pattern to follow.

I recommend using the "buildings" button to fully upgrade your base before upgrading the "Village Center"; the "Village Center" is the Town Hall in CoC (for anyone that doesn't play CoC, it's the main center of your base).
You want to upgrade this last as a base is better when the buildings are better; if you rush the Village Center, you will find harder opponents. Upgrading everything first means you are better equipped to fight better opponents, and you will have more/better troops to diverse/change the way you raid a player (but i will explain this in another section).

To ensure everything is upgraded before the Village Center, click on the "buildings" button next to duty, which is next to shop.
You will then be given a list of the buildings you need to upgrade before you have maxed out your Village Center; be warned, the VC is there too so you need to be careful you don't upgrade that.

Always upgrade the Village Center last.
3.) Building the base setup.
This is possibly the most important part of the base. Having the buildings in the correct formation is the most efficient way to block a raid onto you.
This is my base design for my VC3, i will be building base designs for every VC (Village Center) from 3 and above.
Keep two main things protected/surrounded; your Village Center, and your Trained Diplodocus.
I like to farm out the whole map so i have a "clear canvas to paint on", and i like to have one thing in each corner.
When building a base, remember not to include your Training Grounds in the design.
4.) Raiding.
Raiding is a very simple BUT complex thing on this game; if a player has a mistake on their base and you find it first, you can raid for lots of loot. But if a player has not made a mistake, you may have to tactically plan the raid and prepare for a fight.
If the player has a "Trained Diplodocus" in the center of their base, i would advise you plan your raid as the Diplodocus has a splash damage and can easily demolish "all at once" raids.

The following are a list of raid types i like to use. This list will be continued as i find different techniques.

  • All at Once- this method is the most basic, you just spawn all your troops in the same place and hope you don't get killed.

Pro = you can damage one part of the base very quickly.

Con = a diplodocus will destroy this very easily, and cause you to fail your raid.

I do not recommend this unless you find a simple base to raid. Any complicated base will easily tear this apart.

  • Butcher to All at once- This is the same method, except you require a Warrior's Cave level 4, as you will need a "Butcher" or a few. This will soak up the damage for you and let your troops attack, but as soon as the butchers are dead, your raid will fall apart.

Pro = Can be tactical as Butchers prefer to attack Defensive buildings (towers, etc)

Con = Will split apart as soon as the butchers are killed if you do it incorrectly.

I do not heavily recommend this, but if you see a diplodocus not in the center, you can storm it with butchers and then tear the base apart.

  • Spread Apart- This is the method that can fail if done wrong, but if done right is very effective.
There are two ways to do this, one will fail everytime and one will sometimes mess up.
    • Completely Spread Apart - this will fail every time.

You need to place a troop to attack every building, but this is chaos as you spread your troops too far so nobody can get anything destroyed.

Not even going to bother with pros or cons.

    • Tactically Spread Apart - this won't be successful every time, but is personally my favourite technique.

To do this, you have to build clusters of troops at every defensive point, in order to push the defense down. Once the defense is dead, you have time to just raid the base.

Pros = Tactically, this is the easiest way to crush the defense.

Cons = You can spread TOO far, and cause your troops to be too weak to destroy the defense.
5.) Helping me

Zeus, if your internet is quick, try redownloading it.
if not, try waiting, is it first boot? sometimes it takes a while to startup.
If it does ^, just give it a minute.

You have to request troops in your tribe @jcdenton, and they will rest in there until you are attacked. When you are, they will help defend.
