Lord's Guide to Terraria Survival: Mechs and Pirates
Por Lord Washington of America
After earning wings, new gear, and exploring new biomes It is finally time to go fight the first three bosses of Hardmode, the Mechanical Bosses! We will also go over the one event we can do right now (or might of already of dealt with).

Event: Pirate Invation
We are going to jump into things here with the Pirate Invation. You theoredically had a chance to encounter the Pirate Invation before, but chances are that you would encounter them while preparing for the first mechanical (conjecture based on pure experience). The requirements to encounter a pirate invation randomly are as follows:

  • No other events happening that day
  • The Wall of Flesh must of been defeated (Hardmode)
  • At least one altar has to of been broken
  • a player on the world must have 200 max life (you should have no problem with this requirement, as you should have 400 right now)

You can also summon a pirate invation using the Pirate Map. Pirate maps are a rare drop from any mob in an ocean biome. These could be a good thing to grind for reasons later explained.

Despite being harder than a Goblin Invation, Grinders such as this one I built Pre-hardmode underneath my arena will dispach of the pirate invation with little to no risk at all

Enemies
The pirate invation will probably be the first invation in which has a miniboss within the event itself. (the Flying Dutchman). If you are collecting trophies, you NEED to hunt this miniboss (similar to a certain saucer in a very spaced out event). Unlike the Goblin invation, which was straitforward, I am adding something to the bios of all the mobs in the upcoming events. I will list the drops in a diffrent part of this section.

Pirate Deckhand: If you want to equate this to raids in any MMO, this is the trash. There is nothing special about it. Despite being pirates, they are immunte to poison and venom.
-Damage: 35/70
-Max Life: 300/600

Pirate Corsair: This pirate is very fast and can clear a surpising amount of distance with their jumps. They also don't take a lot of knockback, which can be come a problem. They are also immune to poison and venom.
-Damage: 50/100
-Max Life: 450/900

Parrot: It is just there to annoy you. They don't even drop the cool things all the other pirates can drop.
-Damage: 90/160
-Max Life: 100/200

Pirate Crossbower: These are the Goblin archers of the Pirates. They do quite a bit of damage at a distance, so do try not to get hit.
-Damage: 35/70 (melee), 80/160 (ranged)
-Max Life: 350/700

Pirate Deadeye: essentually a Pirate deckhand with a gun and a tad bit stronger.
-Damage: 30/60 (melee), 50/100 (ranged)
-Max Life: 225/450

Pirate Captain: Mark my words, despite their rairity, these enemies are dangerous. They have high damaging and have unlocked the secrets of Minisharkdom with their guns.
-Damage: 70/140 (melee), 210/420 (cannonball), 30/60 (gun)
-Max Life: 3000/6000

Flying Dutchman: Well they were not kidding that this was "flying" but I can't really see how this is Dutch... It looks nothing like the Sea Beggars we have come to love (lol Civ V). The ship itself does no damage, however the cannons do. Once all four cannons are dispatched, the ship will explode. Despite being a miniboss, none of it's drops are new, aside from the trophy. It can also spawn other pirates, while you fight it (not the captain, thankfully)
-Damage (cannons): 30/60 (melee), 60/120 (ranged)
-Max Life: 2000/4000

Stradegy
Unlike the Goblin Invation, which had caster type enemies. The Pirate Invation is very suceptiable to grinding through lava traps, even in Expert Mode. Asumming you have decent side cover, you probably will never really take damage during the entire invation. As for the Flying Dutchman, which is a flying enemy. That is nothing a good Daedalus Stormbow or Meteor Staff (crafted with 20 meteorite, 10 pixie dust, and 10 souls of light: very good magic weapon if you got the mana for it) can't deal with. I unfortunately did not have this privlage to use the Daedalus Stormbow, so I had to use a minishark. Melee Players will find that they will have a hard time as well, so use the best yo-yo you got (Armoks are pretty easy to get in the Snow Biome. I get them every 10 seconds I stand on a block of snow, this is why I call Hardmode snow biomes the "Armokalypse.") If you don't want to use a lava trap (why wouldn't you?), then you might want a bit of cover so that you can take a breather after getting pelted for 300+ damage by a pirate captain.

