Your First Day/Night
First Day
Go exploring, find as many chests as you can before night falls. Right before night falls, collect lots and lots of wood (about 200) and build a small house, to hold you and the guide for the night. Unlike normal terraria, the guide is actually really useful in modded terraria, since you probably don't know any craftig recipes for any modded items AT ALL, so try to keep him alive.
First Night
Begin mining a hellevator or a really big mine, and hopefully, by the time your mine is near complete, you should have found some ore called Thorium. After you have collected roughly 70-80 Thorium ore, return to the surface and make a thorium anvil with your current anvil and 10(ish) thorium ore. Turn the rest of the thorium into bars, and make a Thorium revolver. Use any lead/iron to make Buckshot for your gun.
Your Second Day/Night
Second Day
Once again, go exploring, but this time to the desert biome. Collect as many antlion mandibles as you possibly can, and try to locate a demon altar/the corruption while you're at it, since you'll need it rather soon.
Second Night
Collect as many fallen stars as you can, and also try to collect as many herbs as you can (assuming you didn't find a lot of herb bags) and return to your home. Create TONS of Arcane Dust (about 60-70 should do the trick for farming purposes, you only really need about 20) and return to the mines for the rest of the night. Work on collecting about 500 Iron/lead ore (this sounds impossible, but iron is everywhere in veins of about 20-30 each time), and make full iron/lead armor, and hold on to the other bars.
Third Day
Third Day
Now, it's time to fight your first boss; the Grand Thunder Bird. Take your Antlion Mandibles, Iron Bars, and Arcane Dust to the Demon Altar you located earlier, and craft a Grand Flare Gun and as many Storm Flares as you can. Return to your home, find a long, flat surface (a row of platforms will do nicely) and use the flare gun. Use the thorium revovler you made earlier to shoot him down relatively quickly (the fight should fast about a minute and a half if all your shots from the thorium revolver hit and you don't die), and use the sandstone ingots he drops to create the sandstone armor (only after 2-3 kills will you have enough). After this, just make full Thorium armor after collecting more Thorium, and you're set for the rest of pre-hardmode!
Thanks!
Thanks for reading this, it means a lot. Drop a comment below on what I should add to this guide on the Thorium mod and if I should make a Thorium guide for first few Hardmode days!

@BoyMayo Check the publish date and other comment dates. The modloader didn't have its own guide section until not too long ago.

You do know that the mod loader has a guide section that you can put this on, right?

@Autistic Koala , the best I can suggest for hardmode right now is:
Melee - Get Green Dragon Scales/Unfathomable Flesh. These two are crucial and are so overpowered against the vanilla game that they just outshine everything up through Plantera.
Ranger - Same as Melee.
Mage - Same as Melee, except also kill the Boran Strider for its bow. I'm not kidding, that stuff is op.
Summoner - Standard spider set. Nothing special.
Bard - After killing even one mechanical boss, you absolutely NEED to make a Hallowed Megaphone and Cyberpunk armor. That combination is so broken.....

That's all I can help with at the immediate moment. I'm sorry I can't be of any more assistance at the second, I'm rushed for time as we speak.

My only suggestion is to turn all your settings down and, most importantly, turn the background off. That background will absolutely murder your graphics if you leave it on. Also, try turning the resolution to 800x600 fullscreen. That oughta fix a lot of lag issues as well.

Thanks for the comments, @Cookie ARS. I'll do my best to make a quick Hardmode Thorium guide to get you started, my dude, but it's gonna have to wait. All I can suggest is, after you beat the WOF, immediately begin collecting Green Dragon Scales and make some Dragon stuff. It's really good for when you get it, and it should let you wreck Coznix, the Fallen Beholder in about two minutes. Use the Valadium that will generate (you need to kill Coznix a few times, and water walking potions help) to create Valadium armor, then use the infinite Gravity potion buff to kick the Twins into oblivion, since they are weak to that gravity switching mania. Just be careful not to lose your aim when you swap gravity.

Hope this helps!
