So Many Names, So Little Time.....
Alrighty, so once you have gotten your little bundle of cuteness out of its egg it's time to give it a name. *Squealing with utter excitement* Note.(This is completely optional, you don't have to name your chao. As long as you don't mind leaving it scarred for life, feeling like it has no meaning or purpose........Anywho, moving on!) So what you're going to want to do is pick up your chao and take it to the "Chao Kindergarten". (Pictured)

Sooo, once you've gone in, head to the purple door on the left-hand side of the room. Here you will encounter the "Fortune Teller". (Pictured) After a few lines of dialogue, she'll suggest a name for your chao, you can either accept or decline.

If you decline, she'll go through a few more lines of dialogue before suggesting another name. If you accidently hit the accept button, have no fear, you can just go back in and rename your chao.

Also, if you don't like any of her suggestions you can pick the option to name it yourself.
"Oh dear." On This Episode of 'Chao E.R.' (The Chao Doctor)
* Low, dramatic, announcer voice* Previously, on "Chao E.R.". Our player has hatched their insanely adorable chao out of its egg. They have since made the perilous journey to the "Chao Kindergarten" where they have given their insanley adorable chao........an insanely adorable name. *Loud squeals of excitement as the screen fades black and we get back to reality*

So next, I'm going to talk a litle bit about the chao doctor-this is also located in the "Chao Kindergarten". Again, you don't have to take your chao here, it's just an easy way to check out your chao's stats and personality.

Once you go through his dialogue, you check out your chao's health chart. (Pictured) You can scroll through the different sections and check out your chao's stat levels, personality, health, etc.

The chao doctor can also cure your chaos' colds or stomach aches if they happen to have one-this happens very rarely though.
And, that's pretty much all you can do with the chao doctor........really.............MOVING ON!
The Principals Office..........(Engage Plot Twist)
Now if you go into the green door in the kindergarten, you will be greeted by the "Chao Principle". Who, if you didn't know, is the REAL chao doctor......*gasp* (This was the 'twist' I was taling about)

In here, you can get tips and advice on how to take care of your chao and that sort of stuff. there isn't really much you can do here either, but it's pretty useful.

School is in Session!
One of the last stops on our "Chao Kindergarten" tour is the of course, the classroom. Here you can drop off you chao so that they can learn various little actions like:Singing, Dancing, Ringing Bells, Banging Cymbals, all sorts of stuff.

So you bring them in, drop em' off, wait.............

Just a little bit longer...............

A little bit longer................

A bit longer?

Okay.......um, well.....moving on?

Le Black Market
Inconspicuously hidden inside the janitor's closet of the kindergarten is the "Black Market", one of your best friends on the chao world. This fine chao gentleman sells everything from chao eggs, to seeds, to hats. The inventory changes practically everytime you visit, and the more emblems you collect in the game, the more rare the items become.

Below, I've listed all of the items you can buy from the Black Market, what they do, as well as the number of emblems required to unlock each one:

(If you want to learn how to earn emblems check this guide out!)

While things can get a bit pricey at the Black Market, you can sell things here to help you with your finances. A good example is chao eggs; after your chao hatches, take the egg shell and sell it for some rings. The rarer the egg shell, the more rings you get. You can also sell fuit or items that you have dug up from the ground with Rouge or Knuckles.

Chao Races
So now that I've given you the low-down on the kindergarten, I'm going to tell you about the Chao Races. At the Neutral Chao Garden, if you head to the waterfall at the far right-hand side of the garden there will be a cave opening, and inside is probably one of the freakiest things to ever make it into the game.........

Omochao...........you can never unsee it.......

Quickly, pick the "Chao Race" arrow and you will be sent to the chao racing hub. (Pictured)

From here, you can pick the level of race that you would like to participate in and the type of race that you would like to participate in.

There are six different racing categories: Beginner Race, Jewel Race, Challenge Race, Hero Race, Dark Race, and Party Race. (When you first start, you will only have the options for the Beginner Race and the Party Race, but you will unlock the other modes as you win.)

There are four different courses to choose from in the beginner's category.

Crab Pool Race (Swimming chao are more likely to win this one.)
Stump Valley Race (Flying chao are more likely to win this one)
Mushroom Forest Race (Running chao are more likely to win this one)
Block Canyone Race (Power chao are more likely to win this one)

Each of theses races have five difficulty levels.