Loot
Pirate Invations are the staple when it comes to income in Hardmode. Even when you don't sell all the drops, you are going to get A LOT of money for just doing the event. Using Flask of Gold or Golden Bullets will also increase the amount of cash you can get out of this invation, expecially later on.

From all enemies but Parrots
Pirate Captains and the Flying Dutchman have a slightly higher chance of droping these items.

Cutlass: If you got this item before getting an Excalibur, than congradulations, you offically got a weapon better than the legendary sword Excalibur (because reasons!). However don't throw away that Night's Edge just yet. You MIGHT want to hold on to it. It does have the word "Material" on it's tooltip, maybe you can get something useful out of it later.
Discount Card: This item is so useful it will make you puke. equiping it makes Vendor NPC items cost 20% less, which extends to the Goblin Tinker's Reforge mechanic as well. Cheaper reforges are great, aren't they?
Gold Ring: It increases the distance in which you can pick up coins (to something akin to the Celestial magnent with mana stars or a heartreach potion with hearts).
Lucky Coin: Every time you do damage, coins might drop. This is an esentual item for a specal place we are going to construct later that will give us EVEN MORE MONEY!
Pirate Staff: A summoning weapon. It summons pirates, It is fairly good and is very akin to the Slime Staff.
Coin Gun: Lets face it, you are probably not going to get this item it is so rare. This item can easily break your DPS meter with how insaine it's damage can be. HOWEVER it uses coins (yes, your lovely money) as ammunition. The type of coin used will vary the amount of damage you can do (copper being the least, Platinum being the best). While the DPS with Platnium coins is some of the best DPS you can get in the game before killing the Final Boss, it makes combat with this item INCREDABLY expensive. Use at your own money loss.

From all Pirates except captains
Eye Patch: Ever wanted to be a Demoman? Well now you have half the set! All you need is a gernade launcher... hmmmmmm....
Sailor Costume: Ever wanted to be a salor? Well now you can! It doesn't meet my tastes in looks, but hey, if you like it, more power to you. (I think guys look better in this set than girls do... just saying)
Buccaneer costume: Ever wanted to be a pirate? Well now you can! This set looks much better than the salor set in my opinion.

Everything in this invation has a chance to drop a piece of the Golden Furnature set. So you can deck your halls with golden doors, Chandeliers, toilets and so much more!

Manually dealing with the Flying Dutchman
Mechanical Boss Order
Depending on your playstyle you have chosen, there are legitamate reasons to fight every mechanical first. Just don't fight them all at the same time (for now). You aren't Yrimir. (unless of course... you are, but I don't see how somebody would I consiter better than me at Terraria would find useful about guides like these other than maybe alternate tactics). However, I digress. This is my reccomendation as to what you should fight first.
  • Rangers Fight Destroyer First. Don't question it.
  • Mages could fight the Destoyer first, but they should fight the Twins first, as the Twins give better drops in reguards to mage playthroughs.
  • Summoners are the same as mages. However, I would reccomend strongly to fight the Twins first, as you can upgrade your minions (and they are quite predicatble, making the Nimbus cloud useful on them).
  • Warriors don't get much from the Mechanicals, however they can challenge the Destoryer first, as the Light disks you can make are pretty useful.

I will order the mechanicals in the order I acually fought them: Destroyer, Then Twins, then Skeletron Prime. As someone who leans more towards range, this is the order I ususally fight them.

Take is as you will, keep in mind you might want to check out the Soul Crafting section of the guide while you are waiting for night to upgrade you gear. Expecially Rangers...

Also, after defeating your first mechanical boss, Teir 2 of the Old One's Army will be avaliable. It will automatically replace teir one, so keep that in mind! You might also want to stock up on Eternia Crystals as they will become more expensive once you do the event once.
Boss: The Destroyer
Despite many people's complaints, I find the Destroyer to be the hardest of the Mechanicals. Probably due to me usually having a much better weapon when going into the fight with the Twins and Skeletron Prime, as I usually always fight the Destroyer first. The Destroyer is the Mechanical Variant of the Eater of Worlds, however he works a bit diffrently. Even if you fought the Twins or Prime first, you might want a whole night to fight this boss if you aren't going to use the cheap methods I am about to show.

