The SKIES Starter Guide
Welcome to The SKIES, if you haven't played The SKIES before then the more you should read this guide. I will continue to update this guide, as I play along. There isn't much guides around in the Wikia or the web.

I'm more towards supportive role when playing survivial games. Hence I've started out with high Intelligence. A high intelligence is crucial in the beginning as it allows you to have additional 45 minor points everytime you level up. Therefore it's fairly easy to use for starting players.

As of now Safe Zone (Green Zone) will not decrease or any loss of items in your inventory if you are being killed by the monsters, or any players. Once you are Flags Zone (Red Zone), you will lose experience, as well as item durability. There may be chances that the killer will be marked as well, so as to encourage other players to hunt them down. Players of Level 5 and below will not lose any experience as well as item durability. So it's best to complete the daily quest 'Capture' mission everyday.

Rise and Shine
Everyone will start off with your character waking up from their bed, living in your relative house in the suburbs of Kimary.



As soon as you get up, grab the Bump infront of you as well as the clothes in the wardrobe to the right. You will begin with 18 Major points and 9 Minor points. Add all the Major points to the Intelligence, making it 20. This will result you to have 45 Minor points every time you level up. This is beneficial for those who wants to be a support role, being the merchant and the craftsmen. Add all the minor points to Travelling, till 60 points. Lots of needed items from looting and mining requires Travelling of 40-60 points, that includes Gas which maybe needed for crafting of the vehicles.

*Update: After the Server Inventory Wipe on 17 June 2016, you are only allowed to place a maximum of 10+(CurrentLevel), for the Major points. So you can only place 10 Major points to Intelligence as of now. Minor points will require Major points to be added, in order to add beyond the limited points per level.

(CurrentMajorPoints)*5 = (MaximumMinorPoints)

E.g. 2 Major points will mean a maximum of 10 Minor points to per any of the secondary attributes in the same tree. Some of the attributes has been shifted over to other Major points tree. Theft and Traps have been switched to Luck and Intelligence tree respectively. Major points will no longer add minor points as well, meaning now they are on a separate point allocation.




For those who wish to go for a sneaky melee build, you start off with 11 Theft. There will be two safebox in the Tutorial map, [AE,18] and [BE,18]. Both the safebox requires a minimum of 11 Theft. You will get into a picklocking interface, similar to the Skyrim's picklocking. You will have to line up all the pins, as you use the plug to block them up. If you fail, you can try again. However the combination will be random all the time, so you can have frequency where the pins moves faster. *Note: Needs more clarification on the Theft points, whether do they slow down the pin speed, for better success rate.



After that proceed to the next room, get the Repair Kit along the shelves. Get the quest from Aunt Vivian to gather 5 Desert Berries to make into Pie. Do gather the Grain as well, as you will need them once you leave for Kimary. Now head over to the small shack to the right, there will be another Repair Kit and a Big Box. Grab the kit and the resources inside, as well as the Wooden Planks needed for your next quest.



Next head over to the green container behind and climb up the ladder, you will see one Stick. That's for those who wish to go for the melee build. Note that you need to have 5 minor points added to Cold Weapons, or alternatively 5 major points to Strength, in order to wield the Stick.

After that you can help out with Uncle Adam for fixing his fence. There's no need to use your Bump/Saw-off Gun to kill the dogs, just use melee will do. Do not waste the Stones. Once done you be asked to check on the Pie, and off to Kimary.

Before you do so, make sure all 3 big boxes around the house has been opened. 2 big boxes outside the house. Move to the ruins at [AO,21], there's also some coins available. The blueprint for this box has been removed. There's also a Coal Mine nearby, grab them if you have the (20) Travelling points. The valuable resources before you leave here should be, Coals, Zinc, Sulphur, Aluminium, Chrome, Tunnel Mushrooms, Repair Kits. Gather as much Stones as possible around this area first before proceeding to Kimary, at least 120 Stones for those going for ranged. Make sure you have 5 Tunnel Mushrooms, 10 Chicken Legs, 10 Meats, 10 Gaggle Eggs.

You can try to logout and login again, to get the items. But that's not neccessary, unless for the Repair Kit.

Kimary Part 1
Missing Caravan
Once you reached Kimary, you will see an injured Caravan traveller, talk to him. Proceed to Kimary town, and find Administrator to complete the quest. Then go over to the Kimary Mayor building to find Isaac Dang [BB,21]. Drop off all the resources into the Warehouse.



Punisher
This is for those who went for the Strength build, you need 5 Strength in order to activate this quest. Upon arriving to the town you will see Post Guard, standing near the Mayor building. He will need you to punish some of the Raiders outside with a Machete. Machete will require you to have 15 Cold Weapon points. After killing, return to the Post Guard for 300 coins.