If you would like more info on how to raise your chao's stats, go ahead and check out these other guides:

http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=368870434

http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=154978807

Once you have all that taken care of, you'll need to go ahead and pick the chao that you want to enter.

NOW LET THE RACE BEGIN!!

Once your chao is in the race, it's all up to the little guy. You can, however, tap the "A" button on your controller to give your chao a quick speed boost. You only have a limited amount of boost, so use it wisely. The higher your chao's stamina level, the more boosts you get.

After you have completed the race, you will be taken to the podium, and if you win, you could win some really neat prizes! (Like this shovel for instance, you can use it to plant trees, but I'll get to that in a minute..)

Everybody is Chao Karate Fighting!! (For those with the Chao Karate DLC)
SO, for the peops that bought the DLC, and for the peops who didn't; let me tell you a little bit about chao karate! Now, even though you don't really get much out of this it's still pretty neat. So go back to the cave in the Neutral Chao Garden-yes we have to see Omochao again *shivers in fear*. This time, instead of selecting "Chao Race", select "Chao Karate". From there you will be brought to the majesticly ancient chao dojo.

You can choose from three different difficulties for this mini game.

And like with chao races, your chao's stats play a big part in this, especially power and stamina!

Once you pick your chao, you will be transported to an arena where two chao will face off in fight to the death!! (Okay maybe not to the death.....)

Once your chao has progressed through the tournament and won all of the matches, that's the end and you are brought back to the event screen.

So there really isn't much to this, but like I said, still pretty neat!
Green Thumbs! (How to Plant Trees)
So, do you remember that shovel that I was talking to you about before? In order to be able to plant trees you're going to want to go win the Crab Pool race with one of your chao. (Once you win the shovel, it will just be given to the chao that won. If you want one of your other chao to have a shovel as well, it will have to win the race as well.)

And, of course, you will need to buy a tree seed from the Black Market.

Once that's all taken care of, head back to your garden and give the seed to the chao that won the Crab Pool Race. A question mark will appear above its head and it will wander around for a few moments.

After a little bit, an exclamation point will appear above its head and your chao will then begin to plant the seed.

And that's that. If you would like to take it a step further, you can have one of your chao win the Stump Valley Race. This will net your chao a watering can which can speed up the growing process of the tree, and help your fruit to ripen faster. (Same as the shovel, if you want multiple chao to have a watering can, they will all have to win one.)
Fashion Ready! (How to Put Hats On Your Chao
Getting your chao to wear a hat is actually a pretty easy process. All you need to do is go out and find a "Skeleton Dog" animal. Go ahead and give it to the chao that you want to wear the hat. (Giving your chao the Skeleton Dog will get rid of any animal parts that it has recieved.)

If you would like more info on where to find a Skeleton Dog, go check this guide out:
http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=368870434

After that, you can go buy a hat from the Black Market, have your chao wear an eggshell from a chao egg, or have it wear pumpkins that you can dig up from the ground using either Knuckles or Rouge in the Neautral Chao Garden. (I don't have a pcture for this yet, but I will put one in, in an update!)
Whistle!
Has anyone else ever wondered what the "Whistle" interaction ever did? If you have I'll tell you how it works. It's not a very "useful" trick, but it is extremely adorable! *Squeals of excitment again*

In order for it to work, you'll have to raise one of your chao with a character for a long time and give it lots of attention. This will improve its attitude towards you and allow the whistle to work. This may take some time, but be patient.

If you've done it enough, now when you whistle with that character, the chao should come to you. Your chao will have question mark appear above its head followed by an exclamation point then a heart, it will call out, jump up and down, toddle towards you, and cuddle you! Is that not the cutest thing you've ever heard of?!?! *Gets too excited and dies from cuteness overload*

Hey, I happen to know for a fact that hats DO get unlocked by getting more emblems. I don't know the exact thresholds, but it seems that you've actually listed them in the order they become available already.

Of course I can! So in order to unlock more chao eggs in the Black Market, you have to earn Emblems-these can be won from playing the different stages in the game. You'll have to earn 10 Emblems to get the red egg and 30 Emblems for the brown egg. I hope this helped! :)