Basic Information
Damage: 70/280 (head), 44/72 (laser), 53/93 (body), 40/68 (tail)
Max Life: 80,000/120,000 (I am so sorry Expert Mode...)
Defence: 0 (head), 30 (body), 35 (tail)
Immune to Knockback
Immune to all debuffs

Spawn Conditions
The Destroyer has a chance of spawning at the beginning of the night after breaking a Demon Altar with the message "you feel vibrations from deep below" or the message "you feel a quaking from deep underground." You can also manually summon the Destroyer using the mechanical worm (crafted with virtebrae/rotten chunks, iron/lead bars, and Souls of Night) at night.

Basic AI and Attack patterns
The Destroyer is like your average worm, it burrows underground and tries to lunge at you head first. However the Destroyer is not like the average worm. This worm has lasers. The Destroyer will try to shoot you with a nearly unavoidable barrage of lasers. As it takes damage, it will send out probes to try and shoot you. These probes drop hearts and are quite a nucense, so do get rid of them.

Drop Table

Greater Healing Potions: 100%
Hallowed Bar: 100%: This is how you craft Hallow Gear, the next teir over Atamantite/Titanium. You will need to fight at least 2 Mechanicals before crafting the whole set, so if you can kill the Destroyer in record time, prepare to kill two to get a massive upgrade.
Soul of Might: 100%: This is the soul that the Destroyer drops. The almighty final piece to the ominously minishark shaped puzzle.
Destroyer Mask: 14.29%
Destroyer Trophy: 100%
Treasure Bag: 100%: Say it with me now! "Expert Only"

Coins: 12 gold

Treasure Bag Drops
Destroyer mask 14.29%
Soul of Might 100%
Hallowed Bar 100%
Mechanical Wagon Piece 100% A crafting item and one of the three pieces to the almighty Mechanical Minecart.
Random Developer Item Set 5%: All Hardmode Bosses have a chance of dropping this in their treasure bags.

Coins: 12 gold

Arena Ideas
the last thing you want is to get trapped inside the length of the Destroyer (which it can do very easily, being 82 segments long, head to tail). The best bet is to make a platform high enough so that the Destroyer can't reach you with it's melee attacks. This can be easily done above world spawn, as world spawn tends to be rather flat. Just be careful on Small worlds, as you might get high enough to spawn Harpies or worse, Wyverns during the fight.

Reccomended Equipment
Melee: Any hardmode armor set, the New Ore armor sets do work nicely (with melee hats of course). Using the arch of a sword just might do the Destroyer in, but if you are lacking in the defence department, you can use a yo-yo or a Dow of Pow (light shard, dark shard, souls of light and night).
Range: Is there any questions? Best range gear you can muster (preferably Atamantite/Titanium, if you can get Frost that is even better), and the Daedallus Stormbow with Holy arrows and a Magic Quiver is all you need. This is the easiest way to kill the Destroyer as you can level the boss in a manner of seconds. If you are like me and prevented by self imposed barriers to use bows, use the best gun you can get with Explosive bullets and use cover to your advantage.
Magic: Best magic gear you can get (again preferably Atamantite/Titanium) with a Meteor Staff and Nimbus Rod If you fought the Twins before, you can use the Magical Harp as well, however the harp is most effective when used in close quarters, and I don't reccomend going into a small box underground to fight the Destroyer (yet).
Summoning: Spider Armor is your only real choice here. Using the spider minions and the Queen spider magic minion and the nimbus rod. If you fought the Twins before, you can use the Optic Staff, which is the prefered choice.

Rip Thrown, you are such a fun class to play... but I don't reccomend fighting any hardmode boss with 13 defence.

