Show me what humans are made of
Perform 10 Target Actions (Arcade)

Target actions are the small tasks that pop up during arcade mode, such as "roll 3 times," "jump 3 times," etc. They are very easy to do and understand, so you should have no problem with this achievement. To make things even easier, the actions involving hitting your opponent with certain attacks will work even if they're blocking. Rolling is done by simply pressing the light punch and light kick buttons at the same time.

The one target action that may confuse people is the one asking you to perform a drive cancel. A drive cancel can be done by performing two special moves in quick succession as long as the hyper drive meter (the small blue meter at the bottom left/right) is halfway full. Your first special move must actually hit the opponent in order to do a drive cancel.

If you keep following the target actions you should get this achievement after one match.

What's wrong?
Perform 300 Target Actions (Arcade)

See the achievement above.

If you play through arcade mode frequently and keep doing the target actions, you should get this one fairly quickly.

Hey, hey, hey!
Be challenged by "Billy" and win in ARCADE

To fight Billy, you must perform at least 2 target actions in each round (not match) prior to your 4th match. If done correctly, you'll get the "Here Comes A New Challenger!" message after your 3rd match, and have Billy as your opponent. Now just beat Billy and you'll unlock both the achievement and Billy as a playable character. Keep in mind that if you do at least 5 target actions instead of 2, you'll fight Saiki instead of Billy.

Great
Be challenged by "Saiki" and win in ARCADE

Fighting Saiki is similar to fighting Billy, except you must perform at least 5 target actions in each round prior to your 4th match. If you did enough target actions, you'll fight human Saiki instead of Billy. Just like with Billy, defeat Saiki and you'll get the achievement and Saiki's human form as a playable character.

You can't win against me!
Be challenged by "Ash" and win in ARCADE

You'll be able to fight Ash if you have at least 4,000,000 points before you're 6th match in the stadium. If you have enough points, you'll get the "Here Comes A New Challenger!" message after your 5th 3v3 match and have Ash as your opponent. The best way to get points is by doing lots of target actions and combos. Simply beat him and the achievement is yours.

This is... my victory!
Clear ARCADE MODE on VERY HARD

Much easier than it sounds. If you pick a good team, you should be able to get this easily. Even if you lose, you'll be able to continue again and choose a benefit such as 25% health on your opponent.

If you don't know how to use anyone, pick Kyo and keep using his "Kototsuki You" move (half circle backward + kick). Kyo will run to your opponent and grab them, and they will usually not block it if timed right. Also, use well-timed crouching heavy kicks (which are very useful against the two bosses).

How was it?
Clear ARCADE MODE without continuing

Go into options, set the difficulty to very easy, and make the time infinite. Pick any characters you want and try to beat your opponents while performing little combos and target actions. If done correctly, you should have less than 2,500,000 points when you finish the match at the stadium, meaning that you won't have to fight Saiki and Dark Ash, making this achievement much easier to get. Alternatively if you don't feel like underscoring your points, and can just keep using Kyo's run-grab move to beat Saiki and Dark Ash.

Time will soon turn to ashes...
Get an S at the victory screen

In the options, set the difficulty to very easy and the time to 99 seconds. Go to arcade and quickly defeat your opponents while receiving little damage. If you defeat them quick enough and don't get KO'd, you should get S rank easily.

After all, you're just trash.
Get an SS at the victory screen

Like the preceding achievement, change the game settings so it's at very easy with 99 seconds. You now must defeat your 3 opponents in a single arcade match without receiving any damage and within a quick amount of time. If you're having trouble, use Kyo's run-grab move (half-circle back + kick) so that you'll keep grabbing the enemy, who won't really block that much. If you get hit, you'll have to quit and restart since you won't get an SS. Follow this method and you should get an SS in no time.

Getting an SS rank will not unlock the "Time will soon turn to ashes..." achievement.
Arcade/Versus Achievements
These achievements can be earned in either Arcade or Versus mode (practice mode will not work).

IMPORTANT: The easiest way to earn the achievements involving super moves and cancels is to go into arcade and keep completing target actions to build up meter.

Hmph... this is only natural.
Get 10 straight wins (Arcade, Versus)

A win refers to winning a single round, not a match. If you get KO'd once, your streak will reset. The easiest way to get this is by going into versus and using another controller to make P2 a lifeless dummy. From there you can just keep KO'ing them. Another easy way is to set the difficulty to very easy and keep using Kyo's half circle-back+ kick move where he grabs them.

