MW2: Mouse Jerking/Jumping Fix

This guide will help you fix the dreadful mouse jerking/jumping that occurs when turning too much or to fast at a time.

If you have tried changing the settings IN GAME and your still getting the mouse jerking then you are in the right place!

The video below involves MW3 but the same issue occurs in MW2. It shows what happens when you are turning.

Download your proper mouse drivers
The section title pretty much sais it all, look at the side of the box that your mouse came in and google the drivers name. Such as: logitech g500 drivers

Final Step!
Go in to your mouse pointer settings (it will look different compared to mine) and change your
Report Rate
 to
125!


After that launch up MW2 and tweak the sensitivity a little bit and you will no longer have the mouse jerking problem!!!

to follow up from years ago, these comments are being reasonable, in different old games, especially emualted mousehooks, ive had different behaviour at different polling rates with different motherboards. even soe oddities like my dpi cut in half at 250 hz or beeeping oise at high polling rates on a certain board.

when it doubt and your mouse is being weird, change the polling rate

I use a Komoz mouse, I don't think there are any mouse driver settings.

A late heads up for anyone with this issue. If you have the Oculus vr software running in the background, it can also cause this. I fixed my jumpy mouse by simply turning it off.

ive never had this issue but my polling rate is 1khz unlike regular usb 2/3 being 62.5/125

@Brother Selarroc It's a bug with MW 2 & 3's engine. Changing the reporting rate ever so slightly for some reason fixes this issue. I don't know what causes it, all I know is that this fixes it.