Battle Stradegy
If you are using the Daedallus Stormbow... it is easy, just hold down left click until one of you dies (most likely the Destroyer). You can try and hit multable segments at once for even more DPS. If you aren't using the Daedallus Stormbow, just make sure you don't spawn too many probes at once. Be sure to crowd control them when you feel there are too many of them. You also might want some cover to hide from the Destroyer's lasers if you are taking this approch.

Expert Stradegy
Whatever you do, do NOT let the Destroyer's head hit you. It deals way too much damage for your good, I would highly reccomend to use the Daedallus Stormbow for the fight, but be more careful with it and the probes it spawns, as the 120k max hp is NOT fun. You are in it for the long haul, make use of what you got or the Destroyer will... well... destroy you.

Fighting the Destroyer
Boss: The Twins
The Twins are my favorite boss in the game. Part of the reason for that is that they are actually two entities in one being. So you are pretty much fighting two bosses at the same time. Do not fret though, the Twins are still pretty easy (in standard mode). However this Bio is going to be diffrent because there are two bosses to cover.

Basic Information: Spazmatism
Phase 1
Damage: 50/88 (flame) 50/85 (melee)
Max Life: 23,000/34,500
Defence: 10
Immune to Knockback
Debuff: Cursed Flame 8 seconds/16 seconds
Immune to Confusion

Phase 2
Damage: 60/108 (eye fire) 75/127 (melee)
Max Life: 9,000/23500
Defence: 28
Immune to Knockback
Debuff: Cursed Flame 8 seconds/16 seconds
Immune to Confusion

Basic Information: Retinazer
Phase 1
Damage: 40/76 (eye laser), 45/76 (melee)
Max Life: 20,000/30,000
Defence: 10
Immune to Knockback
Immune to Confusion

Phase 2
Damage: 50/92 (death laser), 36/68 (rapid fire), 67/113 (melee)
Max Life: 8,000/12,000
Defence: 20
Immune to Knockback
Immune to Confusion

Spawn Conditions
The Twins have a chance to spawn at night after a Demon Altar has been broken in Hardmode with the message, "this is going to be a terrable night." The Twins can also be summoned by using the Mechanical Eye, which is crafted with iron, souls of light, and lenses.

Basic AI and Attack patterns: Spazmatism
Phase 1
Spazmatism will fire off inaccurate cursed flame attacks and occationally charge at you like the Eye of Cthulhu would in Phase 1. It's attacks are easily avoided in this phase.

Phase 2
When Spazmatism transforms to his second phase, it will shoot out Cursed Flame like a flamethrower from it's mouth. After a little while of spewing cursed flame, it will do a series of 6 long lunges at you, making a similar noise to the Eye of Cthulhu's charge noise on the first, third, and fifth charge.

Basic AI and Attack patterns: Retinazer
Phase 1
Retinazer will shoot lasers at you for a bit and occationally charge at you like the Eye of Cthulhu would in Phase 1. However, it's attacks are more accurate than it's brother, be careful.

Phase 2
When Retinazer transforms to it's second phase, it's laser will deal more damage and fire a bit faster. Retinazer will also drop it's charges for a rapid fire laser attack, that which becomes more intense as Retinazer loses HP.

Drop Table
Each of the Twins have their individual trophies, which are both at 10%. Even if you kill one of the twins first, they still will have a 10% chance of droping their specific trophy. Therefore, it is very much possable to get both trophies in one fight. The rest of the drops are dropped by only the second twin killed.

Greater Healing Potions: 100%
Souls of Sight: 100%: This is the unique sould from the Twins.
Hallowed Bars: 100%
Twin Mask: 14.29%
Treasure Bag: 100%: Expert Only

Retinazer Trophy from Retinazer only: 10%
Spazmatism Trophy from Spazmatism only: 10%

Coins: 12

Treasure Bag drop table
Twin mask: 14.29%
Soul of Sight: 100%
Hallowed Bars: 100%
Mechanical Wheel Piece: 100%: One of the peices of the Mechanical Minecart.
Random Developer Item Set: 5%: All Hardmode Bosses have a chance of dropping this in their treasure bags.