Smell of Gunpowder
Find Guard Patrick [BA,22] on the West Entrance. Buy the Broken Gun (Optional). Head over to the East Entrance, just before the exit turn right and you will find Magnus [BC,23]. Get the quest. Head outside the town to a bandit hideout. There should be 5 raiders, 3 melee and 2 ranged. Kill them to get some 5 Gunpowder and 1 Broken Gun. Head back to Magnus to complete the quest, and you will get the Hello shotgun.



Ragamuffin
Meanwhile at the same time drop by Borias [BC,23], down the same street as Magnus. Help him to craft the leather jacket, leather pants and boots. He will give you the ingredients needed to craft, you just need the time required to craft finish them. Total required time is 16 minutes (Initially 1 hour 15 minutes). So start this quest as early as possible. After that return to Borias, and the armour is yours.

Hard Leather
After crafting the leather armours, he will require you to get some 3 Old Armour [AH,25] from the bandits. You will get 350 coins.

New Recipe
Inga [BB,22] usually have random ingredients needed to complete her quest. Ranging from 3 Water, 5 Tunnel Mushrooms, 10 Chicken Legs, 10 Meats. Since the items you have gathered them in the Tutorial, this should be easy. For the Tunnel Mushrooms, you will have to go to the Sewers to retrieve them, and you will encounter Trenchers. They are pretty hard to kill, unless you are a melee build. This quest is repeatable, advisable to do them till Level 4. That should add you to 5 Technology points.

Strange Thing
Guard Patricks is an addict and needs some drugs. Head over to the second floor of the hospital, and you can find a few locked safes. If you have Theft skill added, you will find some drugs on the second and third safes, return to Patrick for 300 coins reward. Alternatively the drug will cost 831 coins to buy.



Parcel
Head over to the Gentlemen's Club Amensia to find Bartender Alex [BC,21], he will ask you to retrieve a parcel. Go over to the house [BB,23] for the parcel. After that bribe the strangers for 150 coins. Go back to the Mayor and send the parcel. Return back to Bartender Alex.

Alternatively if you choose not to bribe, you will lose the parcel. Alex will tell you to by hook or by crook, to get back the parcel. You can either return back to the house and kill off all the strangers, or buy the parcel from the NPC. You will still get back 200 coins from Mayor as reward, but without 150 coins.



Provisioner
After that Alex will have another job for you to retrieve the box of alcohol from the Ringleader [AP,27]. The Ringleader will offer a price of 250 coins, and you can bring back to Alex. Alex will then reward you with 1200 coins.

Evidence of Guilt
Isaac Dang is suspicious of Bartender Alex. He wants you to check out his bar for any evidence. Go over to the second floor of the bar, there will be a room opposite of where Rick is sitting. Enter the room and search around the books and papers. You should find either the Rick's Report or Invoice. There is also a locked safe in the room with alarm. Return to Mayor about your findings.

Safe Cleaning
After Isaac know about his findings, he wants you to crack open the locked safe in the room. You can either cooperate with Alex or use your theft skill to crack open the locked safe. You are not allowed to die in this mission, if not considered failed.

Unneccessary Knowledge
Isaac feels there's a spy working for Alex, and wants you to capture him alive. You will be given the Injection Gun to shoot at the spy and capture him back. After capturing, you be rewarded with 400 coins. The Injection Gun will be gone after you returned. You may want to drop the gun on the floor before completing.

The Death of the Killer
Isaac hires a mercenary to kill Bartender Alex. After that wants the mercenary to be died as well, so as not to leave any tracks. Head over to the Abandoned Factory [BB,16] where both the mercenary and Alex have a fight, after that finish the mercenary off. I suppose the animation for Alex should be dead, because my screen still shows him standing alive. After that exit the building and return to Isaac.



Medical Kit
Dr. Hans Lecktor [BC,22] needs you to retrieve the medical kit from a boy, Louie [BA,20] at the fabric factory. Louie will refuse to return the instrument. You will have to consult his mother, Anna [BC,23] and ask Rick [BC,21] not to disturb Anna anymore for 800 coins. If not you will have to send Anna to the brothel. The building for Rick, seems bugged, you will be able to go up but unable to get down. You will have to jump off from the balcony. After that return to Anna, and assure her that no one is taking her house. She will promise you with the Medical Kit and 250 coins. Return the kit back to Dr. Hans, you get 200 coins as reward.



Barrier
Dr. Hans Lecktor is up to some personal matters this time. You have to speak to Anna. However Anna doesn't know what was it about, you will have to find Louie personally.

Bitter Truth
Louie wants you to check up on Dr. Hans's fridge where he stores the organs for trafficking. Enter the Cold Storage above the hospital. You should see an organ order on the table, grab the papers and return to Louie. He will ask you to show it to Anna. Anna was happy after seeing the documents, and you received 200 coins as reward.

