Make sure you have your Xbox One Remote is properly installed.
To check this, open device manager by searching for it:

Then, within Device Manager, scroll down to Xbox Peripherals:

Open this category up, and right-click on your remote, then click on "Update Driver Software":

When it asks you where you want to source the driver from, choose "Browse My Computer for Driver Software":

Then choose to pick the file from a list of drivers on your computer:

Then choose the highlighted one:

Then press next and install it.

If running Windows 7, 8 or 8.1 skip the next section.
Installing the new drivers.
This section is for Windows 10 users only.

To install the drivers, no 3rd-party drivers is actually needed. To properly install the drivers open the Windows Store App:

Then Search for Xbox Accessories:

Then install the app:

Depending on what Xbox One Controller you have will change on what you see when opening the app, but nevertheless it will auto-update to the latest drivers. ALWAYS PLUG YOU'RE CONTROLLER IN WHEN UPDATING. If you're controller is wireless, plug it in using a mirco-usb cable. Updating wirelessly can and will break you're controller. Once done close the app.
Opt out of any betas.
Doing this will prevent any software clashes that may or may not occur. Do this by right-clicking on Absolute Drift in your steam games list and selecting properties:

Then navigate to the Betas Tab:

And opt-out of any selected betas:

After this you are done and ready to hit walls, I mean drift nicely!

Fix doesn't work, using xbox one controller on win 10. I don't know why every other game works just fine and Absolute Drift tries to blame controller driver. Sorry but very frustrating.

The picture for "Then choose the highlighted one" is the same as the picture before, ie. not showing which driver to select.
For those of us not on Windows 10.