Coins: 12

Arena Ideas
The same arena you used for the Eye of Cthulhu will work, however you might be flying away from it a lot due to Spazmatism's Second Phase. In fact it is fairly possable to use no arena at all, as long as you have good arial covergae you can use Ice or leaf wings to simply fly around and dodge the twins's attacks. You could also use a sky bridge. If you are playing Summoner, you might want to add a backwall on your arena for your spiders.

Reccomended Equipment
Melee: The best Hardmode melee armor you have avaliable. Try to use long ranged melee weapons such as yo-yos or even the Shadowflame Knives (expecially paired with Frost armor), gotten at the Goblin Invation in Hardmode. Using the Ichor flask is highly reccomended for more DPS
Range: Best Hardmode range armor you have. There is no excuse about fighting the Destroyer first. If you obeyed me, then use the Megashark on this fight. No matter what bullets you use, you will have an easy time with the Twins, but I'd still reccomend the best non-explosive bullets you can muster, such as ichor, cursed fire, or crystal bullets. You could use the Dart Rifle or dart pistol to apply ichor and opt for a higher damage bullet, such as a high velocity bullet for the maximum DPS.
Magic: Best Hardmode magic armor you have. Using the Golden Shower is reccomended, as it applies ichor. The Laser Rifle or the Crystal Storm are the best choices if you are fighting the twins first. If you have already defeated a mechanical boss, then you can get an Unholy trident from Red Devils in the Underworld.
Summoning: Spider Armor. If you create an arena with backwalls, Spider minions are a great option. The Nimbus rod works wonders as well, as the Twins lock into specific positions depending on what attack they are using. Just keep in mind that they won't lock in place while they are doing their charges (this includes Spaz's phase 2 charge) so keep that in mind.

Battle Stradegy
The goal of fighting the twins is to kill them both, and you don't need to kill them both at the same time. With that in mind, it is best to focus one down before taking on the other. There are benifits of taking either out first, Spazmatism does less DPS, but is more in your face and unpredicatble in phase 2 while Retinazer does more DPS but in phase 2 his attacks are much more telegraphed and therefore easier to dodge. Whichever one you decide to fight first is completely up to you, as there are merits to killing one over the other. However I'd advise against triggering both of their phase 2's at the same time in Standard and expecially in Expert. That would make the fight nigh-impossable to win.

Expert Mode stradegy
The diffrence in the fight between expert and standard mode isn't in the form of new mechanics, rather it is in the form of a strait boost to what they already do best. They are faster, stronger, and more bulky. Therefore, it is more crutial than ever to develop a game plan for going into the fight, while killing Spazmatism may be the obvious choice, he can outrun you 9 times out of 10 with his dashes, so in some sense, it may be more benifical for you to kill Retinazer first, as his attacks are much easier to avoid in expert mode in phase 2 than his brother. Use whatever you can and make sure you don't get caught in a corner by Spazmatism's charges or get caught up in Retunazer's birrage attack, or they'll turn you into a well done steak.

Arial Combat with the Twins
Boss: Skeletron Prime
Skeletron prime is arguably the hardest Mechanical Boss out of the three, and there are legitamate reasons why this four armed menace might be the hardest of the Mechs.

Basic Information
Damage: 47/79, 94/158 (spinning)
-Cannon: 40 (gernade), 30/51 (melee)
-Laser: 50/100 (laser), 29/49 (melee)
-Vice: 52/88
-Saw: 56/95
Max Life: 28000/42000
-Cannon: 7000/10500
-Laser: 6000/9000
-Vice and Saw: 13500
Defence: 24, 48 (while spinning)
-Cannon: 23
-Laser: 20
-Vice: 34
-Saw: 38
Immune to Knockback
Immune to Fire, cursed fire, poison, venom, and confused

Spawn Conditions
Skeletron prime has a chance to spawn every night once a demon altar has been broken with the chat message "The air is getting colder around you," or "you feel the air getting colder around you," Prime can also be summoned by using a mechanical scull at night, which is crafted with iorn/lead bars, Souls of light and night, and some bones.

