For the purposes of this guide the 'past' will be shiny 1962.
And the 'future' will be ruined 2012

You can use double click to make Charles Bronson Run.

The time traveling device is solar powered and is a key mechanic for switching between worlds.
You can use it for getting around obstacles such as a rusted shut gate.
So look for rays of light or the bright outside to be able to switch.

Replaying a Chapter
Once you've beaten a chapter you can restart it anytime.
However, any in-progress in a chapter will be reset to the beginning.
So I suggest waiting until the beggining of a new chapter to go back and get an achievement.

Saves
All saves are automatic, you continue from the exact spot you were in when you left.

Chapter 1 - The Past

Look at the note to discover that the boss - Mr Hill - wants a word with you. Open the orange door and head inside.
Pick up the light bulb on the shelf, and then use it on the broken light bulb hanging above the table. Click on the new bulb to illuminate the room.

Pick up the blue key card from the table and the green rubber glove from the shelf. Exit the room.
Use the blue key card on the card reader next to the door. Head inside.

Talk to the secretary, then open the big red doors to see Mr Hill. Talk to him, and he'll hand you a red key card. [Working for the Man]
This card will bump you up a security clearance level.
Click on the control panel to open the elevator door. Exit into the sub-basement labs.
Use the rubber glove to fix the broken access panel. Go through the now-unlocked door.

Look at the lab coat to get a handkerchief. Use it on the blood splatter beneath the big circular doors to collect a sample.
Try to use the comuter here for [Data Error]
Head all the way back upstairs, and talk to the secretary. She'll give you a band-aid.

Go all the way back, and use the plaster on the left door button to stick it down. Press the right button to open the door.

Talk to the injured man to finish the chapter.
Chapter 2 - The Future

Click on the device to put it into your inventory. Then, use the device to make your first jump through time.
Open the door and exit the room.
Walk upstairs and look at the hanging man to reveal a key on his belt. Take it. Also, pick up the hammer on the floor to the right of this screen. Go downstairs.
Use the key on the evidence room door. Search the corpse to get an ID card. Go back upstairs to get to the first floor.

Use the card to open the red door, near the hanging man.
Inside, take the note from the bulletin board.
Click on all 6 pictures and exhaust all dialouge for '[Subject Zero]'

Open the desk drawer, and then take the gun oil out. Go back outside, and climb the stairs to the second floor.
Click on the picture of Lincoln to reveal a safe. Use the code on the safe to open it up, and get a paper clip. Go downstairs - twice - and enter the evidence room.
Use the gun oil on the padlock, and then use the paper clip on the padlock to open it. Crack open the door and grab the sword. Head back up to the second floor.

Cut the rope. [Gordian Knot] Before you head in the door, go back downstairs to the ground floor and retrieve the rope from the corpse.
Now, go back up and go through the door you just unlocked.
Smash the glass with the hammer. Climb onto the tree.
Use the rope on the tree branch and climb down.
Chapter 3 - The Machine

Walk to the right and enter the sunlight. This will charge your solar-powered time-travelling gizmo.
Jump to the past, and retrieve the screwdriver from the motorcycle tool belt. Use the screwdriver on the backlot door to the left of this scene, and exit the area.
Grab the umbrella. Walk up to the police car and jump to the future.
Grab the nightstick from the wrecked cop car. Now, go back to the motorcycle area and jump to the past.

Use your umbrella on the ladder to lower it. Climb up, and climb the ladder to the roof.
Pick up the carpet. Then, go to the future and slip into the hole in the roof.
Tear the wallpaper, and then jump into the past. Open the curtains, and pick up the wallpaper paste. Turn on the lamp and take the key.
Use the key to open the door and exit onto the fire escape.

Climb down the ladder and spill wallpaper paste into the small poison ivy plant. [Contaminator] When you go into the future now, it won't have spiralled up the wall.
Climb the ladder, go into the future, and try to open the door you just revealed. The handle will snap off in your hand.
Go into the other apartment and use the handle on the door. Now, you can open the door, and enter.
Go into the past and watch the TV. [Couch Potato]

Now smash the window with your nightstick, and put the carpet over the broken glass.
Climb through the window to finish the chapter.
Chapter 4 - The Entry

Where There's Smoke (Story Related)

Take out the broom head. Then click to open the trashcan (spam it) several times until he says he's hungry. [Hobo]
Switch to the future, and pick up the meat hook. Walk over to the left and lift the broken plate.
Use the broom head on the dust, and use the meat hook on the man hole cover. Climb down.
Pick up the loose rung and leave.

