Introduction
The Loki's Trickster achievement is Rogue specific, and can be unlocked at the same time as the Ultimate Rogue achievement by following the official Rogue walkthrough to a tee, except that you must avoid or flee from all random encounters. (You can get a vial of troll's blood without fighting by visiting the dead troll at Odinn's Shrine in Svartalfheim.)

If you're like me, however, and you didn't look into this until after you already unlocked Ultimate Rogue, and you don't want to repeat that entire process, this guide is for you.

My assumption is that you already know how to do everything in the game as a rogue, so you won't find step by step instructions here. And if you don't, well, just go after the Ultimate Rogue achievement first and get this one at the same time (see paragraph 1).

This achievement is about succeeding with your wits and cunning without resorting to violence. Violence here really just seems to mean killing things.

You do not need to complete the game to get this achievement. It will pop up after you defeat Thrivaldi in Chapter 4.

Minimum Requirements
This secton outlines what I have determined to be the minimum requirements to get the Loki's Trickster achievement.

I have tested everything myself, except for those points that are marked with an asterisk (*), but since those points result in fighting and winning a battle if you don't do them the rogue-ish way, I feel it's reasonable to assume they are indeed a requirement.

Just be aware that it may be possible to negate your chances of getting this achievement if you do anything not listed in a non-rogue-ish way. For example, throwing a dagger at Eitri to get him to let you go (though doing so at Fremont didn't). But I haven't tested this, and it's just safer and easier to solve what you have to the way the official walkthrough tells you to.

Random Encounters
Flee or avoid all random encounters. As long as you don't kill anything, you'll be safe.

Rescuing Heime*
When rescuing Heime, get caught in Skrymir's house then convince him you don't need to be guarded. (Do not fight him.)

The Haugbui
Discover the haugbui's grave via Aurvandel's telescope, then complete the quest during the day. You must scatter the haugbui's ashes, but you don't need to report it back to Aurvandel. (To use Aurvandel's telescope, you must first give him the mugwort herb, and to get the mugwort herb, you must first ask Liff about it.)

Skrymir's Three Challenges
Win each of Skrymir's Challenges. (You need mead or a power potion, and a frost flower to do this.) The third challenge is the only battle you're allowed to fight in and win. I guess the reasoning is because it's Skrymir who puts a stop to the fight, and you don't actually kill the apparition.

Battle of Munarvagir*
Escape from Munarvagir, and get help from Fornsigtuna. (Don't fight the battle yourself.)

Thrivaldi
Keep talking to him until the sun comes out. If you did everything correctly, a new dialogue sequence with Loki will play out immediately after, and the achievement will pop up.
Common Misconceptions
Random Encounters
It's not necessary to completely avoid getting into an encounter, and even doing damage during a fight is fine, as long as you flee the battle without killing anything.

Escaping from Eitri
Whether you get out of Eitri's house by examining his items or threatening to kill him makes no difference. Presumably, the threat of violence is not the same as actually resorting to violence. Note: I haven't tested what happens if you throw a dagger at Eitri instead.

Fremont
How you deal with Fremont (paying him to pass, going the long way around, or scaring him off by throwing a dagger at him) doesn't matter.

Hreithmar's Chest
It seems you do not need to do this quest at all to get this achievement. If you do, however, you can either choose to give the chest back to Fafnir, or say no and immediately flee from battle, throwing the chest off the cliff to get him to jump to his own death. As long as you don't kill Fafnir yourself, you're fine.

Fenrir & Egther
Since the achievement unlocks before you get to either of these guys, neither of these encounters matter.

If you have Animal Ken as as Cross-Class skill, killing the Boar at the start of the game does *NOT* disqualify you for the achievement. In fact, I used Animal Ken to get the Fox, get my stuff from Thrivaldi *AND* used the animal tracks to escape the blizzard. So none of that had any effect on the acheivement.

I'd also didn't free Kraka or steal *everything* on the loot list. So break-ins have nothing to do with this achievement either. Apparently you can be an "honest" thief and still get the achievement. If fact you can earn the Eyes completely legitamately and it will still give you the achiement. I solved Snorri's archery legitamatly (i still got the missile bracelet, but I stashed it and didn't use it.)

Fighting the Fates' optional boss guantlet *DOES* disqualify you for the achievement.