Basic AI and attack patterns
The fight is very akin to Prime's organic counterpart, Skeletron, even to AI. However when the head spins the defence increases, as well as being much more mobile. The arms also all have diffrent AI.
-The Prime Cannon will fire gernades at you that will explode when they hit blocks.
-The Prime Laser will fire lasers at you, usually staying horazontal to you.
-The Prime Vice will constantly try to swipe at you with a melee attack.
-The Prime Saw will try to stab you. Expecially during a headspin.

Drop Table
Soul of Fright: 100%: Unique soul from Skeletron Prime
Greater Healing Potion: 100%
Hallowed Bar: 100%
Skeletron Prime Mask: 14.29%
Skeletron Prime Trophy: 10%
Treasure Bag: 100%: Expert Only

Coins: 12

Treasure Bag Drop Table
Skeletron Prime Mask: 14.29%
Soul of Fright: 100%
Hallowed Bar 100%
Mechanical Battery Piece: 100%: piece of the Mechanical Minecart.
Random Developer Item Set: 5%: All Hardmode Bosses have a chance of dropping this in their treasure bags.

Arena Ideas
Making an arena akin to that of what you would fight Skeletron on in Normal mode would work. Preferably make it out of platforms, as that will make the Prime Cannon completely useless to Prime. A standard arena, such as one you fought the Eye of Cthulhu, King Slime and the Twins on will work just as well, expecially if they have platforms as well.

Reccomended Equipment
Melee: Best Melee Hardmode armor you can get. The Dao of pow (or a yo-yo) or the Ice Sickle are great choices. The Bladetougue, Flying Knife, Bannanarang or Light Disks are great options as well. An Ichor flask is always welcome.
Range: Best Range armor you can get, most likely Hallow armor. Megashark with Crystal Bullets, with a Dart Rifle or pistol to apply ichor. You could also use a Adamantite/Titanium repeater or the Daedallus Stormbow with Hellfire and/or Ichor arrows are good for Bow users.
Magic: Best Magic armor you can get. Crystal Serpent Staff, fished up from the Hallow, is the best well rounded magic weapon you can get at this point of the game, and can do respectable damage against even the Mechanicals. The Meteor Staff is great for damage, but you will want mana potions for that. Golden Shower for Ichor application is always welcome.
Summoning: Spider Armor. Optic Staff. 'nuff said.

Battle Stradegy
If you are good at doging, you don't need to worry about the arms, just focus down the head.

Expert Mode Stradegy
I would highly reccomend you kill the arms before tackling the head. If you built your arena to nullify the cannon, you may still ignore it and focus down the vice, saw, and laser. Take down the Laser and the Saw first!

Fighting Skeletron Prime
Crafting With Mechanical Drops
You can craft a variaty of cool things with the souls you get from the Mechanicals. Lets go over the most important of these items

Souls of Might

Light Disk: it is a boomerang weapon that you can stack up to 5 per inventory slot. Because of this, you cannot give them modifiers. It can be crafted with 4 hallowed bars, 5 SoL, and 5 SoM.
Megashark: Here it is Rangers, the weapon you will be using to fight nearly every boss until the Final Boss! The Megashark, it is the so much better version of the minishark, and personally my favorite weapon in the game (not for damage, but with the experiences and fights I have had with it). I always look forward to crafting this item and blowing all the cash I have to give it that elusive "unreal" modifier. to craft the Megashark you will need 5 shark fins, Illegal Gun parts, 20 SoM, and your very own Minishark.

Souls of Sight

Rainbow Rod: it is the better Flamelash, which is the better Magic Missile. It needs 10 pixie dust, 10 crystal shards, 15 SoS, 8 SoL, and 2 unicorn horns. You also get an achivement for crafting it for the first time.
Magical Harp: A silly and musical weapon that you can use on the Destroyer or any other closed quarters mission. It is crafted with 20 Crystal Shards, 15 SoS, 8 SoN, and a harp.

Souls of Fright
Once upon a time, you needed this to craft the Neptune Shell. Now you don't, and now this is by far the most useless of all the souls in the game, at least right now. (Other than Blight once 1.3 comes to Console/Mobile... because it won't exist! ...Too soon?)