Switch to the past, turn on the electronic gate, and walk through.
Go to the future now. Use the metal bar on the hazardous waste container to crack it open. Take out the bonesaw. Now, go back to the manhole.
Take note of the light switch's location in the past. Then, jump to the future, and Click that same area in the dark to illuminate the area.
Now, use the bonesaw on the iron bars to cut through.

Pick up the syringe, and walk back to the surface.
Use the syringe on the turpentine to get a container full of flammable liquid. Jump to the future and inspect the dead body to get a lighter.
Right - back down the sewer!
In the future, use the turpentine syringe and then the lighter on the rubble. [Where There's Smoke]

The smoke will get rid of the hornets' nest, letting you walk into the hospital.
Chapter 5 - The Corpse

Go through the door.
In the past, pick up the car battery. Now jump to the future and exit the room.
Pick up the tyre iron, then jump to the past and enter office A.
In the future again now. Drop down the hole.

Pick up the scissors, then jump to the past and cut the toe tag off the corpse.
Use the battery on the body (ugh) [Re-Animator]
Go back to the future, leave the room.
Use the battery with the cables to light up the room and reveal a key. Pick it up. Then, leap to the past.

Open the drawer to get the ambulance key. Now, climb the stairs.
In the office, use the key on the filing cabinet. Then, use the name tag to find the correct address.
Go to the past and enter the garage.

Jump to the future. Use the tyre iron on the tyre to fix the ambulance. [Handyman]
Use the button to open the door. Use the key on the ambulance to go to the next chapter
Chapter 6 - The Island

Open the box and grab the trophy from inside.
Open the back door of the ambulance and take the mechanical jack and enema pump. Ew.
Try to use the enema pump to de-flood the boat. [Wrong Tool]
Open the fuel cap on the back of the van and use the enema pump on the gas tank.

The butt sucker (not my words) will now be filled with delicious petrol.
(so butt is not censored but ene.ma. is ???)

Walk to the right side of the screen to find a boat.
Use the trophy on the boat to bail out the water, and the enema on the motor to refill the tank.
Then get in the boat and head off to the island.
Use the jack on the gate to bend the bars and create a way in. Slip through to the other side.

Grab the shears and use them on the chainlink fence to create a hole. Slip through.
We'll deal with that crocodile in a bit.
Open the camper door and step inside.
Press the light switch to reveal the contents of the tin can van and then nab the key from the rack.
Go back outside.

Use the key on the junction box to open it up.
Press the button to fry the fish and then press it again to make the water safe.
Open the grill on the far right side and then take the tongs.
Use them to grab the fish. Again: ew. Now head back through the hole in the fence.

Feed the clown fish to the crocodile and it will go away. [See You Later...] Video games.
Grab the chainsaw from the right side of this area and then head back through the fence and into the camper.
Use the chainsaw on the moonshine still to fill the tank with alcohol. Good enough.
Head back to the front door of the house and use the chainsaw to bust on through.
Chapter 7 - The House

Open the drawer on the right side of the room and grab the matches from inside.
Head to the room on your left.
Take the corkscrew from the table on the right, and some books from the shelf on the left.
Lob the books in the fireplace and use the match to start a fire. [Fahrenheit 451]

We'll use that later.
Lift up this fetching zebra-skin rug and then use the corkscrew on the trapdoor found underneath. Head down the ladder… if you dare.
Go through the door on the right and you'll end up in this room.

Take the tanning bulb from the shelf and then head all the way back to the very first room in the house. Woosh.
Put the tanning bulb in this lamp.
It will shine bright and, hey presto, recharge your solar-powered time travelling device.