Yay! Perfect!
Perform 10 Perfect Victories (Arcade, Versus)

Perfect victories are rounds where you win and receive no damage. You'll know you got a perfect if the announcer shouts "perfect!" at the end of the round. Keep in mind that you'll lose health if you block a special move.

Similar to the achievement above, either use a second controller to rack up wins, or set the difficulty to very easy and use Kyo's grabbing move.

Strength!
Hit 100 times using Special Moves (Arcade, Versus)

A special move is a type of move that can be done by performing a special input with your control stick/keyboard, then by pressing a button. An example of a special move is Kyo's "yamibarai" projectile move, done by inputting your stick a quarter circle forward and pressing the punch button. Simply hit opponents using 100 special moves to get this achievement.

Spinning!
Hit 100 times using EX Special Moves (Arcade, Versus)

An EX special move is an enhanced version of a regular special move, performed by inputting a special move and two punch/kick buttons as opposed to one. So to do Kyo's EX "yamibarai" move, you need to do a quarter circle forward + both light punch and heavy punch. You will need at least a bar of power gauge (yellow bar at bottom left/right) to perform an EX move.

Yahoooo!
Hit 100 times using Super Special Moves (Arcade, Versus)

A super special move is an attack that has a special animation, deals a fair amount of damage, and has a more complicated input than regular special moves. An example of this is Terry's "Buster Wolf" move, performed by doing two quarter circles forward and then pressing a kick button. Using a super special move requires one bar of the power gauge.

Some super special moves may be difficult for some to input, so it's best to stick with the ones dealing with quarter circles such as Terry's Buster Wolf.

Play time is over!
Perform 50 Super Special Moves Finishes (Arcade, Versus)

Same as the above achievement, except the super special move has to K.O. your opponent. You'll know it KO'd them if the background changes color and has a firework effect.

Yeeeeaaah!
Hit 100 times using EX Super Special Moves (Arcade, Versus)

An EX super special move is performed the same way as a regular super special move, except that you need to press two punch/kick buttons as opposed to one. So to do Terry's EX Buster Wolf, do two quarter circles forward and press both the light and heay kick buttons. You'll know you did the EX version if the background turns black for a second. Using an EX version requires two bars of the power gauge. Keep in mind that not all moves have an EX version, so check your command list.

Hey!
Hit 100 times using NEO MAX Super Special Moves (Arcade, Versus)

A NEO MAX move is an extremely powerful move that usually requires you to perform a special input + two punches/kicks. To use a NEO MAX move, your drive gauge will have to be maxed, and you'll need at least 3 bars of your drive gauge (it will only cost 2 drive gauge bars if you're in hyper drive mode). An example would be Terry's "Trinity Geyser" move, performed by inputting two quarter circles forward and pressing both punch buttons.

And the final blow...!
Get 50 NEO MAX Super Special Moves Finishes (Arcade, Versus)

Same as the above achievement, except the NEO MAX move has to K.O. your opponent. You'll know it KO'd them if the background changes color and has a firework effect.

Come back later!
Perform 50 Drive Cancels (Arcade, Versus)

To perform a drive cancel, hit your opponent with a special move, then immediately input a different special move. You'll need at least half a bar of your drive gauge (blue bar at the bottom left/right which builds up by hitting your enemy), and the first attack has to actually hit the opponent. If done correctly, you'll see the text "drive cancel" appear on the screen. An example of a drive cancel is Terry's "Burn Knuckle" to "Crack Shoot."

Mission Complete!
Perform 50 Super Cancels (Arcade, Versus)

A super cancel is just like a drive cancel, except you must link a special move into a super special move (and again you'll need half of your drive gauge). Similar to drive cancels, you'll see the text "super cancel" on the screen if performed right. An easy character to do this with is Elisabeth; if you keep doing quarter circles + punches, you should be able to link into her "Noble Blanc" super easily.

Piece of cake!
Perform 50 HD Cancels (Arcade, Versus)

An HD cancel is done by simply performing either a drive cancel or a super cancel while in Hyper Drive mode. To go into Hyper Drive mode, press the light kick and heavy punch buttons (A and Y buttons on 360 controller by default) at the same time while your drive gauge is maxed. If you perform a HD cancel correctly, you'll see the text "HD cancel" appear on the screen.

