Day of Defeat is an incredible game, and it has 22 official maps.The map you play will determinate the teams , the classes and the gamemode.

1.dod_anzio

4.dod_charlie

Objetives of each team:
Allied team:-Destroy the first 88 'flak' gun
-Destroy the second 88 'flak' gun
-Destroy the Axis radio tower
-Destroy the artillery bunker

Axis team:-Defend the objetives until the time runs out
Is a Paratrooper map?:No
Hints:
As the Allied team: -Use explosive charges to destroy the sea wall (the destructable parts
will be marked with smoke granades)
-Use explosive charges and bazokas to destroy cracked walls
-Use explosive charges and bazokas to destroy the objectives

As the Axis team: -Patrol the tunels to discover infiltrated
-Use the tunels at your adventage
-Try to defend the sea wall as much as you can (to win time)
-Retreat when its necesary, dont be always defending the coast

Objetives of each team:
Allied Objectives: - Destroy the two Axis Nebelwerfers with explosive charges

Axis Objetives: - Destroy the bridge ( requires two tnt charges )

Is a Paratrooper map?: Yes
Hints:
As the Allied team: -Use the mortar to help defending the bridge
-Jump into the water or run away from the bridge if you hear the
Nebelwerfers being used.

As the Axis team: -Use the Nebelwerfers to bomb the enemy bridge (this will not destroy the
bridge, but will slow the enemy movement).
-If you are near the bridge, be aware of the enemy snipers.

Hints: -Remember, there are two roads outside the village, they can be used to flank the enemy
-Some doors can be destroyed

9.dod_flugplatz

Both teams objetives: Capture the 4 flag points and the two planes
Is a Paratrooper map?:Yes
Hints: -There are two big doors made of wood which can be destroyed by shooting an explosive barrel near them
-The plaza in the middle of the map is huge, a sniper or a machingunner can defend that area

10.dod_forest

Both teams objetives: Capture the 4 trenches
Is a Paratrooper map?: No
Hints: -There are some mortars in this map, they can be used to bomb the enemy trench
-If you capture an enemy trench, the mortar will turn in the other direction, pointing to the enemy
-There are some caves under the trenches, they can be used to surprise the enemy

11.dod_glider

Allied Objetives:
- Destroy the '88' flak cannon
- Destroy the "Freya" Radar set
- Destroy the Radio room inside the castle

- Capture the German bunker

Axis Objetives:
-Defend the objetives until the time runs out

Is a Paratrooper map?: Yes
Hints:
As the Allied team:
-The radar can only be destroyd a bazooka (requires multiple shoots)
-Some walls are destructible (using bazookas or explosive charges)

12.dod_jagd

Gamemode: Detonation/Capture the item
Teams: British vs Axis
Objetives of each team:
British objectives:
-Recover and return the plans from the downed glider
-Defend the Cromwell tanks

Axis Objetives:
-Defend the battle plans
-Destroy both British Cromwell tanks

Is a Paratrooper map?:Yes
Hints:
As the British team:
-Use a bazooka to destroy the church tower
-Dont let a enemy reach the tanks, they can be destroyed very quickly
-Try to patrol every street, dont stay always in the same one.

As the Axis team:
-The only way to destroy the tanks is using a bazooka, protect the soldier who carries it.
-If an enemy recover the plans, kill them before they return to the command center.
-The church tower is a great position for snipers, but it can be destroyed by the enemy

For both teams:
-There are a lot of buildings with mg and sniper positions

For both teams: -Some areas will be blocked at first but if the allies capture the fountain, those areas will been unlocked

As the Allied team: -Try to attack from different sides at the same time

While playing this map enter spectator mode, change to free roam mode and go under the map, you will see a little box. Enter inside the box and you will see mapmaker name.


3.dod_anzio
While playing this map search for a door with a window on it (its near the bridge). Shoot the window and use the flaslight you will see some text.


4.dod_forest
While playing this map go here:

There will be a rabbit in a bush, the rabbit, he will move.


5.dod_falaise
While playing this map go to the axis jeep, press use in the jeep and you will hear a menssage


6.dod_caen (two Eastereggs)
First one:
While playing this map go here:

Search this bookshelf (The one at the right side)

Press use in the bookshelf, a panel will appear with a image (Where's Wally?)


Second one (I didnt manage to make this one)
There is a way to make the statue of the horse neigh


7.dod_charlie
While playing this map come here

Enter the bunker

Pickup this helmet

Leave that bunker and go under the tunnels near the big cannon, and search for a number (42)

Destroy the crate, and a Fg-42 will appear, you can take if you want. (The crate is unbreakable if you dont have the helmet





Gameplay hint:

If someone needs ammo, press h to drop some, this can only be done one time per life.

Yeah, that happened to me also. As far as i know, some servers have some modded map files which replaces the British team with The American team. It could also be a server plugin, but im not so sure about that hyphotesis.

A Problem i run into playing British map on Multiplayer severs, For example lets say Caen is Picked, but Instead of British, Its Americans? if anyone could Help, Thank YTou

Um, you maybe thinking about cs_chateau from Counter Strike. As far as I know there isnt a map named dod_hateau in Day Of Defeat, at least in the official map pool.

Yeah that map must be either from a earlier version or a custom map. The retail maps are all pretty much set in either Italy or France or somewere near the Western Front