Handy! No need to use it yet, though, so head into the room your left.
Head to the far side of the room and then tap the time machine.
You'll zip forward to the post-apocalyptic future where people keep individual twigs on tables. Take that twig.

Then, go back to the past and head down the trap door.
Once you're at the bottom of the ladder, hit the time machine again and grab the fire extinguisher from the box.
Go back to the past and then into the door on your right.

Jump to the future to find a curious oil drum. Open it, and dip your twig in it.
Now go back to the past and head back to the main room with the fireplace.
In the future, use the water distilation machine to fill your fire extinguisher with water.

In the past, set the oil-soaked twig on fire in the fire place and then walk into the room on the right.

Take the lit torch and try to light the 'curious oil drum' on fire. [Pyromaniac]
Jump to the future and set the vines on fire with your burning twig. Use the fire extinguisher to put out the blaze.

Grab the axe and then jump to the past, head back into the room on the left, and drop down into the basement area.
Use the axe to smash down this middle door and then head inside.

Grab the lava lamp and then jump to the future. Plug it into the empty electrical socket to light up the corner and reveal a bottle.
Read all of the books on the shelf in 2012. [Dear Diary]

Take it, go to the past, and leave this room.
Use the bottle on the left shelf to reveal a secret room. Head inside to finish the chapter.
Chapter 8 - Outside Archon

Go into the future and check the left-most parking meter to get a quarter.
Click 3 times the pile of half-burnt papers in front if the Archon office.
It is between the Nightclub and the front door on the left. [Evidence Tampering]
Go back to the future (cue cinematic sting) and then enter the night club on the left.

Inside, grab a quarter from the table. Talk to the bartender to find out that you need 50 cents.
Jump to the past and nab the orange cable from the right side of the screen.
Go to the past and exit the room.
Jump to the future and use the cable on the far right parking meter.

You can now climb down to the area below. Which turns out to be…
An underground station! Go to the past and then grab a quarter out of the payphone on the right. One more to go.
On the left side of this screen, go to the future and take a quarter from the dead man's hat.

Okay, now we've got a buck and can afford a drink. Head back to the night club.
Give the dollar to the bartender.

[DO NOT HIT THE BUTTON]
You will have to listen to all of his dialouge about him getting missing stuff [Mixology]

When he's distracted, hit the button in the middle of the room to lower the disco ball.
Grab it, and then leave.
Head back to the underground station.
Go inside the car (in the past) and then jump to the future.

Use the disco ball on the beam of light to reveal a screwdriver on the right side of the screen.
In the future, you can now use the screwdriver to remove the vent from the left side of this area.
When it's off, dive on in and turn the red valve.
Then head all the way back to the night club. See you in a minute!

Go to the future. You'll see that the water has completely drained.
Grab a handgun from the corpse.
Probably a bit rusted, but hopefully it'll still work. Now go back to the underground
Shoot the blind veteran busker with the handgun...Just kidding. (Not my words)

Go into the vent, go to the past, and shoot the fan control box. [Marksman]
(oh ♥♥♥♥ youre the one who shot the dr.)
After the short cutscene, go forward and press the other button.
Take the wirecutters from the tool box and return to the underground area.

Cut the wire with your wirecutters and then head inside the train car.
You can now grab the big old wrench. Head back to the vent.
Push the grating in the future, and it will open. That was an easy puzzle. Go on through.
In the past, use the wrench on the hatch to bust it open. Climb down to finish chapter eight.
Chapter 9 - Inside the Archon

Press the button to open the lift door. Puzzle solved. That was a tricky one.
Give yourself a big pat on the back. Walk out the door.
Go the future and walk through the far right door.
Once inside, hop back to the past and go through the big round door.

Pick up the instant camera from the floor. Nice. Go back to the main hallway.
Jump the future and grab the keycard from this dead bloke.
Directly behind this guy is a box of secrets. Click on it. [Host of the Air]
In the past, use the card to unlock the left-most locked door and then head inside.

In this room, use the camera to take a photo of the cyrogenically-frozen man with his eyes open.
Then go into the next room.

Go through the next room and then open the bottom-right drawer.
It will start to fill up with rain water.
Also, grab the apple core from the garbage can and turn the fluorescent light on.
Talk to Frank and then use your photo to activate the retinal scanner.