Heheh. Not bad.
Perform 50 MAX Cancels (Arcade, Versus)

To do a MAX cancel, your drive gauge will need to be maxed and you'll need at least 3 bars of your power gauge. Go into Hyper Drive mode, and hit your opponent with a super special move. While performing the super special move, do the input for your NEO MAX move so that you'll perform a MAX cancel (you'll see "MAX CANCEL" on the screen if it worked). Not all moves can be MAX canceled. An easy one to do is NEST Kyo's, which is done by doing two quarter circles forward + punch, followed by two quarter circles forward + all kicks.
Mission Mode Achievements
These achievements are obtained by playing through the various modes found in the Mission option.

Looks like I was just on time.
Clear Time Attack mode for the first time

Time Attack has you fight against 10 random enemies to get the best time. The easiest character to do it with would probably be Kyo (or NESTS Kyo). Just keep using his half-circle back + kick move so he'll keep grabbing the opponents. If you don't get hit a lot you should be able to clear it with little trouble.

You can't compare to me.
Clear Time Attack mode with 30 characters

Just like before, except now you need to complete time attack with 30 characters. If you lost count of who you beat it with, you can check by checking your profile icons (when you beat time attack with someone you get a cartoon icon of them). This shouldn't be hard though it may take a while. If you don't know how to use a character, you can always resort to crouching heavy kicks.

I will execute my mission!
Defeat 3 characters in Survival mode

See the achievement below for more detail.

I'm enough for this job!
Defeat 35 characters in Survival mode

Survival mode has you fighting enemies until you die. The first 35 enemies you fight are always different meaning that you'll have to fight every character in the game (33 regular characters + EX Saiki and Dark Ash). You don't gain all of your health back after each round so be careful. If you don't know who to use, pick Kyo (or NESTS Kyo) and keep using the half circle back + kick move so you'll grab them. Also make sure that you get lots of good sweeps on your opponents. Another easy way is to pick Vice and keep using her "splash" move (forward -> down -> down right + punch).

That should do it!
Complete all trials for 1 character in Trial mode

Trials are objectives where you have to perform specific combos on a dummy. Each character has 10 trials; some are easy, others are almost impossible if you don't have a joystick.

The best character for this achievement is Maxima. His combos are fairly easy to perform, and his longest trial is only two lines long (which is nothing compared to some characters having 5 lines of button inputs). If you're having trouble getting the timings right, it may help to quickly pause the game so you can get yourself settled before performing your next input.

Yes! I'm the best!
Clear 200 trials in Trial mode

There are a total of 360 trials in the game, 10 for each of the 36 playable characters. For this achievement, you only need to complete 200 of them, meaning that you'll have to complete roughly 6 per character. As stated before, your best option is to use either a controller or a joystick (preferably the latter) and master each timing. If you are having trouble with a certain trial, perform individual parts of it before attempting the entire sequence. Pausing may help with your timings, since you'll be able to get your hands back in position.

Check out VesperArcade's tutorials for each trial, which contains specific instructions on certain trials in the descriptions.
Online Achievements
The following achievements are obtained by playing online.

Let's play warrior!
Create 10 rooms

Go online and create a room for either ranked or player matches. As soon as you create one, quit and that will count as one room created. Repeat this 9 more times to get the achievement (you do not need to play any matches for this achievement).

Online Playing Achievements

These achievements are unlocked simply by completing a certain number of matches online:
  • Go easy on me! (1 match)
  • Good! (50 matches)
  • Hehe... hot, wasn't it? (100 matches)
  • I shall not waver! (300 matches)
They can be any amount of player or ranked matches.

It does not matter if you win or lose, so find a friend and start boosting via player matches.

Online Winning Achievements

These achievements are unlocked by winning certain amounts of matches online.
  • Yeah! (1 win)
  • This was just a greeting! (5 wins)
  • Doesn't it feel good? (25 wins)
  • Isn't this fun, eh? (50 wins)
  • Excellent! (100 wins)
They can be any amount of player or ranked matches.

The easiest way to do this is to find a friend and take turns deciding who wins in the end (since the online isn't that active).