Love Potions - *Localisation Issue
Dr. Hans needs you to find some ingredients for his love potions. You will need 2 Desert Amantia [BE,24], 1 Clay [AN,13], 1 Desert Flowers [BK,14]. The Desert Amantia will register as Desert Mushroom, or Desert Toadstool. Once collected all the items, find Inga to make the pie for Anna. Look for Anna to give her the pie. After that Anna will feel dizzy, and asking for help from Dr. Hans. Return to Dr. Hans for reward, 300 coins.



Flower in the Dark
Dr. Hans wants to cure for his misdiagnosis by looking for a plant, called Giralus [BJ,9]. There will be 2 Insomanic Bears around the plants, take very sneaky steps when approaching them. It's impossible to kill them at this stage. So make it fast and extract out. Return to the doctor, reward 300 coins.

Strange Disappearings
Anna wants you to look for suspicious things in the factory. After that return to Anna for 50 coins.

Reveal
Anna wants you to look around the cave for his son whereabouts. You see the Manager trying to make a sacrificial ritual for Louie. You can either kill the Manager, or bribe him for a sum. Either way the result is the same, Anna is only concern about his son.
Kimary Part 2
Eggs
Geliukh [BN,30] needs 10 Gaggle Eggs. Remember the Gaggle Eggs I asked you to collect during the Tutorial? Now you can use them.



Desert Drug Lab
Guard Zack [BB,22] needs you to check out Desert Drug Lab [AN,38]. You will need to place 3 land mines in the lab. The lab is heavily guarded with Raiders and 2 Porky, so get a party if you need to. There's also a handful of boxes for you to loot. Interestingly after you exit the lab, you will be teleported back to town. You will be rewarded with 1500 coins and a light pistol, Argument.



Armed and Dangerous
Magnus requires some materials to craft a module for you. He will need 5 Metals, 1 Panel, 1 Part, 1 Machinery. The items may vary depending on what module you choose for. Return to him and he will make the module for you.

Blown Up
Magnus has been disturbed by some bandits. He feels it has something do with Rick. He wants you to check it out at [BJ,21].

Price of Escape
Maria [BB,23] has lost a bag of coins to the kids, and wants you to get back her bag of coins. The bag of coins will be at [AU,28]. There will lots of Scarabs and Dogs around the bag, the bag will be below a tree. Return the pink flower bag to Maria, sadly she only rewards you for 50 coins.

Let There be Light
Yunasson [BC,26] needs you to find a radioactive element using the Geiger Tube. The Rad-element can be found at [BF,16] and [AJ,31]. It's a glowing green tube. Return to vet for 500 coins.

Farm for Earner
Getter [BG,16] needs some materials. He needs 10 Nickel and 10 Zinc, or 10 Cottons and 10 Copper. This is a repeatable quest, giving you 500 coins. You no need to bring the items over to him, just collect and store them in your warehouse will do.

Glitch
Chartographer [BG,15] needs you to find the 5 beacons around the area and activate them. The beacons will be guarded with 5 Scarabs, kill and activate it.

Explosive Passion
The Chieftain [AP,27] wants you to plant a mine at the scout's road [BE,22]. Run back to town and plant the mine. After that stay away from the landmine, you will see a cinematic footage of the convoy being blasted. Return to Chieftain, and he rewards you with 4 Landmines.

Bone Victory
Guard Martias [BD,21] wants to challenge to kill the Trenchers in the Sewers. You will need to collect 4 Trencher Bones and run through the Sewers.

Run Lola - Broken Quest
Alex's ladies escaped, and one of them is missing in Sukhovo [AY,16]. He wants you to take the injection gun, put her to sleep and bring her back. Somehow he doesn't accept her, after bringing her back.



Experimental Fugitive (User contribution: AllOuT)

Lighthouse


Formally known as Crater, now known as Lighthouse with all-around PvP for experienced wanderers to get dirty with. Most experienced ones should check the once-per-day dungeon in Lighthouse, where fierce Scarab Queen lies in wait to be raided.

Vehicles will require from 50,000 to 5,000,000 coins to be purchased. Cars could be purchased from Kurt. Purchased cars can be stored in garage, via the Car Valet and repaired there. Vehicles will require Gasoline to function.

Currently there are four types of vehicles, Buggy, Motorbike, Pig, Pickup. All vehicles will have 1 seat capacity, except Pickup of 3 seat capacity. However Pickup uses the most fuel consumption per 100km trip compared to the other 3 vehicles. While Buggy has the highest maximum speed of 70kmph.

in the mine in crater, i found two interesting things. There are things behind some of the caved in walls, one of them is 3 "rare stone" nodes, and the other an interesting "Joe's Casket." I managed to glitch outside the wall and see these, rare stone just looks like normal stone, and joes casket is just a small rock. I couldn't get back into the map to harvest these, but i'm very interested. Maybe someone else can try to find out what is inside joe's casket or the rare stone. I got out of the map by walking up to the caved-in rock covering the rare stone with my fists, then switched to a pistol while walking and crouching rapidly and got through.