Once you're inside the room, go into the future and grab the dustpan from the cupboard.
Cool. Now let's head all the way back to the lift at the start of the chapter.

Jump the future and use the dustpan to sweep up some soil from the corner.
Go back to the time machine room (you can't go anywhere else) for the cutscene.
Use the apple core on the computer in the room with a big round door. [Fanboy]
And then go to the room with the filing cabinets.

Use the soil and apple core in the drawer. Jump into the future and grab the apple from the tree.
Go to the past and head into the room on the left.
When the scientist pops out, grab the beaker of acid. Then head back to the time machine room.

After the cutscene, use the acid on the computer and then walk through the door. [Deja Vu]
Follow Lambert's instructions and then touch the time machine to finish the chapter. Job done.
Chapter 10 Mobius Trip

(Fair warining: there is alot of backtracking.)

Your time machine is wrecked, so from here on out we won't be able to jump between timelines.
Which saves me writing "go to the future" over and over again.
Anyway. Go left until you reach a grave with a shovel. Take it, then go back to the right.

Use the shovel to clear the half-buried door and head inside.
Here, take the cloth from inside the first aid kit. Exit, and go right.
Use the cloth with the water to make it damp. Then run all the way left.
Use the damp cloth on the solar array to turn the generator on. Now run all the way right.

Sensing a pattern yet?

Turn on the generator in this room and then take the machete from the man stuck in the wall.
Go back into the room with the first aid kit.
Use the machete on the concrete block to sharpen it.
Now exit the room and go as far left as possible.

Use the machete to clear the roots. Go inside and get the cup.
Run all the way back to the soaking wet room (seriously) and fill the cup with water.
Then return to this room (can you say "artifical lengthening?") .
Then run all the way back to the first room (last time, promise).

Insert the fuse and then use the machine. Woosh.
Take the key from the dead guard and nab the broken frame from the floor.
Use the frame with the fragile wall to bust on through.
After the cutscene, go into the room on the right.

Use the key on the drawer with the yellow sticker and take the book out.
Go back to the main hall and use the book on the console.
Climb inside the cyro chamber. [Sleeper]
Take the paper from the equipment. Pull the string at the end of the room to open the door.

Exit into the hallway.
Open and enter door three.
Try to fix the crooked painting [Butterfingers]
Look at the arm chair to get a TV remote. Go back into the hall and open and enter door two.

Use the TV remote to turn off the telly and then grab the crutch. Return to your room.
Knock the pens down with your crutch and plop one in your pocket. Go back to room three.
Give the pen and paper to this chap. He'll jot a number on the paper.
Use it on the keypad on door one to finish the chapter, and the game.

Congrats! That was fun, wasn't it. Bye! [21st Century Man]
Analysis (spoilers)
So it turns out you are the one that accidentally cause everything.
You got sick in the far future and brought it back.
You shot the doctor by accident when shooting the fan.

I believe this would be known as a Predestination paradox

Predestination paradox A man travels back in time to discover the cause of a famous fire. While in the building where the fire started, he accidentally knocks over a kerosene lantern and causes a fire, the same fire that would inspire him, years later, to travel back in time. The bootstrap paradox is closely tied to this, in which, as a result of time travel, information or objects appear to have no beginning.

I missed "Suspect Zero". Once I finished the game I came back to Chapter 2 and quick run to the photos. I clicked them several times, at least two full loops but got no achievement. Is there a bug or I can't redo the chapter to get missed achievement? That's the only one I don't have.. Thx in adv for any clue.

i cant get the mixology achievement help?? ive clicked on the bartender and the guy says he cant keep hanging around anymore
Just to point out, Hobo in Chapter 4 is a missable, the achievement list got it mistaken tho

While stopping the Predestination paradox is a good way out of the End of the World plot. I feel that have more questions, if the route you listed was one out come then how did the bad future happen? and how would the events work out properly? Also "Avian Flu", does that cause bone deformation? I get the feeling that the pay off at the end was "weak", with how I realised that we where doomed from the start, only to go "Oh hay, lets use Macuffin and save day!".