Ranked Winning Streak Achievements

These achievements are unlocked by winning a certain amount of times in a row in ranked matches (not player matches):
  • Okay! (2 ranked wins in a row)
  • Number 1! (5 ranked wins in a row)
  • Yeah! I did it! (10 ranked wins in a row)
As stated before, online is not that active so getting these achievements may be a bit difficult since you can't just invite your friends into ranked matches. One way you can get wins is by creating a ranked lobby, then immediately telling your friend to search for a game so that they could possibly join you. From there, you just choose who should win the match. Other than that, it's all about being the better player, so choose characters you're good with and start training (I recommend Terry for beginners).
Other Game Mode Achievements
These achievements are for the other modes in the game not already mentioned.

You're not so bad!
Complete the tutorial

As soon as you start the game, you'll be able to access the tutorial mode. To get this achievement, simply complete the "base" and "gauge" tutorials. Rose will guide you on what you need to do, so you should have little trouble with this achievement.

Let's see what you've got...
Clear STORY.

For this achievement, you just need to complete story mode with any team. It'll be a few fights followed by Saiki and Dark Ash so it shouldn't be that hard. If you have trouble beating Saiki and Dark Ash, keep using Kyo's "Kototsuki You" move (where he runs and grabs them), as well as well-timed crouching heavy kicks.

Alternatively, if you pick the options "The Aircraft Carrier Trautman" and "Outside the Stadium," you won't have to fight Saiki and Dark Ash.

Do you understand now?
Complete STORY.

To complete story, you need to view all of the cutscenes. You can keep track of your cutscenes by looking at the percent completed on the chapter menu. Viewing each cutscene requires you to take different paths on each story playthrough. You can start each playthrough again quickly by picking scene 5, so that you can make your first choice after the cutscene. Here are the paths used to unlock each cutscene. You must complete each playthrough through the end in order to unlock each cutscene per path.

Path 1
Pick "The KOF Teams" and "Inside the Stadium"

This path is about the overall plot, mainly involving the plans of Those From the Past.

Path 2
Pick "The Giant Airship Sky Noah" and "Inside the Stadium"

This path features cutscenes involving Adelheid and Rose Bernstein.

Path 3
Pick "The Aircraft Carrier Trautman" and "Inside the Stadium"

This path deals with Heidern's agents as they try to uncover what's happening at the tournament.

Path 4
Pick "The Aircraft Carrier Trautman" and "Outside the Stadium"

This path leads to the "bad ending," where Saiki resets time to start the story over again.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

If you play through all of these four paths, you will unlock every cutscene.

However, there are a few that can only be seen through specific requirements. They are as follows:
  • Scene 9: During Scene 5, pick "KOF teams" and pick either Ikari, K', or Elizabeth team. During scene 8, select "Inside the Stadium."
  • Scene 10: Same as above, except pick either Japan team or Yagami team.
  • Scene 11: Same as above, except pick any of the teams not already mentioned.
  • Scene 30: Once you have every scene except for #30, watch scene #29 again and you'll get scene #30 when you're done watching it.
  • Scene 32: Simply lose to either Saiki or Dark Ash.

It's about time to start!
Register an icon, team and message in Customize

On the main menu, select customize and select the profile option. Choose any random icon and message, then make your custom team any 3 characters you want.

Here I come, buddy!
Create 10 characters in Customize

In the customize mode, select the character option. Pick a character, change at least one of their colors, then select accept. Repeat this with 9 more characters. The color changes must be for different characters; it won't count if you keep editing the same character.

For that "Yeeeeaaah!" Achievement, here's what I did:

1) Get two controllers.
2) On your side, select your best fighters.
I chose Terry, Kyo, and Kim.

3) What's an EX Super Special Move (try saying that five times fast)?
Well, it's a character's second most powerful signature move.
For example, Terry has his Buster Wolf AND his Power Gyzer.
Instead of going d, db, b, b, db, d, df, f + LP.
Do what I just said, except use both punches.
Now here's the kicker, when the screen goes black, and your
character turns red, congrats, you accomplished it.

4) Repeat #2, and make sure both settings are at 5 (the max bar and gauge option).

5) We are all set, so now, here's some EX Super Special Moves for our characters:
Kim: QCB, HCF + LK and HK.
Kyo: QCT, HCF + LP and HP.
Terry: QCB, HCF + LP and HP (EX Power Gyzer)
QCF, QCF + LK and HK (EX Buster Wolf)

6) You're welcome.
