It was the first time I met a woodelf since my arrival in Morrowind. He was kind and asked if I had seen his ring, but he seemed absent when we talked. He stared into the distance for a while and didn't say a word. When I looked into his eyes, I could see despair, loneliness and frustration. He was almost on the verge of tears. I wondered. What could he be thinking of? Is it his ring? What value could a simple ring have? Is the ring the most precious thing Fargoth ever possessed? I thought that I will never know. But when I left, I saw him shed a tear.
I asked him what it was that made him cry so suddenly. When he replied, it took my breath away. His words were few but the meaning was tremendous. Simple, yet heartbreaking.
"Do you know... tfw no ring?"
