HMVS Cerberus

HMVS Cerberus was a breastwork monitor that served in the Victoria Naval Force, The Commonwealth Naval Force, and the Royal Australian Navy. Cerberus was one of 7 similar ships unofficially designated the "Monster Class", and when she entered service in 1870 she was consisdered to be far superior than any other warship operating in the Australasian region.

Cerberus was entirely coal powered and was one of the first British ship designs that included fore and aft turrets with an almost uninterrupted field of fire.

4 x 10 inch rifled muzzle loading guns
4 x 4-barreles 1 inch guns (an additional could be mounted)
2 x 6 pdr QF
2 x 14 pdr QF
2 x 12 pdr Bronze Howitzers (replaced on this version)