Flamethrower: It is a decent ranged weapon that uses gel as ammo (so if you got a lot of gel...) However, as it is a flamethrower, it does not work underwater. It requires 20 iron/lead bars, 20 SoFr, and Illegal Gun Parts
Naughty Present: You actually can't craft this yet, but it is worth mentioning that Souls of Fright aren't all that useless when you want to summon a Frost Moon. This item requires 20 silk, 5 SoFr and 5 Ectoplasm (which is an item you cannot get yet) to craft.

All Three Souls
The following two items are crafted with all three of the previously aformentioned souls.

Drax/Pickaxe axe: You HAVE to craft this item if you want to progress with armor in this game (which I would reccomend), as it is the only pickaxe/drill you can get right now that can mine Chlorophyte. You will need 18 Hallowed bars and one of each of the three souls gotten from the Mechanicals to craft either one.
Avenger's Emblem: a great damage acessory that is a flat 12% damage buff to all styles of combat. What is best is that if you got useless Emblems from the Wall of Flesh, you can use them now to make the Avenger's Emblem. This requires any one of the four emblems from the Wall of Flesh and 5 of the each of the souls you get from the mechanicals.

Hallowed Bars
The bars that the Mechanicals drop do something. Maybe you can craft some new armor and weapons with them!

Excalibur: The Excalibur is sadly outclassed by a mere Cutlass. However Melee players should seek to craft this anyway, as it can become something greater than any Cutlass later.
Gungir: It is a spear.

Hallow Armor
Hallowed Armor is the next teir of armor above Atamantite/Titanium for those of you using the ore armors (summoners get nothing). It is pretty good if I do say so myself.

Crafting a full set with one headpiece requires 54 Hallowed Bars. Crafting the whole package costs 78 Hallowed bars. This is not very hard to get at all, expecially if you use the Daedallus Stormbow on the Destroyer.

Plate Mail (24 bars)
-Defence: 15
-Ability: 7% crit strike chance.
Greaves (18 bars)
-Defence: 11
-Ability: 7% damage, 8% movement speed

Headgear magic (12 bars)
-Defence: 5
-Ability: +100 Max Mana, 12% magic damage and critical strike chance.
-Total Defence: 31
-Set Bonus: -20% Mana usage

Mask Melee (12 Bars)
-Defence: 24
-Ability: 10% melee damage, critical strike chance, and Melee speed (listed as haste)
-Total Defence: 50
-Set Bonus: 19% melee and movement speed.

Headgear Range (12 Bars)
-Defence: 9
-Ability: 15% ranged damage, 8% ranged Critical Strike chance.
-Total Defence: 35
-Set Bonus: 25% chance not to consume ammo
Thank You
Thanks for reading this guide! If there is something wrong tell me.

Next time on Lord's Guide to Terraria Survival: We begin the worlds longest grind... Clorophyte farming. Oh... and we also need to check out why the Jungle is so restless!

The Question

You know when you are trying to do something, but then you get carried away... yeah... that happened. At this point the character is so far ahead of the guide that this happened a week before this guide was published.

I am not going to say WHAT that is. I am just going to say that that is a later portion of the game we won't be getting to for at least two whole guides.

So my question to you kind of applies to the reasons why I did the above... thing... How far are you willing to go in games to get the best armor (without cheating, of course)?

cool, then this guide was not made for you. It was made for the people that actually needed it.

you're welcome, I do want to finish it eventually. I am so close to the end there is no point in giving up so soon yeah?

I hear you. I don't want to push you so hard hard you decide not to do them, so I will just say that I await them with baited breath.

Thanks for all you've done, and hopefully all you find it in you to do in the future!

yes they are still in the works, just very very gradually. From the top of my head, one of them is pretty close to being done, just need some screenshots and maybe two or three sections

It is just me finding the time and drive to just do it.

So I have followed your guides all the way to the end of this one. You reference "at least two more." Are these still in the works?

I love your set of guides and am enjoyingm y playthrough immensely. Thank you.
