A complete guide about Golden Weapons

This guide will teach you everything you need to know about golden weapons.

What is a golden weapon?

Golden weapons are a special type of weapon wich function like their non-golden counterparts,
but have slight stat bonuses,
and can be stored as your starting weapon
To do so you will need to exit the current level with said golden weapon and it will then be saved

There are a lot of variations, and i will divide them in 3 groups
-Tier 1 Golden Weapons
-Tier 2 Golden Weapons
-Special Golden Weapons

Tier 1 Golden Weapons

Tier 1 Golden Weapons are the first ones you will find,
They first start appearing on 1_1 L1 or in Golden Weapon Chests in Y.V's Mansion

Tier 1 Golden Weapons (with their respective stat bonuses in brackets) include:

-Golden Machinegun (Slightly better accuracy)

-Golden Shotgun (One more pellet per shot)

-Golden Crossbow (Has a faster rate of fire)

-Golden Laser Pistol (Better accuracy and rate of fire)

-Golden Grenade Launcher (Grenades travel faster and further)

-Golden Wrench (Has a faster rate of fire)

This next part will show you how to get Golden Weapons via Y.V's Mansion

Take any kind of screwdriver to 3_1 and hit a gold-plated red car with it,
this will grant you access to Y.V's Mansion,
you will find a golden weapons chest and special enemies in here
doing this will also unlock Y.V

Tier 2 Golden Weapons

Tier 2 Golden Weapons first appear on 1_3 L1

Tier 2 Golden Weapons (with their respective stat bonuses in brackets) include:

-Golden Assault Rifle (Increased rate of fire)

-Golden Slugger (Increased rate of fire)

-Golden Splinter Gun (Shoots 1 more bolt)

-Golden Plasma Gun (Better accuracy and faster projectiles)

-Golden Bazooka (Increased rate of fire)

-Golden Screwdriver (Increased rate of fire)

Special Golden Weapons

These Golden Weapons are gathered in special ways

-Golden Revolver
has a faster fire rate then the regular revolver,
this weapon is available as Y.V's standard starting weapon

-Golden Disc Gun
Discs travel faster then normal,
this weapon first appears on 7_3 in Hardmode

-Golden Nuke Launcher
Faster fire rate
This weapon first appears on 7_3 in Hardmode

-Golden Frog Pistol
This weapon is a true wildcard

Shoots 3 venom projectiles (each do 2 damage) at the cost of 2 bullet ammo
Using this will turn you into the Frog character regardless of the character it is saved on

This weapon is obtainable by shooting the Mom boss in 2_1 L1 with any golden weapon and keeping it till she dies, she will drop a frog pistol
put said frog pistol into a Proto chest and pick it up after for it to become a Golden Frog Pistol

btw if you are using the openbeta_win64, when going to YV's mansion, you will always receive a golden screwdriver. i don't know why it do that, but if you want new golden weapons for characters without relying on luck to get a screwdriver in the desert or sewers, use the openbeta_win64

You can only have one golden weapon for each character (excluding the starting weapon), if you save a new golden weapon it'll override the previous one that was saved

YV's car appears on loop 0 (so basically the first time you enter the scrapyard), and on every loop after that as well.

Ah alright, but how do you teleport to Y.V's mansion without a golden car? Shouldn't it be since 2-1 loop one? Sorry if i am wrong. Also, why are you still active on a 4 year old post? Thanks for the response.

1-1 and 1-3 on loop 1 and after, so you first need to defeat the throne and loop back to the desert

same also how the frick do you get golden weapons before 3-1? this dude says they appear on 1-1 for tier one and 1-3 for level 2..
